Frank, I dare say I'd weigh 400 pounds if I lived at your house!! Fresh corn is so good. I bought some of those Ziploc steamer bags and cooked some corn the other night and it was fantastic! So tender and none of the mess of boiling it. Just steamed three ears for five minutes and it was perfect! You can season it before steaming and it's even better. Do Not put butter in the steamer bags, though. That doesn't work out so good. :o Those bags are good for green beans, too. I put the snap beans in there and nuke them for about 4.5 minutes and they're perfect - sweet and just a little crunchy but tender, too.

Ummm...thanks for checking in with us. You had us all worried...look at all the posts asking where you were!! Next time you're gonna be gone like that you have to let us know.....you're surrounded by worryin' women...get used to it! :p

:)me me me lol..but you got me on the first post hehehee

Hugss all..heading to bed, the pain in my body is so bad..hurts to hold my head up, hurts my shoulders to type...hurts my hips to lay down on my sides...what the heck..my ankles, wrists, hips, neck, back..shoulder blades...what is up??!!

Guess I tolerate pain pretty good, I am thinking some with this pain would show up at the ER...just dont think they can do anything for me, since drs cant figure me out....

I do go to drs next week, suppose to get blood work done for cholesterol..but gotta check on coverage...as last week I got a bill for $92. for my urine test...and I had two of them..so I will get another bill...for same...guess my labs go towards deductables..that maybe arent met???? gotta find out..not doing blood work unless it is covered....

anyhow, next week when at drs, I will discuss once again this pain that comes, the urges for the urine still having at times....tired of it all!!

Cant keep up with life...too busy, to enjoy it..I guess...just overtired typing here...gotta go to sleep ..hugss to all, sarah:):)

*sniffle*

:o:p:o

glad you checked in Frank, haven't posted much today, but reading along...

and worry-warting with the rest of the dames that hang around here.

big day here, two more hatching batches of ducklings (17 total)

wholesale market at dawn... scavenging repollo basura (cabbage garbage)

then, the big monthly run to the feed mill for 2,000 lbs of animal feed.

and went shopping too.

so, I'm purdy tuckered out.

the feet-burning-thingie has tapered off a bit (thank you, Lord!)

the leg/foot spazzes have mercifully been AWOL all day.

got a new TN (dagnabbit!) in my left cheekbone, making me a bit irritable.

so, I'm hiding out in my office with the computer, while mi esposo and guests have dinner (too tired to socialize)

right now, it's RAINING cats and dogs, I mean, raining so hard that the zinc roof is SINGING, and one practically has to YELL to be heard across the room.

this is the hardest it's rained since Tropical Storm Aurthur brushed by my neighborhood..

so we have to go out and check drainage, and overflow, and make sure the cistern's collecting properly...

no, wait, I'll send HUBBY out into the dark rainy night, LOL !!

I feel a sudden need to go to bed...

:D :) :D

Frank, Dinner sounded so good. I had 2 pieces of leftover pizza and for a treat a Skinny Cow ice cream cone. Was too tired to cook, which is often the case after being at school for most of the day. I'm having a slight pitty party for myself after reading your menu.:o

Kelly, I use those bags too. They are also great for broccoli and cauliflower.

Hope everyone gets a good nights sleepy!

Good night sarah, kay, kelly, soxmom, frank, sandy, jenn, renee, tricia, becky, bluesgirl, weave, vonn, wiz, lurkers, anyone I missed, and Johnboy!

I might of needed brain beano for the last post but I got you on the first one....

sniffle ...... did you not read my post sniffle .... lol

sorry about the rain, Happy about the quacks
you have a nice rest Kay:hug: dream big

Curious with these steam bags cant use butter? or shouldnt, what about cheese with the broccoli and cauliflower, im getting hungry again

Kitty 09-17-2008 12:54 AM

You can use butter, cheese, anything you'd normally use but just wait until the food is cooked and out of the bag. For example, butter the corn once it's out (and it will be hot!!). So be careful when you open the bag - do it away from your face! You can put salt, pepper, and herbs on stuff before steaming. I like to use them for broccoli and cauliflower, too. They make eating fresh veggies (versus frozen) so easy! My kids complain of the smell when I cook broccoli....cannot figure that one out since "smells" don't seem to bother either of them otherwise!!! Anyone with boys will know exactly what I mean!

BTW, I wasn't fussing at you before, Frank....just wanted you to know we were lookin' for you!! :) Just a bunch of Moms....sorta like pit bulls with lipstick, I guess!!! *NOT!!*

weegot5kiz 09-17-2008 12:57 AM

no biggie i just wanted to thank everyone for their concern and forgot to, so now what y'all doing up so late or are you already up for the morning?

Kitty 09-17-2008 01:08 AM

No...just cannot stay asleep to save my life. Seems something wakes me up regardless of all the precautions I take against it!! This time it was my cell phone...wrong number. At 12:30 AM! I should just turn the thing off when I go to bed...and I will start doing that from now on. I actually fell asleep at around 8:30 PM...then Kevin came home around 9:30 PM and had to come into my bedroom to talk to the cat......got woke up then. Then about 10:30 PM Matt comes rolling in...forgot his key so I had to get up to see who was knocking on the garage door...I don't worry about it too much cause I can always go back to bed in the mornings or take a nap during the day. My sleep schedule is just all whacky. If I were to sleep all the way through the night it'd probably worry me!! :o

So, Frank...what are you still doing up or have you not been to bed yet? :)
