FinLady 08-25-2008 12:38 PM

Frank, :Doh: I do have a low grade fever. 99, but for a person whose normal body temp is 97.6, I guess that would be equalivant of having one of 100? No wonder I'm hot. :rolleyes:

Of course, the question is now why. I don't think sinus infection, because I almost always know when I have one of those. Been having those things since I was a kid. Hometested for UTI yesterday, nadda.

LOL, you made me hunt down our themometer - Thank you. Neither hubby or I thought about that. ;) Now I need to hunt down some tylenol and see if I can break this fever. Pass the pitcher of water. :)

tkrik 08-25-2008 12:51 PM

Aw, Fin. It could just be some sort of virus or even allergies. Sometimes I run a slight temp (around 99) when my allergies are acting up.

Although, I too, have a "normal" body temp of 97.1 it really doesn't mean that I am running a fever. The 98.6 that they say is normal is just an average they came up with based on a group of people. Most people run somewhere around 98.6.

Drink lots of fluid and get some rest. Keep your body cool. If you start getting achy, try a cool bath to keep you body temp down. If you are like me, when my temp goes up so do my symptoms.

Hoping you feel better soon, my friend.:hug::hug::hug:

yeahbut 08-25-2008 01:57 PM

sorry Fin you are feeling crappy - hope it passes soon. I am one who runs low also... so when I do go to the doc and it is only 99 they say "oh you don't have a fever" :rolleyes:

who moi 08-25-2008 02:17 PM

I don't usually read in the other one but thought I'd take time before this one gets to 500 in three days and just send you all some ((((BIG HUGS))))

SandyC 08-25-2008 05:12 PM

Hey all, we're home! The gastro doc was very nice. He really can't do anything for Jim because he said unless we fix the problem that causes his gastro issues his problem will always be there. He thinks Jim's issues are from his meds and unless he can give them up, there's nothing but a temp fix for the problem. I know I am being vague about what's going on but Jim would not be happy if I let you guys know what was going on. lol

He did suggest we see a colorectal surgeon just to get a more informed opinion but said surgery should be a last resort. In other words if Jim is not uncomfortable and not having major issues, then leave well enough alone.

He said we did the right thing by coming in. Better safe than sorry.

OMG, something really funny. When we went into the exam room Jim got himself settled in with his wheelchair. He wasn't really paying attention to the room decor. I told him to look to his right and his eyes bugged out of his head! There was a complete set up for an endoscopy and colonoscopy next to him! LMAO! Not neglecting to also tell him there was a life size rectal sculpture looking right at him! ROTFLMAO

The doctor was truly prepared to do the test if he felt it was necessary. I know, it's not really funny but if you had seen Jim's face you couldn't have helped but laugh! :p

Char, just caught up and I am so sorry. I like the idea of setting up an account if you have your own bank account. Use someone else's picture!

weegot5kiz 08-25-2008 05:36 PM

Sandy sorry about the pill issue, there is nothing that he can eat with pills to help or im sorry another non answer, he doesn't have a fissure that may be hindering this issue? wish you two had gotten a better answer:hug:

Finn I can totally relate to the temp thing my base temp is around 96.8 so when i hit 99 or 100 i am running a fever, I always have to remember to tell doctors at ER or hospital this,sometimes i forget

howdy Moi, Snoozie we don't drop something like that without a link to said conversation, spill it, sitting here thinking about how i took my baby's temp hmmm forget the link lol

Sandy did yall hit sonics?

barb02 08-25-2008 06:21 PM

Hi All! I am sooo tired. My base temp is also around 96.8 or so. Weird.

NaeNae 08-25-2008 07:23 PM

Hey all job interview went great, they loved my experience kept pointing it out, said they'd pay me at least 20 bucks an hour, and said they'd let me know by the end of next week. So keep fingers crossed, I know the clinic I interview at tomorrow won't pay nearly that much, but will still go!

sabimax 08-25-2008 07:37 PM

hey welcome around Yeahbut...stay awhile...

so...well I did have flight issues back..but not due to tropical storm Fay...
due to airline had canceled there service flight 8am from Orlando to Milwaukee...and travelocity thought I didnt need to know...well they said they emaled me...this was changed as of July 20th thru airline...so Travelocity I was so upset with.....

lucky we didnt just show up at airport toting the four kids..and find this out...we had looked online friday late night...and noticed there was no flight listed for the flight number we had....hmmmm

so we didnt think much of it at first, then I said hun..we better call...so I called travelocity..they said..oh that 8am was cancelled and they had emailed me...about changing it....they said they would try to reset another flight plan..and call me within hour or two...I hung up and realized this is like 11pm.....so hubby then called..

got a travelocity agent...who said they would work on it, called us back..with two wierd options that werent gonna be fun....long trip..or two day trip.without them paying for hotel stay between the two flights.....

during the talks..hubby cell phone was cutting out...we then finally heard back again from the guy...left us a voicemail as hubby phone wasnt working...(we were hoping he would reach us so we could give him a different number for us...) voicemail the guy sounded a bit bummed at us..and said he would try back in 30min...

he never called...so I called midwest...got agent in 5min and booked new flights with her to fly all to appleton WI...then we could find a way to green bay where car was.....

no problem..excited to find a better option...
I called travelocity to tell them I expect them to pay for the van ride we would rent or taxi from the one airport to other...t.hey said no

they said that the policy is..that they only have to email notice us...
I said that is crazy, we didnt get one..and even if so...shouldnt they call contact number if they didnt hear from us ,,,,since it was a cancelled flight not jsut a change...they said they didnt have to...

they also said the van isnt there resposibility since I didnt reset my flight plan thru them...and went on own to airline....

duhhhh I was on phone with her from 1am-2am....debating this...that if two of the reps cant rebook something or call back...they said that my hubby was hanging up on the agent...I nicely explained the cell phone loss....

anyhow....nope..they wouldnt...they would give us a coupon for next time ...I said ok book me a van and use the coupon for it...she wouldnt...I wasnt happy with them and wont use them again....

either way we did get home...payed a taxi van..as it was same price as a rental with less work as a rental pick up would have been...we are home...

been busy at work....lots to do...catch up...

Frank glad your wifey is home..hope you two feel better soon...

hugss all, sarah

sabimax 08-25-2008 07:40 PM

wow what a long jibber jabber post that person before me did...babble babble hehehehe

oh question, maybe I will post on site too...

anyone here ever had shingles, or know someone who has..???

asking, as I started getting this itching thing going on....an area will tingle...then feel itchy..then as I scratch..some dots show up....hmmmm

in areas though...like patches...I will look stuff up..I only mention shingles...as few years back dr seen a dot on me..that looked a bit like these...and looked it over, and told me to watch for more at the time in case the spot was shingles starting....nothing came of it back then....

either way...itchy whatever the heck I am having....not sure with meds...cause any of this..although been on both meds a while....speaking of that....I have gained 8lbs...maybe bit of vacation..but think the prednisone crap...only on 2mg daily right now...but hmmmmmm

getting me mad, I already need to lose some...anyhow hugssss, sarah

NaeNae 08-25-2008 07:55 PM

I had shingles and they didn't itch they hurt like hella bad!

sabimax 08-25-2008 07:58 PM

if you just got back from Florida (I think that is wha I read) it could be sand flea bites - they itch like heck and burn!

thanks for the invite, I will try! :hug:

weegot5kiz 08-25-2008 08:15 PM

good point Char

deb mentioned maybe chigger bites too, she said they use to call those the no see bug bites

CayoKay 08-25-2008 10:13 PM

posting from the land of chiggers, sand fleas, sand flies, and no-see-ums...

Sarah, that's what it sounds like to me, as well...

hope you don't turn out to be as reactive (allergic) as I did.

oh, caca, they itched and tingled for over a *month* !!

the only solution is to slather with baby oil before venturing onto the sand.

some people have success with DEET, or OFF, or Avon's Skin So Soft, in prevention.

I use Benadryl to relieve the itch, since I'm numb, I'll scratch (even in my sleep) until it's raw and bleeding, and never feel it.

it seems MASSIVELY unfair that I can't feel the scratching, but I CAN feel the itch...

another lovely gift-that-keeps-on-giving from my MS... lol!

also, trimming my nails to nothing, and using a hydrocortisone cream for itch relief seems to help.

hugs, and hope you're over the itchies soon dear!

weegot5kiz 08-25-2008 10:43 PM

how was your holiday Kay how are you doing well I hope

CayoKay 08-25-2008 11:39 PM

hi, Frank !!

my mini-vaca was fabulous...

:yahoo: :D :yahoo:

but getting there and back was not much fun.

:(:rolleyes::(

first, a three-hour bus-ride, then a taxi to the docks, then another 2 hours in a water-taxi out to the keys (called cayes here)

so, half of Saturday, and half of Monday were spent in transit, but the destination was WORTH it, I think.......

:cool: :sunchair: :cool:

the Caribbean was kinda choppy, and geez, I thought certain parts of me were gonna bounce right OFF, lol !!

:Noooo: :Blush2: :Noooo:

but we managed to snag seats in the back of the boat, and got an open-air ride, watching the spray from the motor, and feasting our eyes on all the little islands passing by.

I'm soooooo glad to read that your sweet Debbie is on the mend, and hope you're taking care of *yourself* as well, dahlink!

:Sick: :hug: :Sick:

sabimax 08-26-2008 05:24 AM

Sarah, you don't have to go to the beach to get sand fleas in Florida. They are everywhere and I talked with a friend down there that said this is the worst year she has ever had!!!! She can't get rid of them and she lives inland...... :eek:

Well, I have a very important meeting today - wish me luck!! I may need it.

I asked BF about his purchase - yup it was for him, purely innocent (I hate that) and cancelled it the same night cause he knew it was wrong. Doesn't that make it any better - NO. Needless to say as soon as I get a job I will be looking for another place - I am done with his games. I just have no money right now to pay for anything......

is it wrong to just wish my life would turn in the right direction just once?

have a great day everyone will check in later. Off to my mock trial tonight. That will be fun!

NaeNae 08-26-2008 07:39 AM

If it is then I'm in trouble cause I'm right there with ya sister!

Vonn07 08-26-2008 08:24 AM

Char ... been there too ... and left with nothing ...

but, remember the 'City Slicker' movie ... about 'DO OVERs'??? ... we all can have 'do overs' .... and if this is where your heart is taking you - then go for it ... it's tough - BUT, YOU need to take care of YOU!! .... here's a huge hug for ya! :hug:

Sandy, Sandy . ... ya gotta quit picking on Jim during vulnerable times ... especially 'those' doctor-types!! so, were you able to hit Sonic on the way home?

Renee ... great to hear about yesterday's interview .... and good luck today ... remember to weigh the options for both ... the drive and hours, etc ...

Sarah - when you get home, call your doctor about it (and if it is shingles), tell them that there is a salve at the pharmacy over in Lakewood, WI (where I go) for shingles ... and it WORKS!!! the pharmacy came up with this!

:hug: Char :hug:

Good luck with your meeting!

And regarding DBF......I think as long as they think we will buy an excuse they will keep making them. Whatever happened to real men? Or have there really ever been any??

Just keep doing what's best for you. Let him play his games by himself.

After my last relationship and the lies I caught him in I just threw up my hands with the whole thing. What is it with the deceit and lies?? I simply do not need the additional stress in my life. He apologized profusely and really wanted to have a second chance but, as I told him, "if I can't trust you then what's the point?". And I am not a "clingy" person. I truly believe that people should have time to themselves and be able to have friends outside of the relationship. Guess I was wrong.....:rolleyes:. Guess my idea of "friends" was different than his!! :eek:

Anyway, I think you'll be fine. I know it hurts initially but when you think of the lack of respect and the breach of trust then you know you're above that and deserve better.

FinLady 08-26-2008 09:16 AM

Sarah, sorry to hear about your unwanted vacation gift. Hope you feel better soon. :hug:

yeahbut, sorry to hear about the BF situation. :hug:

Renee, Still keeping fingers crossed for ya. Yesterday's interview sounded like it went well. :)

Kay, hear ya about being too numb to feel the scratching, but still feeling the itch. LOL, one of the fun things I go through too. :rolleyes:

Sandy, poor Jim, LOL. I can just imagine the look on his face when he saw the stuff at the docs office.

~~~~~~~
My fever broke, yipee!!! So glad for that. Feeling a little better this morn, except for some soreness. But have the feeling it's from being a slug the past couple of days and movement is probably good for the bod right now.
So I'm sitting here making a small "to-do" list and sipping my usual morning cup of coffee. Trying not to push too hard, since I'm feeling so much better. The temptation to go full tilt is there, but have learned via the hard way that is not a good idea. ;)
Hope everyone has a good day today. :grouphug:
tkrik 08-26-2008 10:31 AM
Good morning everyone!!!
Char - Prayers and hugs are being sent your way.
Sarah - Sorry to hear about the vacation troubles. I was hoping you'd come back with lots of good things to say.
Renee - Good luck with the job prospects. I will keep you in my prayers that things will turn around for you, you'll get a good job and enjoy the job, AND you will be able to move out soon.
Fin - Glad you are feeling better. Yes, we know what happens when we go at it full throttle - we crash. It is still difficult for me to remember that though.
~~~~
I have NO INSIGHT!:eek::D Today is a chill out day. I've had the hug (mild) since last Friday so instead of trying to ignore it, I am going to nurse it today. Well, I did put ice on it late Saturday afternoon/evening. Since the pain isn't too bad (I can sit, stand, lay down, etc. somewhat comfortably) and it's not freaking out my internal organs, I opted not to call the neuro. I go in for my 4 month check in a couple of weeks anyhow so I'll talk to them about at that time.

So today, I am chilling.:p

Hey all! I see some of you are not feeling up to par or are just getting back to feeling well or have private issues going on. :grouphug: to all here! And welcome home to those on vacation!

We are chilling today too. I plan to get Jim up in his standing machine and then give him a leg massage. He said last time we did that he was loose for three days or more. So, that's my job today, making my man feel good! It's the least I could do after laughing at him yesterday right? hahaha

Have a good day everyone! I know I haven't called each of you by name but that's because you guys are way too fast for my mind in the mornings! lol You know I :hug: each and every one of you!

Lunch break! Hugs, prayers, and welcome back should cover everyone. School supervising is done for the day. Some housework got done too with more to follow after my break. Got my fingers and toes crossed in high hopes that a certain package arrives in today's mail for DH. Kinda makes working hard but it is that important. And she's off...

well lack of character is a main reason, and how you are brought up, yes you can blame tv and movies and all they are saying and showing what to do, but when it comes down to the actually reason its lack of character, if a person has moral fiber he will see this on tv and say thats not right and continue on his path, others however just don't give a damn who they hurt as long as they get what they feel they deserve. its a horrendous way to live life but there sure seems to be a lot more self serving folks out there these days. I am sure being raised around aunts grams and girl cousins has a lot to do with who I am today, cause i have always been appalled at behavior that is self serving. and those who demoralize the concept of giving of ones heart, freely, now just to say one thing, it happens with both genders.... the guys do seem to do these type of things more so than girls, I have often wondered why do i think differently than how other male friends, thought. I never understood it but as I grew older I realized it had to be the female influence in my life, that made a diff in who I am, pretty sure thats not a solution, I still believe its the lack of instilling morals in and said destruction of morals by outside influences, is that an excuse no not in a million is it a good reason for lacking self determination to do right and live right. but i do believe it is part of the problem
