BOO to all you goblins!! (especially the one that ate all of Kelly's candy!!)
oooo, spooky ... I posted at 10:35 on 10/31 ... I was 4 minutes late! |
Poppin in for a second. I have to mow the grass and the boys are coming. I'll check back in later gators if the trick or treaters don't eat me! :yikes:
Oh oh, Jim and I entered a contest to get front row and backstage for the election night here in Chi town!!!!!! |
Hi all :) This morning was some running around businesswise. Have a few things that need taken care of still, and having not felt the greatest this past week didn't help, but it's getting there.
Not sure what we're gonna do for tonight. We got a last minute invite to go elsewhere for halloween, so not sure about that yet. Whether we stay or go, Hairy's going with us. LOL, it's a big realistic looking trantula (sp?) we've had for many halloweens. The kids love him. :D |
Happy Halloween....goblins and ghosts...
I went to work few hours, then I go tonight to count inventory....did that split so I can for sure trick or treat..hoping for treats only hehehehe I also bought, (well not my money hehe)...lots of candy and a pumpkin container to put candy at our McD counter so all the kids thru day can have one...plus another container of some fun mcd color crayons... Now home, getting a rest a bit with the youngens...then will get them ready and trick or treat 430ish...then work 7-11pm..counting 1,2,3,4 and counting some more... hugss to all, feeling pretty upbeat today, it is wierd but those feelings just come on at any given time...not sure what the heck...but new to me....so watching myself... hgsss, sarah |

Hi everyone,
Been dragging my butt all day today! Can't seem to get moving! Tomorrow is opening day for deer season so I need to get up early to be out there before they wake up! Wish me luck, I have the gun that my dad shot his first deer with, I am really hoping to shoot my first with it. I would really like to do it this year for I am not sure how long he is going to be with us and I really want him to see. Happy Halloween! |

Wiz, glad you're feeling better today. My SIL was at a rally last night and I couldn't see her in the crowd. She was about 40 to 50 yds away from the platform. So many people there!! Maybe if I make a big enough sign.........:) Who knows?? Sox, maybe the regular doc could have a sit-down with your ds and explain how serious head injuries can be........throw some hypotheticals/examples out there and give him some literature on head injuries and consequences. Praying for you both.:hug: Debbie D, Glad your dd is home. Have a great weekend together!:) ~~~~~~~~~~ I woke up a 5am today! For some reason, I've been waking up between 4:30 and 5 every morning this week. Not sure what's up with that. Doing some work around the house today and trying not to eat all of the Halloween candy...lol Just wanted to take a break and check in with everyone! Hugs to everyone and anyone I missed:grouphug: Happy Halloween!!! |

just got off the phone with the social worker helping me with my disability appeal ... and then the lawyer called me back and set up an appt on monday ... I'm pooped ... LOL |
Sarah I am in Maine.
Hi Tara! Vonn I am pooped to and haven't done much either! |
All right, Sandy, how'd you and Jim get into a contest to get into the rally downtown??? Let me in on the secret, and I'll owe you!!
|
Vonn, crossing fingers for your appointment on Monday
Sarah, Maddie's post made me smile. Thanks. Char, hope things go well tomorrow. |
AWWWWWWW, the trick or treaters are so darn cute!!! Hi everyone!!! Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat!
Debbie, it's on his website I think. They are picking five people. We got an email about it. Good luck! |
Well, we stayed home and gave out candy to the trick or treaters. Hairy was the popular one again this year, LOL.
Now a little wiped out, but had a great halloween. :) Have a great night everyone. :grouphug: |
We didn't get many kiddies this year. :-( Last year we had at least 50+ but this year maybe 25. I shut my lights out earlier than expected. Boo!
|
We got maybe sixty or so. We used to get more than twice that many. The little kids in the neighborhood are growing up. :) Before I got home there was a little girl dressed as a whoopie cushion. DH described her costume. :D Sorry I missed that one!
Vonn, Good luck with your Monday appt! |
LOL the first girl who came to my door was dressed as a hobo. The funny part is she looked pregnant instead of a big hobo belly!
|
turned out to be a most beautiful Cheyenne autumn day(indian summer or what ever yall call it) we had more kids than normal, and I did something I might regret we shall see. we got a neighbor across the lane and they have yet to participate in halloween yet their two oldest 16 and 18 come a knocking for candy i told them go home tell your mother to buy candy next year and hand some out or dont bother coming back they have a narrow steep porch and we see folks trudge up with their little ones only to be turned away and my kids all these years never got anything either and they are rude asinine and ignorant. let their stupid dog bark for hours and by hours i do mean 8 9 10 hours, always let their kids play in the street, and when they get hit by a car, I guarantee they will be the first to say how could this happen
:::::::::::::::::::::::SMACK::::::::::::::::::: Anywho we did have a lot of nice critters and creatures come aknockin |
Frank, ole boy, you need a slingshot! For ammo, I recommend Everlasting Gobstoppers, they're biodegradable and tasty, too. Shappy convinced me and she was right!
I had one trick or treater, my squishy little friend brought her mom here by car to bring ME candy and she even remembered that I like KitKat and Almond Joy. She's only six, and I almost never eat candy, so I was quite impressed. It was a little sad though, she went looking for Jack and I had to remind her that he went home. She's okay with it but she misses her pseudo grandpa who gave her surprises every time she visited. After our visit, I hit the road just in the nick of time, the little creatures were coming out of the woodwork! |
Well I had the worlds oldest trick or treaters, I had a group of four women theyoungest maybe in her 30"s ring the bell.....I looked at them and said...go to the store and buy your own damned candy! I swear. We had so many kids....mostly none of them lived in this neighborhood but were driven in that by 7 PM I was out of candy and I had a giant wash tub full! Olivia enjoyed trick or treating I only took her to about 10 houses in my neighborhood. I won the costume contest at work...pictures to come later.
The deer did over 3,000 bucks (no pun intended) to my car. It goes in the shop on the 10th but to add insult to injury yesterday morning I ran over a huge bolt and had to have the tire repaired before work. I'm beginning to think someone doesn't want me driving! The kid on the news that got shot while trick or treating in Sumter SC is where my ex hubby lives. So Sad and senseless! |
We had probably 50 or so trick or treaters. They were so cute....and polite!! They all said thank you before they left! I was shocked!
The last few really got a good deal 'cause I gave them the rest of the candy (I was tired and was going to cut the lights off after they left). I think the most popular costumes I saw was Snow White for the girls and a pirate for the boys. They were all so cute! |
good morning everyonehttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/basic/bye.gif
i am still on steroids http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/basic/bouncy.gif so been getting up at 530 ish to take meds been up a while got my coffee and ready to go sorry about my rant, but in defense even my neighbor agreed, she said she wish she knew I told them to step off, she would of told them the same. Renee sorry about the car, glad your all ok:hug: congrats on the contest. I had not heard about this child being shot. any killing of a child is unimaginable and senseless Kay I read that time warp thingy again, great Im singing time warp now:Bang-Head: I still dont get it even with some rest, please tell me it isnt that easy to understand, cause then I fear i am losing some of my deductive reasoning, frustrated I cant comprehend that time zone thingy, starting to wonder about me brain here is it live or memorexhttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/fc/dunno.gif Everyone I hope your saturday is a good day, I shall be about oh oh I have created a monster when deb sees this smiley i made http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l.../createphp.gif |

Frank's got a new toy....................:D :D
|
Frank, That's what I was too tired to watch last night - Rocky Horror Picture show. LOL, we know most of the "call outs" that make it so popular. :D We've watched it almost every Halloween.
Renee, Hope you get the car fixed up here soon, but glad you guys are ok. ~~~~~~~ Our cutest costume last night was a girl dressed as a pirate with a little puppy on a leash also dressed as a pirate. She called him her "first mate", LOL. Quite literally crashed afterwards. Hoping to get some stuff done this weekend after all that sleep. Hope everyone has a great day today. :grouphug: |
morning all you candy-lovers!!
finally slept good (took advil-PM to help tho) ... and one week of class is over. going to clean and putz today .. .and turn back clocks ... hmmm, maybe I'll do it now and really get ahead! have a great weekend!! |
Morning all! My youngest son walked out of the house yesterday with fake blood all over him. It kind of creeped us out because it looked so real. He kept coming in with more blood and asking us how he looked. He dressed as a Pizza Hut worker who was killed. We told him to go and have fun and please not to turn that blood to real. I did tell him to not get pulled over or have a minor fender bender because if he got out of that car looking like he did he'd give the other driver or cop a heart attack. hahahaha
I plan to put the basement back together today and watch CNN all day. I have anxiety and want this election to be over. Seems it's the longest election ever doesn't it? Frank, did you give the kids candy before you sent them back to their mom? *standing with hands on hip and tapping foot* lol Renee, pics, we need pics. lol Cindy, how cute! That's kind of tugged at my heart about her looking for your dad. Everyone else have a great day. The weather here is making me think it's spring! Tuesday is going to be beautiful and we hope we win. But this morning they said the five people will be picked at random. Sheesh, then why ask us to tell our story? Ugh. |
Hi all! Haven't been online for a few days, so thought I'd pop in and say Hello! We didn't have one single trick or treater, but we do live out of town on a major hwy. However, when we had our Halloween trick or treat at the campground 2 wks ago, we had 183 kids~~
It was alot of fun. Beautiful weather here in Illinois!! I love it!! Have a good wkend everyone...:grouphug: |
Sandy no I didnt they were too old in my book,
and a few others came up I looked at them showed them how much candy we had left and said sorry saving it for the younger ones, we are talking like 18 yr olds kids:eek: howdy DM weather yesterday was awesome here in Illinois, tomorrow and monday are to be nice ones again |
lol...at the pizza hut worker....
and good for you frank with those kids who are too old anyhow to trick or treat....same with the ladies out..wow.... best costumes I have seen are some of my crew that work for me....well one I didnt see but he shared on his phone camera a picture of the created costumes....him and his girlfriend were going out to party as tetris pieces...and he made them with McD fry boxes we saved for him./...they were cool.... the other character....that works for me, came to work (as I told them they can dress up...) as a Culvers worker..... well no culvers around..so told him it was ok ....lol... Maddie even walked up to a few houses toting a pumpkin to fill with candy...she loved the idea once she realized Ciara was getting candy...such a young age to learn...hehehehe Well, heading I think to church...not sure up to it, with the handfuls...the two oldest alter serve...either way...then to my parents, for dinner....my mom is making spagetti my favorite... well gotta run, hugssss, sarah |
I had a total of 11 trick or treaters. I gave them lots of candy and still have a big bowl full.
What to do...what to do..."putting back of hand to forhead" :p:D:p We used to get lots and lots of kids, even to the point last year that I sent daughter out to buy more candy. I live in a cul de sac and there were only 3 of us handing out candy so I am sure alot of parents didn't want to walk all the way down the street for 3 houses. THere is a big church a half mile away that had a huge carnival and concert so hopefully lots of kids got to go there and have fun...Sue |
there was a big Halloween Concert and Party nearby,
CAYO ROCK HOSTS CONCERT TO ASSIST FLOOD VICTIMS October 29, 2008 Cayo Rock, a non profit organization will be hosting their first fundraising effort this weekend. Cayo Rock was developed to raise funds to assist people in need in the country. Their first event is a Halloween Bash at the Novelo’s Convention Center in Santa Elena. http://www.lovefm.com/ndisplay.php?nid=8906 but we were too gosh darn tuckered out to go, after the last couple of days, (duck-house-mucking, stall-cleaning, shots for the goat with the (almost healed!) abscess, and birthing guinea pigs (six!), and modifying Becky Bacon's pen (she's due any minute!), and cleaning up after the month of storms, and restocking all our feed, and going to the Capitol (to the US Embassy) to VOTE... :D:p:D so, all we're good for is naps, and more naps, lol! |
Holy Cow, errrr I mean Holy Goat Kay! I'm pooped out just reading how busy you are.
I really admire the way you keep things going w/your animals and land. You are THE woman!!!! Take care and put your feet up; you deserve it. |

lol frank....thanks for sharing the pics....
if I knew how..I would share the ones of the youngest two...Ciara was a cat...white Marie from the Aristicats costume....(handme down from the girls I nannied...might have been expensive costume when they first bought it..but now thru three of my girls after two of theirs...) and Maddie was a duck...just a pull over your jacket with duck hood thing...cute... tired out...ran out and spent a half hour with hubby on his work break...long drive...but he had forgotten somethign he had needed at work..so I brought it out..and visited in snack shop of the casino with him. I did get to church, my mom kept the youngest two...so i could just sit quietly in church...good thing she did...between a limp as my leg was weak or numb like...and a bit of teary eyes during one song at church that got me thinking of my sister....good I didnt have the little two... hugsss and night all..dont forget to turn your clocks back, hugss, sarah |
Good Morning! We're taking care of some chores today....replacing the furnace filter and some screens on the sunroom. Kevin is going out to Home Depot for me soon. Matt is working a part time at a church...directing traffic or something.
We're planning to grill out tonight but will need to make sure to have the back porch lights on....it'll be dark at 6:30 PM!! Yea!! i love it!! :o I found a recipe for stuffed pork chops and broccoli pasta slaw on The Food Network website that I want to try. It sounds so good!! I'll go to the grocery tomorrow to get a few things I need and get all the ingredients for that dinner. If it turns out well I'll post the recipe! Well, gotta run. Laundry just finished drying so I need to go fold! Have a good day everyone! :grouphug: |
