DH picked up DS from school today while I was at work. DS had a half day and DH's was half a morning. From there the guys stopped in where I work and got the nickel tour and meet the boss session. Proof that DH still knows how to be sweet he just doesn't do it very often. Returning to lurk mode... |

Merry Christmas to everyone here!! Have a wonderful day, whatever you're going to be doing, and don't forget to relax and let others help you. :grouphug: |
I will as most of you will be putting together the final preparations for the holiday.
I need to wrap gifts with the help of my daughter Krista 22. The Olhipie is begging for some frosted sugar cookies...I'll have to see about that one. Hope everyone will be safe and know that you all are always in my thoughts and prayers. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...aus_and_-1.jpg |

Glad it finally posted. :D Keeping my fingers crossed all packages will arrive today. I also hope you have a great time at your party tonight. Sarah - You're funny! Wouldn't it be great if all home invaders were that kind and considerate. LOL I hope you all have a great day. Don't know if I'll have time to be popping in over the next day or so. Therefore, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. |

Looks like we're going to have an icy Christmas here. It's in the 40s and rainy where I am, then supposed to drop back down to the 20s tomorrow. Looks like the white stuff is gonna be more north of us.
Have only one more thing to get today. Was hoping to get some kind of hint from my bro and SIL :Noooo:, so it looks like I'm picking up some kind of gift card with the emergency grochery grab I have to do today. Sipping down a lot of coffee. (would it be coffee, take me away? :D ) The kids have been great! Wishing I had a fraction of their energy, lol. Still it's been fun. :) Debbie, hope the kids get in safe. Sandy, LOL. Love the cartoon. Hope the party goes well. Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug: Have a very Merry Christmas!! |
SANTA HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!! okay - just a reminder that he will be showing up all over the world within the next 24 hours ... keep your fireplaces lit, cookies and milk proudly displayed ... and have a wonderful Christmas!! HO HO HO MERRRRRRY CHRISTMAS |
ay yi yi yi yi !!
got all the critters fed, watered, hayed, and cuddled. no guinea pig beebies born yet, and the chunttitos (turkey babies) are done hatching... looks like there's an even dozen, but *I* ain't reachin' under Mama to check, nuh uh! got the front ramp all hosed off, and now I get to SCRUB it (ahhhhhhh... the perils and pitfalls of having free-range birds involve LOTS of er, um, STUFF on the porch!) then, there's six ducks to pluck... so I'm hastily eating breakfast - homebaked bread, slathered with homemade cheese spread - a DELICIOUS spiced kinda-cream-cheese deal made from goat's milk. it's my wonderful hubby's jungle version of körözött: http://www.jcu.edu/language/hunghemu/korozott.html and now I'm sipping my coffee at the computer, checking email, Facebook, and my message board for expats in Belize... busy busy busy !! |
perhaps tomorrow would be a wonderful day for the guinea piglets to arrive, dont over do it Kay:hug: please try not too,
|
got the coffee going again:eek: and the double boiler going my butter sitting in it slowly melting with bakers chocolate sitting on the butter, it too will slowly melt and eventually with the help of some powder sugar :yikes: become chocolate fudge

Merry Christmas Everybody! :)
I'm at the office until 3pm today, still a bit worn out from Sunday but I get the next four days off. We're going to 4pm Mass tonight, then DH and I will spend a quiet Christmas Eve at home. Tomorrow I'm roasting a turkey with all the trimmings for us and the boys. We'll all exchange Christmas gifts then. I hope all that celebrate Christmas will feel the spirit of the day. All that celebrate Hannukah or other faith have a wonderful holiday season as well. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: |
Afternoon everyone. Nope I just can't seem to stay away for very long can I.
DH and DD left the house at 6 this morning to help pack food boxes for local families in need. Both of them came home changed people. Work was very quiet today. I'm sure icy roads helped with that some. I get my first paycheck on Monday. It will be tiny but all mine, mine, mine. :D Some baking needs to be done today and I need to make sure I have enough film for tomorrow. While the rest of the family goes to church tonight I think I'm going to light some candles and tickle the piano some :) before turning my bedroom into gift wrap central. A blessed Christmas to one and all. Thank you for letting me unwrap your gift of friendship everyday. You have no idea what that means to me or how closely I hold all of you in my heart. :heartthrob::hug: |
Hi everyone,
kids got into O'Hare an hour late, but then got put into limbo, since there wasn't a gate available. So they landed at 9:20, and got off of the plane at 11:50 pm...:( DH took a nap while we waited in the cell phone parking lot...I sat and waited. DD got into Milwaukee area around 7pm...she'll head down this way late this afternoon... I forgot about the inability to sleep while on IVSM...finally got to sleep about 4 am...then my DH forgot his cell phone in his pocket in our bedroom, and someone called him at 6 am (he was working out at the gym by then). So no more sleep. I'm going to try to catch a nap now. I am already noticing an improvement in my stiffness, ability to get up from a chair and walk normally...it's heavenly... Well, have a great few days, you all...the ability to get together and share with friends/family is the secret to later memories...and it's not what you have, but what you give...in the moments of laughter and love. Have a wonderful holiday (Hannukuh, Christmas, Kwanzaa)...:) |
Merry Christmas ALL!! and very big HUGSSSSSSSSs
Well we had a good Christmas eve, hung with the kids at home first, opening mom dad gifts...then to my parents house, dinner and gifts from them. Nice night, we were up LATE putting together some Santa stuff. Hense, when I went to church this morning, I went alone, my body was stiff and having troubles...so I choose not to take little ones..as I cant always hold them like a mom...sooooo I went with my son, who was alter serving... sat with my parents..the minute we got there...shortly after getting there my mo said THE words...How are you feeling today hun! well those words brought the tears, thru church, each song came on more tears flown down my cheeks.... reasons...1. think way too overtired..so I am an emotional freak when overtired. 2. (since hubby working today in day) I went alone to church not bringing kids due to my darn sxs. which made me tear up thinking of not having them there... 3. well you guessed it sudden rush of emotions of missing my sister, not that she is always here for Christmas..but thinking of her family and first year with out her. anyhow...once I got going, I kept clearing up...thinking of my blessings...then a song would ocme on...and teary me..... well I survived it, after my mom went to ask if I am ok, of course more tears, I finally dropped into her coat..for a hug...and she knew..some was Madeline, some was my health... anyhow, going to nap in a bit, as I said way WAY overtired, body is feeling rubbery, numb, and then painful stiffness in hands at times or feet.... when baby ready we are taking a nap, then later I am taking the kdis to my parents as she is cooking again...my mom spoils us... hubby will either join us there, or we will bring leftovers to him. He works till 630pm. He looked so HOT...he wore a suit..they can dress up for Christmas working at the Casino...not all do..but he looked so fine.... The kids loved the Santa presents, they are all enjoying them, hubby surprised Jasmine (9 year old) and the rest with a WI. or is it WII... anyhow she is playing boxing with Tony, family fun.. and good exercise I see... I want to tell you I am lucky to have all of you, thanks for always being here for support and love..you all are wonderful. I send hugss to all, this holiday season, remember to think of our blessings...as I have thanked My Lord, even though I was misty of losing a sister, and my health..>I thanked him for these adorable kids we are blessed with..and a wonderful hubby. for Christmas he got me a PDA< thing...for me to keep notes in..once we figure it out hehehehe he is wonderful, and thoughtful always, I thank heaven for him, hugsss, sarah |
Merry Christmas everyone, i hope your day is going well, and all are enjoying the day. We had a most wonderful Christmas Eve, and wanted to express both Deborahs and my wishes for all to have a most peaceful Christmas
|
Merry Christmas everyone! We had a blast last night with my family and friends. It warms the heart when so many people can get together and accept and love each other so very much.
Thank you all for your love and support this year. :grouphug: |
Nap was good, wow...needed it!! Hugss all and once again Merry Christmas!!
|
Sure is quiet around here. Everyone must be enjoying time with family, friends, and goodies found under the tree. Time for me to take out the trash and curl up with one of my new books again. Merry rest of the day.
|
well, I survived the Christmas Blues by keeping busy, busy, busy !!
missing my mom, my brother, and my best friend, all smiling down at me from Heaven. . . and my kids, all so far away... I miss them so much. :grouphug: so, today was chores all day, raking, sweeping, cleaning cages, and setting up new nestboxes (finished TEN, wowzers!!) then, DH and I plucked half-a-dozen birds, and listened to music, just feeling companionable, and enjoying each other. hubby made a GIANT kettle of soup stock, baked bread, and made a special cake for us to share... the turkeys finished hatching their eggs this morning, and there's 13 little cheepers... and two hens are busy with their 17 new babies... plus, all the eggs in the incubator hatched on Christmas Eve, so there's 40 more chickie babies, and we set them up in a brooder box in the shelter, as it's been cold at night (well, NOT cold like you Northerners have, but too chilly for beebies to be outdoors in a jungle coop, which is mostly made of screening.) life goes on, and the rhythms of farming ebb and flow, and I am content. :grouphug: |
poult pictures, pretty please

Ahhh....Kay, I know what you mean. Missing many people in my life.....my hubby, my sister, my Mom & Dad, my grandmother......but I know they are all OK. I hope they know how much they are still loved and missed by all of us still here to finish whatever we are meant to finish. We had a nice quiet day. Watched Christmas Vacation and It's a Wonderful Life. The Christmas Story is on non stop on a cable channel so I watched it today, too! We had lunch together and Kevin is now up at his girlfriends house and Matt has gone to visit his girlfriend and her folks. It's just me and the cats and it's nice and quiet....just the way I like it! I hope everyone here had a nice day....doing whatever made you happy. It'll be a new year before we know it. I hope it's kinder to all of us. :) |
AWww Kelly and Kay:hug: to both of you I know what you mean I too miss my nana and dad so much, it can be hard at times just to share one more laugh or smile, instead I just dig deep in my heart and they are both there smiling and at my side always
much love to all blessings and happiness always peace on earth and good will to all Merry Christmas |
We watched the annual Christmas movie with the boys just now. This year it was Fred Claus. That was the cutest funniest movie I've seen in awhile. If you get a chance, watch it. Chris is getting ready for his big trip tomorrow to Shreveport for the NIU Independance Bowl, Nik is playing xbox, Jim is playing xbox and I am here.
Renee, if your up and reading I thought about you today and hope it was a good one. I know it must be hard this year. I'll give a ya a call soon. |

My younger sister has five kids too, the oldest three are same ages as my oldest three. hugsss all gotta get on the road...hugss,sarah |
Sarah, Renee, Kelly and Kay, big   going out.
Frank, so how'd the fudge turn out? :Starvin: I made some German Chocolate cookies and they are gone. It's basically a cake mix cookie with mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and macadamia nuts. Sandy, glad you had a wonderful time at your party. :) ~~~~~~ Morning all! Coffee from Paupa New Guinea is brewing in the background (my dad picked some up for us at a confrence he had to go to in Australia) and preparing for the final round of invasion. ;) I am so thankful they were able to come down and spend Christmas with us. It has been a blessing and so worth feeling worn out. :) Been counting my blessings this holiday season and missing those who have gone on before. Mom and Grandparents have been on the mind a lot. That coffee is smelling really good! Now to go try a cup. For everyone, :grouphug::grouphug: |
hmmm fudge let me see i thought it was good as did Debbie, pretty sure Jim thought so too seeing every time he was near it he was breaking a piece of it in half and consuming it, not sure if the others got to enjoy it or not, and Sandy bless her heart was so busy making sure all were happy, that and flashing lol that is another story:eek:
I would like that recipe Jen, those sounded good, this really should be a two day holiday, it just not right funny thing happen to me on the way to the forum, I got an example of the meaning of xmas this year, I know its not about the gifts its the people, well this year was one of the best xmas ever, and for this I am grateful |
Good morning everyone!
I hope you all rest today after "overdoing it." :p We had a great day yesterday. It was a really unique Christmas this year and it was just so peaceful. DDs gave me the most wonderful gift. Christmas Eve as DBF and I got in to bed and I was getting myself "comfortable", I could hear the girls in their room giggling away and talking. It was so good to hear them and just brought a smile to my face as I settle down to get some sleep. On Christmas morning I went in to their room (linen closet is in there) to get something. There in DD17's bed my 2 girls were cuddled up sleeping. It was so sweet and endearing. What a great gift that was! |

Have fun shoppin' Frank!
I'm delivering some clothes to the shelter and then stopping by the store for cat food and bird seed and then staying in the rest of the day!! And Matt is going to be my chauffeur! So I don't have to do anything but go along for the ride! All ya'll up North....stay warm!! :) |
Morning! I may get out today and take down the outside decs since it's warm. Today is 42, tomorrow 50's! My mom will tell me I am going to get sick with the change in weather. lol I would wait until tomorrow and may do that, but we're getting rain so we'll see.
Sox, I hope it's not a flair. I hope your ds gets better soon too. Frank, why don't you just wait until tomorrow when it's going to be warmer? Rainy but warmer. Some stores online have lights marked down too. Whatever you decide take care of you OK? Kay, have fun with your guest! When does the mystery guest arrive? Trish, that is so sweet. My boys have been arguing. Must be a boy thing. lol Jenn, so glad your dad was there to spend the holiday. Sarah, be good to yourself and go grab a gift at break to yourself. Kelly, that's sweet of you to drop off clothes at the shelter. Whether I get out today to take down the outside decs I am definitely doing laundry today. At least a load. I am close to running out of my unmentionables. lol :grouphug: |
Sheesh....you'd think the grocery stores would be empty today....what with leftovers and all. Kroger was jam packed! I got my cat food and bird seed and got out!! It's sprinkling here and windy but not too cold....in the 40's. Saturday is supposed to be in the upper 60's but colder weather is coming in next week.
The clothing we dropped off was for a 15 year old boy who lives with his Dad (returned from Iraq due to injuries and then they were burned out of their apartment :(). You know, this government of ours doesn't do much for returning service members.....makes me really mad 'cos they sure do expect a lot out of them when they send them over there. Don't get me started on that subject..... Anyways, a local church is providing them with a residence for now but they need a permanent place to call home. I wish so badly I could win the lottery.....I'd be rich for about 2 days! I have an apple/walnut/raisin pie in the kitchen that I bought for dessert yesterday and it still hasn't been cut! Wish I was hungry so I could have a piece of it! I'm still full from all the eatin' we did yesterday! Think it's time for a nap. I was up and down last night for some reason. Woke up the first time and it was 11:11 PM.....Sandy, you told me about the angels that like to play jokes at that time. I seem to look at the clock at that time every day....AM and PM. They must be tryin' to tell me something! Sandy, I like your new avatar. Ya'll have a good day....don't shop too much! :) |
Joke of the day. DON"T KILL ME! LOL
