~~~~~
Battling a sinus headache, so haven't done much but medicate and try some old tricks to relieve it. :( Gonna have to get tough here soon with steam if it's not better soon. Last thing I need is for this to turn into a migraine. :eek:
But sports day hasn't gone too bad. Looks like my Bills won their game, and Dale Jr is in the chase for the sprint cup. :yahoo:
SandyC 09-07-2008 05:31 PM
Jenn, that's what happened to Jim the other night. He was ready to admit himself. :yikes:
barb02 09-07-2008 05:44 PM
Hi everyone! I am not going to be able to respond to everyone, so can I just say hey to all of you?
Sandy, Hope Jim is feeling better soon. Take care of yourself too.
Everyone that is dealing with allergies -- I am sneezing with all of you:D The weather is great here, but the pollen and weed counts are sky high:(
Kay -- Sounds like you are being a good friend.
Where has Tricia been? Are you doing ok? You have not been posting much lately.
I went shopping with a friend today up north (Champaign). Bought bagels at Paneras, books at Borders, a pair of capris and shirt on sale (60% off) at Macy's, bamboo sheets and cards at Target, fruit and veg's at Meijers, and had lunch at Reb Lobster. (don't I sound like an advertisement for Chain stores?:rolleyes:). Finally, we stopped at an apple farm on the way home.
Now I am tired again.
I am off to check the election social group now. You would think I would get tired talking about the election.:D
NaeNae 09-07-2008 05:56 PM
Well I grilled a rack of ribs made some mashed potatos and green beans for dinner, then took a shower and gave Olivia a bath, scooted Dayton into the shower and now gonna relax and watch the VMA's.
SandyC 09-07-2008 06:08 PM
Hey Renee, I was watching New York Goes to Hollywood or something like that and they were teaching her to sing. One of the exercises was to hold your thumb under your chin and say Nae Nae Nae Nae...lol
I finished the backyard mowing with the old mower. OMG, no self propel and I thought I was going to pass out! Where is that nice sweet neighbor with my mower blade? lol
sabimax 09-07-2008 06:16 PM
Nae, enjoy the evening....hugss
To all...love and hugsssss
Update- well Madeline, was suppose to hear about yet another experimental test drug trial..that they might be able to get her in but she didnt hear..she even called three times that day.....:( that sucks...I think I will call her to chat..
SandyC 09-07-2008 06:18 PM
:Starvin:Hmm. Sounds so good, Renee. LOL, we had to order pizza.
Barb, Wow. Sounds like you had a great time!
Sarah, your grass sounds like ours. Kinda dead, but the weeds are doing just fine, LOL.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Just woke up from a nap. Had to, the headache started to go the migraine route. :( So curled up in my bedroom, no lights and wore my sleeping mask to keep out light. Slipped off to sleep and feeling a little better now.

Hubby's allergies are in full swing too. His always gets real bad at the beginning of spring and at the beginning of fall. So he's just not up to cooking either. Thank goodness for pizza delivery boys!

Hope everyone has a good night. :grouphug:

sabimax 09-07-2008 07:11 PM

lol Fin, I picked up the $5. pizzas at Little Ceasers..after work (still was in my McDs uniform hehe)

Sandy....I tire myself out thinking of all that goes on here..hehehe good thing I am not running for presidente..hehe

bagels? we gotta make 'em ourselves.

bookstores? fuggedaboutdit !!

capris? good luck !!

bamboo sheets? naw, but I have a bamboo canopy bed, lol !! (only 'cause it grows here)

fruits & veggies? well, apples are VERY hard to find, and half-dead by the time they GET all the way to the jungle... never mind peaches, apricots, berries, etc.

but we have fresh-galore... melons, papayas, pitayas, mangoes, nanners, coconuts, soursops, avocados, sapodillas, sapotes, and kiwis.

Red Lobster? there's not a SINGLE chain-restaurant of ANY kind in Belize.

but if you take a boat out (in season)...

http://kayleon.ourbelize.net/pictures/DSCN2819.JPG
(my friend's boat, just "docked")

you can catch yourself a lobster dinner !!

(fresh lobster catch, at a friend's house, in Hopkins, Belize)

:grouphug::D:grouphug:

so, I'm jealous of shopping for clothes and books and stuff, but I guess it's made up for by the plethora of other things?

at least, that's what I keep telling myself.

:D:cool::D

Vonn07 09-07-2008 07:24 PM

hey Kay ...

I think of you often without having all the 'amenities' like we have ... and try to do without and enjoy the little that I have ...

and it's true, less is MORE ...

you are special to us, Kay ... :hug:

especially if one looks around and sees that *most* of the people here have very very little, and live in dirt floored thatch huts...

so, comparatively, I'm grotesquely rich, being on SSDI.

if you look close in the pic, you can see my book and scarf and bugspray on the chair, lol... and my camera case where I tossed it on the other chair.

I was so excited when Trish and Elvis arrived with the lobster, I just had to jump up and take pictures !!

:D:cool::D

sabimax 09-07-2008 08:38 PM

Kay think of it this way.....you have that wonderful beach..and all....

I am like you, no real true big stores around here..for real shopping...small town very small town....

So for most food chains I like....Applebees etc...I would have to go hour or so away....I dont have Dunkin Donuts....(addicted to it...and miss it so much)

so enjoy the beach hehe..hugsss,sarah

Kitty 09-08-2008 06:23 AM

Renee, have a great first day at work!!!

Sarah, it's such a good thing I don't have small children any longer.....they'd wear me out!! I get tired just reading about all you do in a day!

Fin, pizza is good every now and then. Everybody deserves a break from the kitchen.

Kay, I remembered you!! :p I'd miss the conveniences I've become used to at first but think I'd adapt and realize that I don't need them as much as I thought I did. Plus, it'd be a major plus for my diet! Thanks for the pics, too! :)

Vonn, how are you doing? Heard anything more from SSDI?

Tricia, where are you, girl?? I've been missing your posts! Hope all is well there and you're just busy having fun!

Sandy, I'm thinking of you and Jim today and hoping everything works out regarding the hospital stay. Can you ask for a cot or a room with another bed in it and just stay there with him?

Frank, hope you and Deb are feeling better. When are you gonna make that breakfast casserole Vonn told us about? Let us know what you added and how it turns out.

Barb, I love Panera. We have one of those here but I haven't been in a very long time.

I have grocery shopping this morning. Got my list and coupons all ready...gonna save a bunch of money this time!! :)

Sorry for anyone I missed. But it wasn't you this time, Kay!! Ya'll have a great day!

NaeNae 09-08-2008 06:27 AM

JustWeave 09-08-2008 07:30 AM

Barely survived the weekend. DH started moving to the basement.

FinLady 09-08-2008 07:38 AM

Weave, :hug: :hug: :hug:

Renee, have a great day!

~~~~
Doing much better this morning. :yahoo: I think all the medicine and tricks I did yesterday helped with the allergies. I guess learning this stuff as you go since you were a kid kinda helps too, LOL.
Got a lot on my plate for today, so crossing fingers that I get at least most of it done.
Take care everyone. :grouphug:
SandyC 09-08-2008 08:35 AM
Hey all, just sitting here waiting to call the doctor.
Renee, good luck today!
Kitty, stay safe and cool. Will the hurricane affect you this week?
Weave, :hug: My heart aches for you.
Kay, looking at your pics reminds me when we went to the Virgin islands. The pics look so peaceful.
mornin' San !!
as you can see, the beaches are really THIN here, that's due to the huge barrier reef out in the Caribbean (largest in the Western Hemisphere!)
so, there's no wave action to bring in sand, and the mangroves and sea grass are needed for hurricane protection, so (by law) they must be left intact... that's why they don't bring in sand and extend the beaches... to protect against storm surge.
and that's REALLY why there's so few tourists, and it's so peaceful.
most everyone that visits is off scuba diving the reef, or snorkeling, Belize has some of the best reefs in the world.
and those that come inland are archeology types and jungle explorers, and eco-tourist folks.
so Belize remains mostly unspoiled paradise.
did you know Belize has set aside more than 40% of its land as preserves and parks ?!?
:cool:
That is pretty cool!
~~~~~~

Just taking a break from my running around. Trying not to :thud: over do it. I've got a lot of energy right now, so want to go full throttle, but need to remember to take it easy.

Kitty 09-08-2008 11:46 AM

I have to brag, ya'll.....I went grocery shopping for the month this morning and did so good!!! I had $53.09 in mfg coupon savings (they double up to .50) and $44.91 in Kroger Plus card and Kroger store coupon savings!! That's a total of $98.00!!! I stopped at the Kroger gas station and filled up with $47 in gas so I figure I got the gas free and had $6.09 left over!! Yea me!! :p

I had several "free" item coupons and found some super deals once I got there. Yesterday's paper had lots of good coupons in it and most of them worked well with the store specials. I just love saving money and now that I don't have a choice it's even more satisfying when I do good! My boys call me "coupon queen" because I am so frugal when it comes to shopping! I cannot stand paying full price for anything.

So....$280.25 for a month of groceries (for 3 people) isn't too bad! I have to go back for milk and bread throughout the month but I send the boys after that stuff 'cause they won't linger in the store and buy extra stuff. :o I can't be trusted just to go in and get one or two things!

weegot5kiz 09-08-2008 11:52 AM

good afternoon all, was up till 5 ish and finally fell asleep hope you are all doing well

renee :hug: hope your first day is a great one

have not made the casserole yet, too stupid to remember to get the stuff i need:Bang-Head:

Kay howdy howdy:hug" hello fin Kel San Weave and the one who has fallen off the earth Trish Barb hope this week goes well Sarah and everyone else I missed howdy howdy, have a nice day

SandyC 09-08-2008 12:26 PM

I know what you mean! I spend alot of time organizing my coupons but when I have a day like today it makes it worth it! Plus, it's not like I have that much other stuff to do....:o

My DH used to laugh when I'd get so excited about how much money I saved. Now, my poor boys get to listen to me!! :p

Just take a rest.....a nap if you can. I've been the same way recently and think mine is my sinuses. I took some Benedryl last night and it seemed to help.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water. I know water is the last thing that sounds good when the tummy is upset but it's easy to get dehydrated.

Check in with us later and let us know that you're OK. :hug:

FinLady 09-08-2008 01:48 PM

Vonn, hope you feel better soon. :hug:

~~~~~
break number two, LOL. Much needed this time around - so sitting under a ceiling fan and cooling down with a nice cold cup of water.
Tomorrow night I'm going to check out our local MS support group. It's one of those "try it out, and if I don't like it - maybe start my own" situations. They are still a little far for me, but they are the closest one to my home. I finally have gotten to the point where I'd like to meet others, so here goes :)
yeahbut 09-08-2008 02:46 PM
Vonn, I hope you feel better - rest!
Finn, good luck! I have been invited to the local group here but I just haven't taken that step yet. Let us know how it goes....
Sandy still praying for Jim!
I am still not feeling great myself. Vertigo has been bad this last week, legs weak along with spasms in legs and arms. I was at the bank this morning trying to write a check out with my hands VERY shaky, the teller was looking me and I know she was wondering if I was ok.... I hate that!
weegot5kiz 09-08-2008 04:48 PM
good afternoon everyone
vonn it wasnt the casserole was it:yikes: still gonna make it
well today I got a gift that made me cry my eyes out, a long time ago we had a flood here, yeah I know hard to believe, and i thought I had lost all my photos of my two little boys, it crushed me, one day Deb had grabbed the box years ago out of the garage and forgot she had put it in the back of one of the cabinets, this box is what she laid upon my lap this morning,
I added some to a new photo album on my profile, got some really fantastic art nature type shots but kind of cant add them to the album my ex is in them, I have a bunch I need to double check and will post more tomorrow after I scan another bunch.
I hope you all have a pleasant evening
peace
Kitty 09-08-2008 05:55 PM
Aww, Frank......Deb is such a sweetheart! What a nice surprise for you.
weegot5kiz 09-08-2008 06:48 PM
yes it was, lately with things going like they are with MS I have been dwelling on the fact of losing all my kids baby pictures, I had naught but memories in my mind, now when my memory fades even more I have pics to help me
Kitty 09-09-2008 06:36 AM
Good Morning! It's cloudy and rainy here today. We had some whopper thunderstorms yesterday afternoon/evening. I think we're supposed to get the same each afternoon this week. We need the rain, though.
An update on my diet....I have lost 11 pounds since 9/3!! :D I'm so excited!! I know the first week I lose more than I will on each subsequent week but I'm still happy!! I can tell a major difference in the way my clothes are fitting. I know it's the LDN and the fact that I am no longer on an AD or the Neurontin.
I bought lots of low carb Lean Cuisine and WW entrees yesterday. Plus, I still don't have much of an appetite so that makes it easy to stick with it.
I will lose the extra 37 pounds by the end of the year!! 26 more to go! And I should take off an additional 10 just for a safety cushion, ya know...:o I have so many clothes I could wear this Fall/Winter if I could just get back into them!!
I don't plan on doing much today...I wore myself out yesterday and I'm now paying the price. Laundry and paying a few bills and that's about it.
Looks like Ike is headed right for Houston. I hope all our Texas members take cover. This looks like a dangerous storm.
Vonn, I hope you're feeling better today.
Fin, let us know how the support group thing goes. There are several around Atlanta but it's just too far for me to travel plus they are always at night.
Sandy, how's Jim this morning? I hope ya'll got some much needed sleep last night.
Frank, I'm so happy you got your pictures back.
Kay, how's life in the jungle? How are the babies?
Char, are you feeling any better? I hope so....:hug:
Tricia, where in the heck are you, woman?? I'm gonna call you today and check up on you. Hey, I think I'll call now...it's 7:30 AM here...everyone should be up....oh yeah, it's just 4:30 AM where you are! :o
Renee, have a great second day at the office!!
Anyone I missed I'm sorry! This is a good exercise for my brain but I invariably leave someone out!! :o
Ya'll have a great day!
NaeNae 09-09-2008 06:38 AM
Off for day 2! I am in the clinic all day today so maybe I can start absorbing some stuff!
