I used to give people on the corners or medians a buck or two then I met this couple, well they were divorced but still stuck together in the miserable lives.

Anyway, this couple knew how to play the system and churches in the area. They got money and food cards out of them, at Christmas they got gifts for their kids, money and gift cards and I was so sickened at how 2 people who really didn't deserve all this were able to play the system. And here I was struggling to take care of my own family.

Because of them I stopped giving to strangers for a few months but after a lesson I learned in a bible study group I realized that I was wrong in my thinking. After I hand them anything it is theirs to do with as they please. If they buy alcohol/drugs then that is their problem not mine.

I give with a loving heart, open mind and a smile on my face. I also add a God bless to let them know He is there and I am just one of His helpers...Sue
