Sandy, Sorry to hear about Nik. How many girls did he kiss:eek:? LOL! Make sure his roommate(s) are tested too.
Plus, we professors often are a skeptical bunch. We have so many students with mono, strep, and with "dead" grandparents during exam time. So tell Nik to email all of his professors to tell them he is going to be missing tests, etc. He should also get a notice from Health Services and a note from his Resident Director when he gets back that he can use for documentation. If he is going to miss more than a week, you should probably notify the Vice President of Student Services. There, I think I have covered everything. I have finished grading papers -- now I have exams to read. Maybe! |
That's a great idea Barb! Thanks! He has emailed all of his professors and waiting for their reply. he shouldn't have any issues since he's an above 4.0 student but you never know. hahaha And it was only two girls. His ex and a girl from last week. lmao
Sarah, yes, it's true. Once you have mono you shouldn't ever have the sick feeling again. However, you can be a carrier the rest of your life. If it becomes active you wont have symptoms but you can pass it on to others. No wonder there's so much mono to go around! Nik is home and laying in bed. He took two Tylenol 3's and his throat is better. Hmmm, you think? I made him soup and he's tucked in. I also gave him strict instructions on using the two towels I gave him only and to use paper towels in the bathroom when he washes his hands. I also propped a huge bottle of hand sanitizer between his room and the bathroom. haha Jim's doctor said to not let Nik go near Jim to be safe and to make sure I wash my hands when near him and not to touch anything he touches. Get this, I was standing in the room with Nik and the ceiling fan is going. He coughs without covering his mouth fast enough and I just stared at him. He smiles that cute boyhood smile and said sorry. They say when a person coughs it comes out of the mouth at 60 mph. Add a ceiling fan and I was smacked with it. :yikes: |
LOL Sandy.....boys...
When mine were sick I'd tell them to flush their kleenex instead of putting them in the waste basket. I also changed the bed linens and pillow cases every day. I know...it's a pain but it keeps the germs away. I also sprayed their pillows with Lysol while the pillow case was off. Oh, and I used plastic cups that could be thrown away instead of glasses and ceramic cups. :o :o Yeah.....I was a germaphobe!! But they never stayed sick long! :p |
I love it when students come to my office to tell me that they are too sick to come to class, and then they hand me a paper that is due. I keep lots of hand sanitizers in my desk.
|
Yeah, like the customers that come in and count out a pile of coins into my hand, then tell me they've had diarrhea all day.
|
Hand sanitizer is a necessary item for cash handlers. Used to keep some by my cash registers when I worked in retail.
|
Just worked it out with my family. It's official and we're being invaded for Christmas. Now to begin planning. :)

hey ... hiya all ...
I mentioned 'relocating' to a friend ... and she emailed me back with the question: "...seriously spend some quality time thinking about WHERE you were happiest. Not WHEN but where, and start from there, don't just jump - ok?" the only place where I've been happiest is when I spent 4 days in Alaska alone in fall of 2004 ... |

I keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in the car.....and I tell the boys to do it, too, although I highly doubt they do. Whenever I pump gas I immediately do the "sanitizer thing" afterwards. People just don't realize how filthy those gas pump handles are!!:vomit2: |

So.......have you looked into housing there? What's the rent like? Is it cold year round? Do they even have a summer??? If not, I may join you!! :p |
