Fin my prayers too darlin...

hurricanes..tropical storms....wow the rain rain rain..when we were in florida...hoping all are safe and get thru as sounds strong hurricane wise...this new storm.

Well, baking cookies, I only have 10 employees right now..including me...so I decided since small store, that when someone Bday comes...that during the week of Bday I would bake yummy cookies and bring them in one day that week when the person is working....

A few found out, one requested my sugar cookies, one other let me know to write by his bdate, that he is allergic to nuts..hehe...they were excited I think. Hoping one way to have positive thru, since most there see me as thinking I am mean, since I have had to come in and get the rules set more straight..and procedures on track etc.

anyhow, gotta go check the cookies and kids..hugsss,sarah:winky:

CayoKay 08-30-2008 07:19 PM

yep, Sarah, positive reinforcement works better than Atilla the Hun.

:D

you're so sweet, baking cookies!

bet those procedures are straightened out RIGHT quick !!

weegot5kiz 08-30-2008 07:59 PM

yeah cat 5 and it sure seems to be heading just west of New Orleans, too bad they couldnt blow off a big bomb in a hurricane and defuse it

SandyC 08-30-2008 08:42 PM

Sarah? Can I come work for you? :D

Update: Jim and I got bored and cleaned our bedroom. LOL

FinLady 08-31-2008 09:14 AM

Thanks everyone for your prayers. Still haven't gotten the details yet about what's going on with MIL, but will keep everyone posted.

As to the "weed and feed", I think I'm going to try Scotts. Not sure if it will work, and won't really know until spring comes around - LOL. I do know that recovery has been bad since we used a company to do the lawn chemical stuff a year or so ago. Whatever they used worked on some stuff, but hurt our lawn in other ways. :(

At least I have an outdoor project that will keep me busy. ;)

NaeNae 08-31-2008 09:19 AM

Jenn carefule with the weed and feed!! I put down wayyyyy more than I was sposed to in Virginia and our front yard grows like 8 inches a night!

LOL, considering how my yard looks right now, that would be an improvement :D

Vonn07 08-31-2008 09:54 AM

hi all ...

stopped by a friend's new building to convert a school into a dance studio ... and I stayed and helped .... SORRRRRRE today! and going back for more!! LOL

it's so wonderful when others accept me for me ... and not my limitations!!

have a great day ... BTW Sandy, Sarah made me cookies for Christmas last year ... mmmmm, and I didn't share!!

let's remember all our virtual friends - that you all have a wonderful day ... and know that someone is thinking of you and praying for you!!

Kitty 08-31-2008 10:37 AM

Good Mornin' everyone! It's beautiful here today - not too hot and a nice breeze blowing.

Kevin is fixin to cut the grass. With last week's rain it is thick, thick, thick!

Not doing much today. Would like to go to Big Lots 'cause they have NutriSystem dinners on sale for $1 each! I've never been on the diet or eaten the food but it's worth a try for $1!! Anybody here been on that program?

Renee, I'm glad your Mom has at least made an attempt (albeit small) to apologize. I'd just keep my distance and keep on doing what you're doing. Good luck with the duplex.

My brain is very foggy today so I'm not going to attempt to list everyone.....just know that I wish everyone a good holiday weekend!! :grouphug:

SandyC 08-31-2008 10:52 AM

Hey all! Not much to report except our bedroom looks really nice. lol Today I will finish the laundry I loaded up last night and clean the bathroom. Then I may tackle the bills on the table. It is going to be too hot to do anything the next three or four days so we are going to be hermits. Maybe we'll run to Walmart or something but at least they are cool inside.

Hope everyone has a nice Labor Day weekend!

barb02 08-31-2008 11:18 AM

We are feeling the heat and humidity down here too. I made a quick run to Wal Mart, and now I plan on staying in for the rest of the day. I plan on reading and I will probably be glued to CNN.

I feel so sorry for everyone in the Gulf Coast. I don't think NOLA is ready for this storm. I loved visiting there -- have been there two times. But I have not visited since Katrina. It is just not the same.

I do have some papers to read and grade already and a class to prep for on Wednesday, but I will probably put that off until tomorrow.

Sarah, Homemade cookies sound good.

Kelly, Hope you are feeling cooler this morning. Make sure you check the dates on those Nutri Systems dinners. My sister lost 15 pounds in the 6 weeks she was on it, but I think she is starting to gain some of the weight back. My BIL lost 25. It is not fair that men lose weight so much easier than women. Have you noticed a decline in appetite since stopping the neurontin?

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday. I can't wait for Fall weather!

weegot5kiz 08-31-2008 11:28 AM

hello everyone, I hope all is well

Fin I tried weed and feed by scotts was not very impressed, I would see if ortho has a weed and feed, I like some of orthos products

i am in a daze here so not much gonna happen here today

hope everyone has a safe sunday and labor day weekend

peace

sabimax 08-31-2008 11:41 AM

taking a break from cleaning...trying to scrub out the tub...kindof one of those things..if we kept cleaning it often would be much easier...now having to scrub like crazy....get warm...so out here under fan to cool off before going back in:p

I work later 3pm-11pm....work some on shift, then do the food order for week, then as it is last day of month..monthly inventory....

well gotta get back to it..hugss,sarah

Hi Barb! Yes!!!!!!!! I have noticed a deep decrease in appetite since stopping the Neurontin and starting the LDN. It's wonderful! I can tell I've already lost a few pounds. :D

I'm cool right now...........check again in three minutes and I'll be hot again!!

CayoKay 08-31-2008 04:06 PM

share my excitement, gang !!

Leeloo just gave birth to two adorable KIDS !!!!!!!

since their sire is Duke Leto Atreides, my husband named the babies Paul and Alia.

Alia is 5 lbs, and Paul is just a shade over 6.

yeah, we were out there in the goat pen, cleaning, snipping cords, dipping the stubs in iodine, and providing mama with a nice pan of warm oatmeal mush with molasses.

both afterbirths came out fine, and mom is resting comfortably.

WHEW !!!

:grouphug::hug::grouphug:

NaeNae 08-31-2008 04:11 PM

I refuse to even think of NOLA being destroyed, I love that city, have loved every second I have spent in it and cherish the richness of its culture and history...I am praying as hard as I can.

Now since we are all praying.....Please continue keeping me in yours...one that I find a job and two that I get the duplex I just filled out an application for. LOL and that I come with a couple thousand dollars in a hurry LOL, nah I can borrow that from my stepdads father. It is a supercute duplex, 2 beds 2 baths a kitchen that is open to the living room...gas fireplace and I can keep my dog. All one level which is even better for me and just big enough so that I won't kill myself keeping it clean! The rent is 825 a month which, if I get one of the jobs will be just fine, so keep all fingers crossed!

weegot5kiz 08-31-2008 04:18 PM

youve been reading dune too much lol congrats Kay

my prayers are with you Renee

Kitty 08-31-2008 04:49 PM

Awww, Kay, I wish you had a working camera!!! I'd love to see those babies. Ya'll come up with the cutest names, too.

So now you just have the one goat that hasn't delivered yet? At least they didn't decide to have them on the same day.

I'm so happy you were there to help her and that everyone seems to be doing fine.

Renee, I hope you get the duplex. It sounds perfect.

I keep switching to the weather channel so I can keep up with what's going on with Gustav. I wish it would just turn around and go back out to sea.......:(

CayoKay 08-31-2008 05:42 PM

Kel, we've got a houseguest, (a photo-journalist)

she's off in the jungle, doing updates on lodging for a Belize guidebook at the moment.

she'll be back this evening, and take pix for us.

:)

NaeNae, good luck on the new abode, honey!

NaeNae 08-31-2008 07:21 PM

Dear God LOL My best g/f suggested I have a post divorce housewarming for the things that I need to get "restarted" so I went online to Walmart and put together a wishlist, I did not realize how much crap I need!!!!! Why did I leave all of that stuff behind??? Because I was trying to adhere to the 50/50 split rule and I took all of the really good stuff LOL. Ok I do have on there a couple of expensive things that I or my parents will get but I could not believe how much other stuff I needed! I called her and said thank God Walmart has layaway cause I think I better get started! I also told her that since it was her idea, she had to cough up half of the list LOL. I'm thinking I should email it to my ex!

Kay when are we going to have baby pics of the kids!!!!

Hey Yabbit I may have missed it but how did the slate sale go?

Ummm Sandy you never called me back!

I am going fishing tomorrow with the kids and ......my mother, that should be fun.

CayoKay 08-31-2008 08:02 PM

hopefully, tomorrow !!

CayoKay 08-31-2008 09:38 PM

ahhhhhh, sweet rapture that is MS !!

you've got that right, Frank-mah-deah...

from midline to far right all is doubled.

can't wear an eyepatch in this muggy heat, so... I have to sit facing the corner, and look at the screen with my left eye only.

;):winky:;)

kaleidoscope thingie? isn't that some kind of migraine?

alas, cog-fog hath plundered my memory banks.

:D

Gazelle 08-31-2008 09:46 PM

Well, Frank and Kay, just remember:

I must not fear
Fear is the little death.....

What's a little eyepatch between friends (or coy one-sided glancing)? ;)

( :D.... the wink was on purpose)

Way cool about the kids, Cayo. LOVE the names. You gonna name any others "Sandworm"?

our leetle family joke is... we were thinking of naming the babies Kiss*** and Hatrack.

when I watched the movie with my kids back in, lemme think, 1984?

my DD, (then 5 or 6) found the movie memorable, and was entranced with little Alia.

she liked to quote the closing line of the movie, hilariously mispronounced:

And how can this be? For he is the Kwisatz Haderach!

:D:p:D

FinLady 08-31-2008 09:53 PM

I Like Dune as well :) So for those who also like dune, you might get a laugh from this.. http://mikecane.files.wordpress.com/.../dune-catd.jpg

Renee, hoping the duplex and job work out. Keeping you in my prayers.

CayoKay 08-31-2008 09:55 PM

:D

Finny, that pic is *hysterically* funny !!

NaeNae 08-31-2008 10:26 PM

I can't wait to see the babies................!!!!!!!! Olivia saw some little kids this afternoon at a farm and cried cause she wanted to take them in the car with us!

weegot5kiz 08-31-2008 10:33 PM

Finn the picture is great, thanks deb and I giggled

hope everyone has a nice Monday

peace

CayoKay 09-01-2008 05:53 AM

Frank, you should change your song to Lucy in the Sky, With Diamonds !!

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

oh, and that's called an "Opthalmic Migraine"

Ophthalmic Migraine

Migraine headaches may be preceded by a visual "aura", lasting for 20 to 30 minutes, and then proceeding to the headache. Some people, however, experience the aura but do not have a headache. This visual aura can be very dramatic. Classically, a small blind spot appears in the central vision with a shimmering, zig-zag light inside of it.

The day was productive - I didn't get any orders that day but I may a couple of great contacts. Am heading to Mass & NH this week to try to drum up some more!! Keep your fingers and a prayer or two for me. I need to sell 100 pallets this month to keep in business for another month. It is going to be hard since Landscaping season is winding down here in the Northeast but I am going to put my best foot forward!!

I want to go fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hissyfit::Sob: leave your mom at home, I would be much more fun! I will give you hugs!

soxmom 09-01-2008 09:43 AM

Hey all,
I'm in the northwoods of Wisconsin, looking down form a cabin at a beautiful lake...slight breeze, crickets, just heavenly. We brought the inlaws for the weekend to enjoy their cabin...

Prayers for Gustav survivors...

FinLady 09-01-2008 10:26 AM

Hi all :)

Checking in real quick. Got a lot to do today, so I better get stuff started here soon.

:grouphug: Hope everyone has a good day.

Kitty 09-01-2008 10:56 AM

Happy Labor Day to everyone! It's cloudy, windy and kind of warm here. Low 80's is the expected high today.

Not doing much today. Got some housework done. I have a watermelon in the fridge out in the garage that I need to cube up and eat before it spoils. I'm lucky if I get any of it - the boys love watermelon!

Since it's not too hot out I'll probably cook some for the coming week.

My sister in VA is coming down the last weekend in Sept. (27-28). She has a business convention in Atlanta and will fly in on Saturday, stay Saturday night with us and then go to her hotel in Atlanta sometime on Sunday. It will be good to see her again. I like these short visits!!

Kevin and his g/f are going up to Helen, GA today to hike. Matt has gone to the gym. I bought a Sunday paper yesterday and will probably try and read some of that this afternoon.

Just a quiet day. I hope everyone here has a safe, happy holiday! :grouphug:

SandyC 09-01-2008 11:39 AM

Happy Labor Day everyone! I forgot to take my laundry out of the washer the day before yesterday so I need to re-wash. Don't you hate that? lol

Sorry I forgot to call you back Renee! Chris was here for a bit and then I had to go out to get Jim's meds. We're trying Macrobid again. So far he's hanging in there. If he gets sick like he did last time on it he has to go into the hospital to have IV antibiotics. The bugs are only senstitive to Macrobid.

Please pray Jim can keep down the macrobid.

To everyone, have a safe cool holiday. Kay, those babies were born on Labor day. How appropriate. :-)

weegot5kiz 09-01-2008 12:09 PM

good afternoon all, hope the day finds you all doing well.

Renee hope you have a good day

Fin dont over do it now

Deb sounds really nice PICS???

yeah Sandy love that sour smell yummy:Bang-Head:

Kay when I typed that the other night I debated changing it, to that part of that song lol

everyone not much to say here, hope you all enjoy this labor day, with your loved ones

peace

NaeNae 09-01-2008 02:18 PM

Kelly-What did you say in them there tiny pink words LOL!!! I hear ya though.

Sandy :p :p :p

Thanks Frank

Was wondering how far Yabbit had to travel to go to mass...then thought....doh! Mass the state not the religious ceremony.

Fishing did not go well too crowded so I came home in the 100 degree heat and decided to work on that antique chest I have been working on....it is now ready for stain....but I am an overheated wrung out wet noodle with the sense of an earthworm for getting that hot.Especially when my cooling gear, is here in the freezer.
