Vonn - I'm right here! lol PM me.
Barb - The 1st week of school is now 1/2 over with. How are you doing? Weave - Keeping my fingers crossed that this new dr will work out for you all. Sandy - Sorry to hear Jim is not doing well. Saying prayers for him. Renee - That kind of sounds like my day. Only I didn't get that 2nd nap. I had to go out and get some printer ink. Hi everyone else I missed (and I know I missed many of you). I hope you are all having a good evening. ~~~ Got my car done. Came in to make a list of the errands I needed to run and took a nap. DD now 17, came home from school and was knocking LOUDLY on the door. She didn't have her key with her. It woke me up. Then she explained how she had to have the car this afternoon/evening for a fundraiser they are doing at school so that she could help get everything there. In my sleepiness, I told her sure.:Doh: I needed the car! DD18 got off of work at 3 and came home and we ran the errands together. Making note to self, remind DDs not to ask those questions when I am not all the way awake. lol |
Sandy sorry to hear about Jim's troubles.... I hope things improve soon!
Today I have a big presentation at school - last class for the mod. :D It will be easy though. I am part of a group of 3 and we designed a campground business. "Moose Madness Campground" :D this is our mascot.... isn't he cute?? We have really had a good time putting it together. I was so lucky and got 2 great team members - that helps right there. I could of not been so lucky and really got a couple of duds. My b / f sister just text me and she is at the hospital with contractions having her baby boy. I so wish I had the money to head to UT to be with her. She has no family close.... we are very close even though she is so far away. So hopefully soon I can come on and say we have a new baby in the family!! :D Have a good day every one! |
Good Morning! It's quit raining here...finally. I'm beginning to get concerned about this new hurricane threat to Louisiana. They've had enough.
Matt made it back home from Jekyll Island yesterday. He said the weather there was beautiful. My only activity today is going grocery shopping for a few items. I need to go get a printer cartridge but hate spending the $30 for it!! Seems like it doesn't last long at all before I need a new one. Tricia - I'm so impressed that you work on your own car! I wish I knew how to do that stuff. Until my right hand is no longer numb I guess I'd better forgo things like that. Sandy - I hope Jim is feeling better. He sure has had a rough time with the UTI's. Char - good luck with the school presentation today. Congratulations on the new baby in the family!! You'll have to let us know what it is once it arrives! Weave - glad to hear DH is doing so well off the meds. I believe that sometimes some of our biggest problems come from the meds we take. Vonn - I wish I had your talent for crafts. I have to buy all my cards - the ones I make look like a kindergartener made them! Barb - hope school is going well. Hang in there - the first week is bound to be difficult. Renee - check that caller ID before you answer your phone, girl!! :D I hope you're feeling better. I agree with the others that you'll do better once you're on your own. The environment you're in now doesn't seem conducive to a supportive situation. You're in my prayers. Frank & Deb - I hope ya'll are feeling better. Too bad Sonic doesn't deliver!! Kay - how are the prego goats? Still waddling around? I know you'll post pics once the babies are here....I'm excited!! Anyone I left out...it was unintentional. I'm thinking of everyone and hoping ya'll have a great day!! :grouphug: |
Quote:
and hubby's Pentax died last year... :(:( the goats are fine, both still pregnant, and I'm watching closely for "signs" of impending kidding... kinda nervous about it, but as ready as we can be. |
Good morning, everyone!! It just began raining here in Chicago area, which we need...haven't had much in a couple of weeks.
Sandy, I hope that Jim can get these UTIs under control. Bactrum doesn't affect the good bacteria in the intestines, does it? If so, have him eat yogurt...restores the good bugs in the gut. I wonder if all of you who list everyone in your posts writes these things down...otherwise, how in heaven's name do you remember what everyone posted??? I can't even remember the post immediately before mine...you all either have photographic memories, or you cheat and write down stuff... I have a dentist appointment today...:Bawling: hate it, but it needs to be done, right? My DD, who is beginning her career as a teacher, called yesterday in tears. She's overwhelmed by all the new-teacher instructions and changes in schedules that go on right before school starts...she sees the students beginning next week. Say a prayer that she gets through the first few weeks, please. She always reacts to new situations this way. What's so crazy is that she graduated with a 3.99, was goalkeeper on the soccer team, a leader in the school's religious group, performed community service, coached goalies in her free time, and worked a few hours a week besides. No confidence...she is her mother's daughter:rolleyes: Well, I hope everyone has a good day...take care not to overdo...and enjoy these last weeks of summer! |
I just had to post real quick about a success last night. It started out badly when 11 year old DS didn't do his math homework until 9PM, but it wasn't really assigned homework, just a refresher kind of thing that I really thought he should do. So, I made him do it.
He started out saying he was no good at math and not trying to do it. I got up and went over to the table and gave him some quick pointers and he responded really well and did it. I had to refocus him and encourage him a couple of times, but he didn't freak out. I am so proud of him because he really does understand it and does well at math, but gets so overwhelmed with these multi-step problems. Last year, this would have caused a yelling, screaming melt down of frustration because ADHD kids don't deal well with writing out long problems and keeping it neat enough to get through all the steps without mistakes. It is overwhelming to his brain. Getting started is really hard for him. This is something I actually understand now that my brain doesn't work right. Maybe I needed to have cognitive problems to actually understand how to get through to him! |
Holly, Glad you were able to help him out. It's neat to see he's gotten better about it.
DebbieD, LOL. I admit I have to cheat to answer some posts. That whole cog fog thing I get. There's a small list of prior posts under the reply box. There are still somedays where it doesn't register even with the help. :D Sandy, Sorry to hear Jim's still not feeling well. Hope the change up in the meds helps him. Yeahbut, I love the moose. He is cute. Vonn, Hoping the finals go well. Glad to hear you're keeping busy. ~~~~~~~~~ Sorry if I missed anyone. :grouphug: Sitting here trying to figure out what small stuff I can do today. Want to go for a walk, but the maintanence crew is out there cutting grass right now. To avoid a sinus migraine, gonna have to wait until later. :( Do have to redo photo shots of my paintings here soon. Our state's art council has an online gallery, so I'm thinking of submitting to them for now to get my name out there. But not sure if I want to do that today or not, LOL. I guess when it's cloudy out, I just want to curl up with a good book and be a slug, LOL :D Hope everyone has a good day. :grouphug: |
Hey all, it's raining here and I am mad I didn't mow the grass yesterday. My oldest called me this morning saying someone slashed his tire. They also slashed his roommates tire so it's probably some punk kids.
I plan to do a little cleaning today. Jim's hanging in there with the bactrim. Oh, I spoke with the spinal cord doctor about Jim getting an Ibot and he again so no, the VA wont get it. I told him that's not true because some veterans have already got one and if they can, why not Jim? He was surprised to hear that and promised to get back with me about it. I will hound them until they say yes to at least a trial run of the Ibot. lol Have a good day, stay safe, cool and healthy everyone! |
Thanks for the well wishes concerning DH's new doc. DH and I both think his meds are messing him up more than they are helping. I am cautiously optomistic that the new doc will get the med problem fixed and soon. Something good has to happen to him/us and fast. My fingers are slipping off the knot I've got tied to the end of this rope. Life's storms just have to ease up a bit here. Forget asking politely, I'm begging! <not pretty but...> Actually a wonderful answer to a different prayer came this morning. Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!!! Still begging for other help though.
Okay some insight... Housework (yuk!) and (yawn) homeschool supervising. Next week I'll have DD get into school work full force. I'm letting her kinda ease into things this week. Housework awaits. ugh. |
Quote:
I am amazed by anyone who can homeschool. Just getting through the homework is taxing enough to my patience. You have my admiration. |
good morning everyone, amen to rain was going to water today because the lawn needs it.
Sandy I hope Jim is doing and feeling better today Kelly sonics doesn't deliver but my eldest does:grin: Deb I can never remember and never fails no matter how many I say hello to someone I did not mention shows up, my deb writes it all down she has the memory of a rock:yikes: well had my MRI's done today two and a half hours t spine cspine and head and then all of them again with dye, I hate this point of MS, do i wish they find something or do I not wish:Bang-Head: I hope you all have a great day peace |
morning all ..
taking my last final this afternoon ... I got the paper back and I got docked for not referencing from the book .. but, still at 94% in the course -- NOW for the final ... but, even if that doesn't go well ... I'll still get a B. then, I'll be off for 2 months ... this means that it's FINISH projects ... going to see about selling here in the building ... and for next year's festival (I decided not to go in October) ... just can't afford it, and with the move - didn't have time to work on getting more projects done. trying to simplify my life more ... so I can help out others ... :yahoo: had a dream last night about a beautiful, golden-yellow Victorian house ... and (I don't know who said it) ... this person said that it's mine! Room for an art gallery, retail shop, work area ... and living space! what a dream, huh?? now where is it will be the challenge!! :Dancing-Chilli: have a great day everyone ... I'm so excited ... be good!! |
I got a call this morning from the hospital I used to work at wanting me to come in on Thursday for an interview for.....MY OLD JOB!!! LOL We'll see how that goes, there is a new director, but I already know all of the docs!
|
Whoohoo Renee!!!!!
|
Renee that's great!! I hope it works out for you.
Debbie - I just keep scrolling back reading the prior posts to help me remember who's doing what!! No way could I ever remember all that stuff! And I still end up forgetting someone! |
coolie ohs ....Renee I took some time out to pray just now asking if he or she would mind helping a friend:hug:
Kelly I do that too and still miss people:Scratch-Head: howdy Vonn glad you grades are doing well, would it even help if I said dont over do it:eek: lol nice dream |
Cool beans, Renee. Hope amongst one of these a good job will be waiting for ya. Better yet, maybe have the chance to pick and choose which one. :)
vonn, kudos on the grades. Best of luck with all your projects. :) ~~~~~ Just a quick stop in to say "hi". Did some housework (yuck), but it's pretty much done at the moment. Figured out what I'll make for dinner in a little while. I think it will be taco night tonight for us. Something relatively quick, easy, and we happen to have all the ingredients for. ;) Tomorrow is going to be an experiment with slow cooking, LOL. Wish me luck or that the pizza place delivers quickly if it doesn't pan out. :D |
*still* recuperating from last weekend's trip to the islands...
let hubby go alone to buy feed this am, while I slept most of the day. it's a long journey, over unpaved roads, and a hand-cranked ferry-boat ride across the Belize River, to get 50 lb sacks of dried corn, milo, oats, bran, etc. for our critters. of course, since I wasn't there to assist in controlling his urges, ( :D ) he returned home with two large bars of GOSS Chocolate... We make our chocolate from 100% natural and healthful organically grown Belizean cacao beans and Belizean cane sugar. There are no artificial ingredients, flavors, fillers, or colours. http://www.gosschocolate.com/about.html and of course, I had to dispense a REALLY stern gaze upon him, as he put the bars in the fridge (the only place for choco in the jungle, lol!), and I barely managed a firm "NO!" to a bite of the creamy, delicious, dark and lovely goodness... but I fully expect that by this evening, I will have developed an overwhelming craving, and will indulge whole-heartedly, whilst forgiving him totally for the little splurge. :p:o:p power outages today, thunder booming in the distance, and hot-flashes galore today... right before a big storm I've noticed they increase... making the MS extra-enjoyable... ;):winky:;) PS: neither of my goats have delivered their babies yet... |
hi Kay ... chocolate chocolate ... WHO (yep, YOU) wants chocolate!!
just finished my final ... 10 essay questions ... I think I did okay ... took me 117 minutes and 11 seconds .. I had 210 minutes to complete ... my mind was going zoom zoom at the end ... so, I knew I had to stay relaxed and not block my brain out!! LOL now, I'm going to treat myself to pizza .. done with school until november .. and have to get busy here and work work work ... :pizza: |
Hi everyone!
Did someone say chocolate? Today was a decent day. I had a good class, and was able to come home this afternoon. So I took a bit of a nap before prepping for a class tomorrow. I posted about my one class in the Stumble Inn. I would appreciate any "insights" that you all could perhaps offer. Hope everyone has a good evening. |
Finny, hope your cooking experiment comes out well!
Vonny, glad you did well on the test... and congrats on the good grades! Franky, when do you get the MRI results? Sandy, hope they "allow" the iBot, that'd be very cool... Kelly, scrolling is my middle name... :D NaeNae-ey, oh, I SO hope you get the job you want, and can move away from the Wicked Witch soon, for you and your kids' happiness and sanity. Trishy, where are you? Holly, I know how ya feel... my house is a friggin' MESS at the moment! ooops, time to go chop cabbage and carrots por mi animales... |
And speaking of the wicked witch.........I have been having horrible clonic spasms for the past 3 days from my butt down to my ankles the Zanaflex is not helping....anyhoo we were at an open house at my sons school tonight and I was visiting with a woman I worked with for years at the hospital...she is now disabled and not working, and she asked why I was walking funny and I told her that I have MS and it is from spasms, OMG you would have thought I suggested we go out and rob a bank, when we got to the car my mom said GD-it why did you tell that woman you have MS? Couldn't you have just kept your mouth shut, what if she tells someone else? I'm like ummmm I don't have leprosy for God's sake! GRRRRRRR And I almost hit two baby deer on the way there and on the way home so now she thinks I can't drive....um hello they were in the middle of the street! LOL Yall keep prayin realllllly hard that I get a job soon!
|
Kay I forgot to ask, after that long on that table i wanted to go home and relax my back, usually its about 3-5 days
Still praying for ya renee hope you all had a nice night spent most of afternoon trying to get this laptop to work again. the reboot partition didnt reboot and the reboot disk is ...whats that word umm....................USELESS everyone have a nice night peace |
I'm so sorry you have to put up with this behavior, Renee. How awful it must be for her to be like that....to have no compassion for another human being in pain....not to mention that this other person is her daughter!!! I really hope you get this job (or ANY job for that matter at this point!!).
I hope that friend of yours does tell someone....everyone! Maybe these other people will be good contacts and help you find a job and a place of your own. You'll probably discover that there's someone else with MS, too, in the group and hopefully you can find some support there. I'm still prayin' for you! http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/k.../AngelHugs.jpg |
sorry about what happened with you and your mom, Renee ... praying for strength... a job.... and moving out ... have you found a new place yet??
thanks for the 'good night' wishes, Frank ... the last two nights I've been taking Tylonel PM so I would sleep thru more than 2-3 hours, then up, sleep another 2-3 hrs .. but, I know I can't take these every night .. it's sure nice to sleep thru 7 tho! INSIGHTS::: I don't know! :holysheep:LOL ... :Thats-Funneh:clean and sort and organize and work on projects! won't find out about my final grades until the 4th! okay - off I go ... hope you all have a great day ... |
morning all
happy friday hope you all have a great day not much insightful to share, just doing a little around here today |
Holly- DD is sixteen and not a morning person. The challenge is getting her moving in the morning. After that she pretty much keeps chugging away on her homeschool work till it is done.
NaeNae- About your mom...   Got my fingers and toes crossed hoping for a really good job escape for you. My insight- DH see his new doc today. He has been off his meds since Sunday and now the withdrawal carp is flu like carp. He is a bit cranky today too. If I was in his shoes I would be more than a little cranky. Yes his meds arrived but he wants off as many as possible so he decided with the doc appt this soon he would wade out the withdrawal. He hopes doc reduces the number of meds for him or at least reduces the doseages. Really looking forward to his new doc's report. As for me it is grocery fetching day so I'll do that and keep chippping away at the house mess. DH called this morning to say we are spending the weekend of his September b-day at a rented cottage at a favorite amusement park. Hope it doesn't rain on our parade, er, fun. Stuff to do better get moving... Have a great day everyone! |
Renee, That was my grandmother. Would rather sweep stuff under the rug and let everyone come to their own conclusions. Hope you get a job here soon and get out of there. Still praying for ya.
Weave, hope DH's appointment at the doc goes well. Kay, LOL - I didn't wake up in time to start a slow cooker recipe. If I started now, we wouldn't be eating until 9pm. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. ;) ~~~~~~~ LOL - not much to update. woke up late, late, late this morning. Apparently I'm sleeping deeper when I do finally zonk out, 'cuz even the kitties pleas for food didn't wake me. :D Trying to figure out what to do today once I wake up fully. Now, where did I put that coffee? :D Have a good day all. :grouphug: |
Hey everyone! Mowing the yard today and getting Jim up for a bit. We haven't heard what bug he has yet but maybe later today or tomorrow. The bactrim is doing it's job so we'll see.
Renee, you'd think she'd understand but there is nothing you can do at this point. Just try to ignore her and get out of there fast. Praying the job comes through. Sounds like she thinks someone will say something and that will prevent you from getting a job. Ignorance is bliss they say but in her case it's not. Stay cool today everyone. It's hot hot hot! |
What the ****? McCain picked a woman. Wow! It sure is an interesting election!
|
look at it this way it will be an election of first
Hello everyone how you all doing i am slug still back si still sor from yesterday, oh well taking it easy and resting and using ice and heat to work them muscles Renee hope today was a better day, like Sandy said try to ignore her, she does boggles my mind, she is clueless..... :hug:Renee:hug: Sandy glad to hear Jim is doing better, Everyone have a nice afternoon if you did the football thingy last year on here we are trying to do it again but through a yahoo pickem thing , info is posted over in the stumble inn |
Wow...its Friday!! Not that everyday is Friday when you are retired!:D
Not sure what up for me and the Olhipie today. We might go to a movie as we haven't gone in a few weeks. Nothing good playing we haven't seen. Ho Hum...so quiet today.....:) |
hello ..
going thru envelopes and envelopes of pics ... and sorting and tossing ... found a bunch of pics when I was painting on t-shirts and sweatshirts ... and making cemetery wreaths (silk flowers and grapevine) ... and crocheting afghans ... wah!! hope everyone is having a great day ... Frank - I'm going to pass on the football ... not in the mood since the stunt that Favre pulled ... |
Hey you guys. Please say an extra prayer today for Renee and her children. She called me with a major crisis hitting. I wont divulge what it is but just ask that you pray really hard for her and her children.
Thanks. |
Renee, my prayers and thoughts are with you in your hour of need.
I hope the situation resolves quickly, and everybody's well. :grouphug: |
No problem Sandy, Renee and her children are in Debs and my prayers
I hope everyone's evening goes ok, if you talk to her tonight, please tell her i sent :hugs: and hope she is ok |
I will be talking with her very soon and let you guys know how she is. Thanks so much.
|
Renee, prayers heading your way.
|
Ok, Renee is Ok and they are home. I didn't want to say what was going on until I made sure she was OK. Although I cannot tell you all that happened because that's Renee's place, I can tell you she had a major fall out with her mother. This almost resulted in Renee being without a home and no place to go. Jim and I were wishing she was near us so she didn't have to deal with that on top of losing her marriage.
Anyway, I'll leave the rest to Renee if she feels like talking about it. All I will say is to keep praying for Renee and the kids, but especially her mother, who needs it more than anyone. to all who prayed and will keep praying. |
Thanks Sandy, I don't care if you tell the rest, I just can't right now because just the stress of thinking about it is about to do me in!
