Whew......I'm not believing all I've done since 7 AM!!
I've done two loads of laundry (not folded and put away but they're dry), made a carrot cake, made the orange/pineapple salad that needs to sit overnight, made the cornbread for my dressing, made one cookie sheet of "turtles" and snapped the green beans that will have to be cooked later today for my green bean casserole. I've had the TV on in the kitchen and watched The Doctor's while I was working. They did a makeover on a lady that was unbelievable. She deserved it so much......and she looks totally different now. She really did have some issues so it wasn't all just for "looks". I think I've done as much "prep work" as I can but this will definitely help me out tomorrow. Everyone seems to want to "help" in the kitchen and I like to work alone. This way, I can honestly say "it's already done"!! :winky: |
I survived!
Mornin' all! And what a beautiful morning it is. :D I went for my job interview this morning and it went well. I was encouraged when the librarian showed me some of the things I would be doing if I got hired. As I left to go home she said she would let me know soon if I had the job. She has to write up biographies for the candidate short list (I'm one of them!) and present them to the library board. The board will make their decision after prayer and discussion. I've got my fingers and toes crossed! I'm also doing my best to steer clear of anything that could jinx me. Much as I want this job I want God's will even more. Did the board decide yet? :D :o
My brick and mortar school kid has half a day today. I have things to make in preparation for Feast Day. My gift shopping is done. :yahoo: That would be Christmas and DD's January 2nd b-day. I have to make some gifts for Christmas but I think I will get them done in time. Stuff to do gotta run... |
Hi all.
Weird morning. Woke up, got a cup of coffee, wandered to the couch, and fell back to sleep for a couple of hours. :o Cold coffee doesn't taste that well, LOL. Got some stuff to do before we leave for the in-law's this evening. Got one thing done, and that was to get the cats prepped for us doing an overnighter - lol. Hope everyone has a good day, and if I don't get a chance to later - Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone. NT is on my list of things to be thankful for. Hi everybody...gobble gobble...
Kelly, I had a rotten night's sleep, but decided to stay in bed instead of getting up the way I had been. So you did beat me, but I was awake... Had my MRI this morning. Afterwards had trouble walking...off-kilter, you know? Tech asked if this was one of the symptoms I'd been experiencing...uh, yeah. But I usually get over the feeling after a minute...this time I had to hold onto the wall and walk very carefully to the car. I feel crummy now...but at least the off-kilter walk has dissipated. I didn't gain any weight this week despite being on the prednisone...last December I gained about 10 lbs. So the weight watchers is working, I hope, because I LOOK like a balloon in the Macy's parade...:o Weave, I pray that you get a call about getting the job...think positive thoughts!! I got the autoinject thingie from Shared Solutions yesterday, and a packet of information from them today...trying not to even look at all of it yet. Well, if I don't get back on here, I hope all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving. Please don't forget to take a moment to express quiet gratitude for those in our lives who love us, despite our flaws. And I am grateful for all my friends here...what a nice place for support, laughs, tears, and friendship...much nicer than our old home, too!! |
Somebody smack me! (Oh boy am I in for it now. :o) I mean knock some sense into me. (That might not be any better. :o)
I just got a call from my potential future boss. It sounds like she has already talked to the board about me as they had a question and request concerning my references. No big deal. Ever since I read about the job I have had a peace about it that terrifies me. Yes I'm overdue for something really good happening to me but landing the first job I apply for after many years of staying at home is just too much to even consider. Especially in this economy. Or is it? Welcome back oh WeaveHerr of little faith. Sheesh! Last thing I want to do is screw this opportunity up. :Bang-Head: |
And that is why we give thanks Weave.

okay, here's the trip report from yesterday, as I was too tired to do it afterwards, lol, wonder why?
thanks for all the prayers, my friends, you sure do help me get through the day! our first stop was Reimer's Feed Mill, where they explained biosecurity measures we need to take to prevent the spread of Newcastle disease.. we bought IODINE in large bottles for shoe-baths, and a US $38 bottle of the vaccine. it's a CHEAP medicine, that's enough for TEN THOUSAND birds! but that was the smallest bottle they had available. it's an ORAL vaccine, YAY... that means we didn't have to inject each bird individually. it's administered as a spray, or put in their drinking water. since we only have 200-ish birds, we're going to share the extra vaccine with our neighbors. the manager at Reimer's told us that the epidemic has SPREAD, to Bullet Tree, Santa Familia, Santa Elena, and elsewhere (villages surrounding us), so we're going to be passing out the vaccine to our village. protecting our neighbors protects US as well! the manager also said another whole FARM's worth of birds were slaughtered yesterday. he didn't have any new numbers, but he said the death toll has increased substantially since the initial report of 30k hope we can STOP this nasty thing in it's tracks. also of interest, Vonny, it looks like you might have been RIGHT... we were told that they suspect the disease came in from The Peten, with the flood waters, and crossed the border from Guatemala. the manager said they're still not sure, it's just a guess, but this disease outbreak will raise the losses from the October flooding horribly. anyway, we're glad we're now protected, and that's a BIG load off out minds. :grouphug: |
Yeah Weave! I'm glad to hear the interview went well. I'll keep you in my prayers.
