double check all their school bags for notes that need mommies signature, After a few first days of schools i learned to double check their bags muy pronto
|
Strange minds think alike, Frank. I just put some ribs in the oven for roasting, LOL ;)
Got more done today, with the little breaks in between. Also helps I stayed inside all day and didn't venture into the heat at all. :D Dinner is the last thing I'm doing since my brain is getting foggy - great indication that it's time to stop. ;) Now hoping for a relaxing evening. :grouphug: |
yeah my outside ventures have been at a minimum, too warm out there, tomorrow if it cools down i shall get some outside stuff done whooooo hooooo
|
Tonight I hope it cools enough to open my windows and air out this house! Blech! I hate closed windows.
|
I read through all of your posts from the past two days, and I agree that a group hug is needed.:grouphug: I do not have the time today to respond to each of you, but please know that I am thinking about all of you.
I am doing ok. I am still dealing with vertigo. Usually, it just has been bothering me when I am laying down or on the computer, but I had a "spell" (do not know what to call it) while I was driving to school this morning, and it really scared me. I hit the brakes when it happened. I took an anitivert, and have felt out of it all day. This **** heat is not helping. I haven't told my neuro about this new symptom, but may have to call. I thought that it was improving until today. l I have to go back to school for a new student convocation tonight. I just want to stay home on the sofa, but I promised I would be there. Okay, so my whine is over for the day. I promise. Students are having a good time discussing the Sarah Palin vice presidency. |
thanks Barb for the group hug...
Frank..yes the kids are funny..the teachers here always tell them to tell the parents they have homework on the first day....so the kids always then tease us with the paperwork..saying the moms and dads have homework and the kids dont.....So time to fill out paperwork....wish you could just checkoff nothing changed..instead of refilling out emergency papers and all...over and oever each year...with five kids it gets tiring....hugssss,sarah |
Sarah, the worse part is you fill out the same thing over and over and sometimes the same card twice! What's up with that? I say let us go on the computer and input the information. lol
Barb, be careful in this heat. I know you have it hotter than me and Frank so please be safe. I hope you get relief when it cools down. |
Frank....I'm comin' to your house to eat supper tonight!! :p
We're cooking chicken on the grill. It's good, but it's not ribeyes! |
I think I may have cereal tonight. Hahahaha...no kids=no need to cook if I don't feel like it. Jim like's cereal too. Or maybe I'll make a bacon and egg sandwich. Mmmmm, that sounds better!
|
lol i do that in the middle of the night i love bacon and egg sandwiches, those and btl's. I can live on cereal too, but the kids dont see it that way
just got in, wind is picking up, sky is turning a little, think we may get that stuff, whats it called again .... oh yeah rain, sure hope so, i finally broke down and watered my lawn we get even odd days according to our addresses, so 31st and then the 1st worked out nice, it was getting a bit weak looking,, hope you all had a nice evening dinner was good, and just for yolks, my new med must be working a bit more that I thought, I did the last two nights cooking outside by grill in hot weather, and am ok, not great, but I am not wiped out either, so will take this and run with it:yahoo: peace |
Good for you Frank! Whoohoo! I opened my windows for that wonderful breeze! We're in test mode right now.
|
kelly its cooler where you are at at least till tomorrow i sure hope they are right about it cooling down
|
was debating that too but after cooking think i will wait another hour
|
Ummm, delete my last post.
Due to extreme humidity, the doors and windows are shut again. |
Well we are in the monsoons left from hurricane Gustav, expecting upwards of 12 inches of rain over next 3 days, guess I need to get my snorkel out!
Barb I have those, I can be sitting down and all of a sudden the world goes topsy tuvy and I feel the lights going out...it was one of my first symptoms, and have had it happen a few times this week, of course I still can't use my right hand or feel it for that matter! It is a very disconcerting thing though especially when driving! We had 3 1/2 hours of homework tonight UGH! |
Hi All,
I know I've been MIA, but I've been busy with yard work. :) I got a lot done and had a thread about it that a couple of you here have posted on. It's like nirvana for me to work in the yard. :D Give me a garden to keep me busy and I'll stay out of trouble. ;) The only problem is when I want to plant something that DH doesn't agree with. He always seems to come around though. ;) I hope you've all been doing ok. Sandy, how is Jim, and you? Vonn, how's the new apartment coming along? Sarah, I read about your sister today.... :( Renee, How's the job hunt going? I was hoping you'd get the one where you had them rolling on the floor laughing. :D What's better than a happy workplace? About your Mom.... :( Hugs to you.... Barb, how's school going so far? Frank, any new projects? Is Deb keeping you busy? :) Kay, how's paradise? Are you recovered from your vacation weekend? Finlady, how are things going? Did you save me some ribs? :o Kelly, are you ready for the rain? Char, I hope you're feeling ok and that your insurance will come through soon? Tkrik, you eventually adapt to the empty nest, lol. As long as you get visits and phone calls. :) Everybody, I hope you're keeping cool. These last few days in N. Illinois have been HOT! I was able to do some work outside, but I had to take breaks to cool off. DH had to do a lot of the heavy work. We had one casualty. DH was instructed to "gently" remove my serviceberry tree so I could transplant it to the backyard. Well, it didn't survive the uprooting. I feel so bad, I was attached to that tree. I guess I'll need to get another one in the spring. The Robins loved the fruit so much in June. It also had the prettiest bright orange leaves in the fall. <sniff> :Sob: Waaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!! Waaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Ok, I feel better now.) :o |
Hey all ...
3 posts away from 300 ... yow-za!! :D I'm sweaty and dirty, but too dang tired to take a shower. mostly recovered from weekend trip, but work piled up while we were away... pens to rake, compost to pile, weeds to whack... (*sigh*) today was all about going to town to buy a door for our hurricane shelter... simple, right? *wrong* no solid-core hardwood exterior doors to be found anywhere... so, we journeyed to the Mennonite enclave, and purchased lumber and hardware, going to build our OWN darn door. gotta get that emergency animal hurricane shelter finished... hurricanes are lining up like frickin' DOMINOES out there. and we've got lotsa baby animals to protect! Gustav's fading, but there goes Hanna, and here comes Ike, Josephine, and maybe even KYLE (still forming, not named yet, but that's the next name on the 2008 list) *shiver* this storm season is whackadoodle! other exciting news, brought a boar over from a nearby farm to service Becky Bacon... after we noticed she's in estrus... oink oink oink! piglets sell for, like, $80 each, so we'd like to try our hand at raising a litter of little piggies... oh, and the baby goats (Paul and Alia) are well, and prancy-dancy adorable. okay, Wiz, that's your funny-farm update... it's time for Kay to hit de sack, seriously! hugs all, sleep well, and Sandy? you can open the windows back up, it's cooled down now! hugs and kisses to Olivia and NaeNae... |

Good Morning Everyone - I should be on the road by now but I am running late, story of my life!
Ended up in the ER last night with DD #2, yesterday was a scrimmage Soccer game and she got pushed down and we thought she broke her arm but just pulled some legiments. 5 hours in the ER and we saw 5 other Soccer players in there!!! I would think that would tell the Doctor's something..... Last year we were at the ER with her 2 or 3 times just for soccer!! Once for softball.... that kid is a target for heads, other girls and balls!!! So I didn't get fully ready last night, I am tired today, right side of face is FULL of numbness to the point of pain, but I am still heading out but instead of a two day trip it will turn into a three so I don't cram myself to bad. I would rather relax and not push myself and spend the extra $$ for one more hotel room..... I will check in at night with you all - hope all is well!! wish me LOTS of sales, I need them to keep open one more month!! |
Keeping fingers crossed for you Char! Well the ones on my left hand anyway, still can't use the right! I remember well all of the ER visits in my softball days LOL I don't envy you or DD!! Love to you, be careful on your trip!
|
Hugs to my Belizean sister, now wheres the baby pics? I swear you exhaust me just reading about your days girl! Yes u need to finish that shelter, I don't want any babies floatin away!
Tricia-Ugh those EOM reports! Here's hope you get them done quickly and without banging your head against your desk! See you when you get finished! Wiz- good to see you! |
Yeahbut, safe travels. Sorry to hear about the DD and the ER. LOL, I remember having to be stitched up a few times when I played softball.
Wiz, No ribs left, sorry. I marinated them in BBQ sauce for 7 hours prior to roasting. Kept them from getting too dry, so hubby devoured them. :D Kay, Agreed. The tropical storm season is wacky this year. Even though he doesn't do it anymore, my hubby used to be part of the tech group sent with the CAT teams from the insurance company he used to work for. Ever since then, I keep an eye on the activity. Renee, sorry to hear the hand is still giving you issues. Hope it clears up soon. Vonn, Congrats on the test!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good morning all. Feeling a little tired and run down today. Supposed to be hot, humid, and air quality alert time again. Definitely staying inside today. I can't wait until fall!! Not sure what I'm going to do yet. Coffee hasn't kicked in at this time, LOL :D :grouphug: Hope everyone has a good day. |
Just popping in to say thank you for your kind words and hugs. They are comforting to me. Well one issue may be on the verge of becoming somewhat stable. That would be a relief. He is still moving to the basement. While I would like things to work out I highly doubt they will. My top priority is taking care of me and my kids. Find out what the legal rules are then ask myself on at least a daily basis if I should stay and try or get out. Things to do better run. Hope everyone has a peaceful day.
|
Char, please be careful on your trip and don't push yourself too hard.
Weave, still prayin' for you. Just take it one day at a time. That's all anyone can do. Trisha, I've missed you! I'm glad you're just busy with work. Kay, you wear me out, girl! But I know you enjoy it and the animals appreciate you. Renee, my right hand has been numb since October of last year. It's fun, isn't it?! I've learned how to do lots of things with my left hand! Vonn, great job on the test!! Fin, I think you and Frank need to have a cooking thread together! Wiz, wanna come putter around in my yard?? :p It could use some attention! Anyone I didn't mention...I'm sorry. It's actually pretty nice here today. Going to be in the low 80's and sunny. I'm thinking we're going to get slammed with rain this weekend because of Hannah. As long as my power doesn't go out I'm fine....crazy kat comes out when there's no A/C or lights!! :o Ya'll have a great day! :) |
Hey everyone! I got the bills situated last night and then watched tv with Jim. He got a little sick last night but he didn't eat as well as he should have. We were a little freaked but relaxed when he felt better. He ran a little temp too, just 99.2 so we're hoping the meds kick in. It's only day 3 so we'll give it till Friday. If he's not better looks like we'll be visiting the hospital. Please keep your fingers crossed for us too OK?
Today I am getting Jim up and then heading to buy some paint. It's that time of year to start painting my living room. Every since I went to all oak trim the cool colors don't look right. I am thinking khaki colors? Char, have a safe trip. Sorry about your DD but I am thankful those days are over for us! Renee, stay cool and dry! Hope your arm gets better. Wiz, the next few days are going to great for working outside! Sorry about the service berry. I just had two put in my front yard and from the way you describe yours mine are the same. Do you have the bush or tree kind? I think mine are more the bush kind but the landscaper said I could cut them to resemble a tree if I wanted. Weave, still praying for you sister. Kitty, we're having great weather too! 70's!!!!! Kay, you and hubby are very innovated aren't you? Hope the hurricane's pass you with little harm. Frank, windows are open again!!!!! Yea babay! I hope I didn't miss anyone! If I did you know who loves ya right? Have a good one everyone! :grouphug: |
Hi everyone! I am in my office typing this so don't tell. Okay? :D They actually do not care. We professors get away with alot. I think it must be one of the best jobs on the earth. We get paid to learn! I guess you can tell that I had a good class this morning. I have also prepped for my classes tomorrow and Friday. I have a luncheon to attend for faculty at 12:00. It is free, but we have to listen to some rather boring speeches and them I have a class from 2:00 to 3:40. After that I have a department meeting at 4:00 (:(). Then I will be really tired. It is still hot here (90s), and I am having to use my cane, but the dizziness is not as bad as yesterday. I did not think about the weather causing this until I read another thread on the weather.
Char, I hope you have a good time on your trip and that it is successful. Sandy, Are you going to paint your living room yourself or will you get your sons to help you? Hope the antibiotics work for Jim. Jen and Frank -- The two of you are going to have to stop posting about what you are cooking. I had a turkey and swiss cheese sandwich for dinner last night with pickels. I need someone to cook for me (too tired after being at school) -- but not Sandy. LOL! I do not want cereal for dinner Tricia, I have been missing your posts. Hope you catch up with your reports soon. Kay, Hope you do not get too much rain. Is this year unusual or is the media just making it seem like it is worse than normal? Frank -- I am glad the LDN seems to be helping. I am still considering it, but I would like my own doctors to prescribe it, if possible. I am such a big wuss about approaching my neuro about it. I have been putting it off until I have my appointment in November. HeyJenn, Have you painted anything new recently? Renee, I hope this week brings you better news regarding your job search. Wiz -- It is great that you have been able to work in your yard. I know you really seem to enjoy it. Hi Vonn and Weave! There I may have managed to say hey to all of you. :lookaround: If not I am sorry.:thud: |
Hey Barb, I'll do it myself. It's therapy to me. Besides, they are back at NIU. lol
|
Hi Sandy! I thought they might help over the weekend.
Hey Sarah! I am sorry. I missed you. Hope you are doing ok. |

http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/7868/dscf2918au0.jpg Paul and Alia, new baby goats, next to Leeloo, their mother'leg took me a few hours (and a few temper tantrums) to figure it out. my friend took the picture, but her USB cables didn't match, (*hunting around time*) then, mi esposo had to load a program to *deal* with it, on this NON-Mac laptop computer. hey, anybody ELSE notice their "learning curve" is altered due to MS? things I can do easily on my Mac (in pieces on the kitchen table, WAH !!) are by memorization and rote... but learning NEW things seems to come harder and harder, and my frustration is out of proportion to the task... I just expect things to be easy, and they're not. not that I'm dumb, just... er... um.... "hard of learning" lately! :D better pix later, gotta NAP again, lol! |

LOL Honestly? I'd rather do it myself because I'd be following them around watching and directing. lol I've always been like that. I have a control issue. :p Kay! How adorable!!!!! |
Aww, Kay, they're so cute!! :)

and yes, this IS quite unusual, according to the experts, to have so many named (and forming) storms lined up like this. Hanna holding its own against shear; Ike and Josephine continue to strengthen Posted by: JeffMasters, 9:22 PM GMT on September 02, 2008 With four named storms going at once -- Gustav, Hanna, Ike, and Josephine--the tropics are exceptionally active today. The last time there were four named systems present on the same day was on August 24, 1999, when Bret, Cindy, Dennis and Emily were all active in the Atlantic. http://www.wunderground.com/blog/Jef...?tstamp=200809 hope you're feeling better Barb... been thinking about you lots, and the struggle to impart knowledge to students numbed by entertainment, reality shows, and video games.. |
good afternoon everyone,
windows are open here too it rain enough to make it a wee bit humid outside, joy joy Kay they are adorable trish  Char please be safe enjoy and you are right a few extra bucks on one more hotel room, will keep you from over doing it Fin wonder if I should mention I made biscuits sausage and gravy for breakfast, or that I willb be doing beer bratwurst tonight hmmm, with homemade shoestring fries Barb, Please talk to your neuro, its not like you haven't tried just about everything out there with no luck he knows this, I would approach him and when he hems and haws ask him ok what else is there to try, If I recall you were near the end of meds to try, hang in there but talk to your neuro Sandy I hope Jim gets to feeling better:hug: morning Ladies I hope everyone's day is a good day |

Barb, from someone married to an italian, those bartello (please pardon my spelling) pasta frozen meals are pretty good. Stick in the skillet for 10 min., stir once - Poof! done. Can't tell his mom and dad though, LOL. ;)
Kay, Thanks for the pics of the kids. :) I hear you about the learning curve thing with MS. Old things, not a problem. New things, it becomes an adventure sometimes. Sandy, Hope Jim feels better soon without having to go to the hospital. Weave, Still have you in my thoughts and prayers. Kat, LOL. We lost our A/C once during a power outage. Hubby thought I was crazy for standing on the porch during a thunderstorm, but it was sooo much cooler than the house was. ~~~~~~ The cog fog has caught up to me, LOL. I do have a couple of paintings I think I posted to my albulm with forgetting to tell you all. :icon_redface: I have a background drying upstairs that I may work on the foreground later today. We have plans of finding the right lighting and re-doing some of the painting photos for the online gallery thing this weekend. My hubby's even pulling out his professional digital camera he uses for weddings. But right now, I hear the dishes calling in the background. :D |
Renee, Whohoo! Congrats on the two interviews
Frank, LOL. we don't do much for breakfast in these parts. Pop-tarts, cereal, breakfast bars generally make the list. :D |
Fin those are really nice I like the tree and your use of blue I really like in springtime bloom, nice
Renee good luck on interviews |
