Morning all. Getting ready to get going for the bro to come over.
Momma, my new years resolution is to not do so much, not worry about everyone anymore and learn to say no more often. I am so wired right now and my tummy is hurting. I'm thinking I am going to have to pop a zanax to stop tripping over everything. I just need a few weeks to gather myself back up after the holidays. Plus I get a little misty closer to the new year wondering about the next year and what will be in store for us, etc. I don't mean to push anyone away and sometimes feel guilty but I have to do this to get my sanity back. Ha! Do I still have that? lol Anyway, not going to vent about it here. I am just going to take care of me for awhile and let things be. Those who are closest to me will understand. Those who don't, well, I just don't know. I know you all get it and that's why I love this place. Thanks for your story. I am not alone in my thinking and that makes me feel better. Anyway, Jim is playing Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader. He wants to be on that show and we're going to sign him up after the 1st. :D |
Sandy:hug: you try to take it easy, wish I had more than a cyber hug, dont fret none today its your bro he knows where everything is and if not direct him there are the beers there is a seat sit drink spend time with Jim and let me rest
|
Ha! My niece will be here too so that means I have to keep her company. She's a pre-teen God help me. lol
|
Hi ho everyone. Sounds like everyone is surviving and so am I. We had a 3.4 earthquake yesterday during the night. No damage but it did freak me out a bit. Not my first earthquake but they are kinda rare here. Tomorrow the kids and I go to my parent's house for the day. The kids would rather not. Someday they will wish they had grandparents living they could do things with.

howdy - doodies .... hope you are getting ready for a fun celebration in 3 days ... nope, me neither!! LOL ... watch the ball drop and crash out myself - on Thursday - heading to a parade in the town that I'm considering relocating to ...
been downsizing so much that I have space and room that I don't have 'stuff' in the way!! I have a carload going today over to Goodwill ... hugs to everyone - I'm still in downsizing mode ... and excited about working on finishing some projects ... and designing a scooter back-rest cover ... something that has been on the back-burner for awhile ... be good ... stay off the ice ... and wear your steel toed (Herman Munster shoes) when you go out today for those of you with some REALLY breezy weather!! Kay - I love your duck on top o' the world!! |
Just sent Nik off to drop off a specimen for Jim. Please pray he's sensitive to an antibiotic so he doesn't have to go in the hospital.

Im on it Sandy!!!!:hug::hug::hug: |
praying for Jim... hoping it's minor, and not requiring any hospital visits.
 my elbows have been collapsing lately when I climb into bed, so I've been using another entry method, leaning forward with my arms "locked" today, that gained me a SPRAINED wrist (wah wah wah!), and zilched my hopes for a nappy. (too busy getting ice on it, and wrapping it up, and whining) oh, do you know how hard it is to operate a mouse while wearing an ace bandage? and it's hard to TYPE too !! :p:(:p |

I'm on top of the world lookin' down on creation And the only explanation I can find Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around Your love's put me at the top of the world lol, sometimes I think my brain's still stuck back in the 70s. :D:rolleyes::D |
Hello all....it's been a rainy, dreary day here today. I've gotten a few things done around the house. Thought I'd have a long nap this afternoon but never got sleepy enough. I was up nearly all night - don't know why I couldn't sleep. I finally fell asleep probably around 3 AM but was up again by 7 AM. Oh, well. Guess I'll sleep when my body needs it!
One thing I learned last night....the hard way....was to NEVER snoop in a desktop file labeled "crime scene photos" unless you're ready to see some real crime scene photos...... And I wondered why I couldn't sleep......... Lordy, I know now why I'm not a police officer OR in the medical field! :vomit: |
My brother has left and now the house is quiet again. It was good seeing them. My niece was a doll and only talked about 150 words a minute. lol I may get that nap in afterall. Whoohoo!
|
SANDY HUGSSSSSSSSSS and woohooo for quiet!! Hope you ace that new years resolution...good idea for one!! (also prayers for Jim health)
Vonn, you are always downsizing and minimizing hehehe by now you should have nothing to speak of hehe just teasing...luv and hugssss Cayo sorry about your wrist, when it hurts or trouble to type you are suppose to not type...hahahaa  wow how could any of us quit this...I know I have tried to slow down wihtout success hehehee Frank, you keep doing what you gotta do, but carefully and pacing yourself!! from another who always doing something hugsssssss Well, I came home after work...fell asleep with hubby during his nap...and when he headed out for work..barely remember the good bye...slept till 6pm from 3ishpm yeahhhh although then I feel like I missed time with the kids..but I know I gotta listen to my body..hugsssss,sarah |
I just wanted to say a quick hi to everyone. I am also ready for some peace and quiet. I have had enough quality family time:) I will be headed back to Illinois on the 30th -- plan to take two days. So I will be back for a quiet New Year's Eve. My family can't understand why I do not want to stay through the 1st. "Big Sigh!" Hope you all are doing well. I have not been able to read all of your posts. I do not have the patience to deal with dial up service.
|
hugss Barb, and I understand wanting peace and quiet..hehe
I am hoping for a more peaceful year too!! Hoping we all have a good 2009! heading to bed very soon, Maddie is wiped out and sleeping already! she didnt have a nappy like mom did today! hehe I might read a bit, my new book from hubby from Christmas...the newest Nicholas Sparks book!! love his books woohooo:rolleyes: Hugss and good night to all, sarah |
Hi Barb! I was wondering how your visit was going. I don't blame you one bit for wanting to spend some quiet time at home. Spending time with family is nice (and important) but if you're anything like me you cherish your time alone. I'm not sure I could have lasted as long as you did!! :o
|
Hey everyone! Happy New Year a few days early but what with the way I have or aherm have not been posting lately this is probably the best day to say it! LOL Sandy is going to kill me if I don't post so here goes......
Had a good Christmas all of the parties/family things were exhausting, the kids had a great time though, yesterday and today I pretty much vegetated although I did take down the tree and all the decs today. Early but if I didn't do it today they'd probably still be there come March! I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and didn't overdo it although I know we probably all did and here we are creeping up on a new year and I would be remiss if I did not tell you guys how much you all mean to me and everyone here in our little home away from home! Here's hoping the new year brings us all............. A cure for MS! (A girl can dream right?) Universal legalization of marijuana! (still dreaming I know) universal healthcare (a system in which we could actually get said healthcare before we die) At least 5 days a week free of pain,fatigue,spasms,tremors....whatever ails us! Great sex on a regular basis! Enlightenment for others who cannot or will not understand us. Everything we eat suddenly makes us skinny instead of fat (back to the dreaming again!) At least one good friend to laugh, cry, and yell with! I have mine already ( luv ya San) The ability to realize that we really are the lucky ones. The ability to have our voices heard. I am so glad I got to know each and every one of you over the past few years some longer than others some I keep in touch with more than others but know that you are all always in my thoughts and in my prayers and I am always but an email or a phone call away from all of you...LOL or you may leave a message with my secretary Sandy she gives me daily progress reports, Aherm speaking of which, Frank, this is your friendly prevert nurse telling you to slow down and take care of yourself ya hear???? And to my Belizean soul sistah luvs ya g/f thanks for all of the wonderful photos of the offspring at ChezKay and always keeping my babies in your thoughts! And to Sandy my true soul sistah thanks for being there for me the past few years listening to me laugh cry, beach and whine. You and Jim are truly the kind of friends you know were sent from God. To my newest soul brotha Moi, thanks to you and the mrs for taking this geechee girl in and embracing me, not everyone knows what you two do but I do and there's a special place in heaven for you guys. Love to ya both And again thanks to Jenn for the window on the wall over my computer screen that allows me to sit back and daydream. To those who I didn't specifically mention it isn't because you mean any less, but I am seriously falling asleep here! I LOVE U ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Hi everyone! I am glad to see that you all had a great holiday. I read the posts but will not be able to pass the test on responding to them all. LOL.
I spent this weekend at DBF's doing laundry and helping to get the motorhome ready for our mini vacation over New Years. I realized something while doing this. Sometimes I can do the laundry and clean all in one day and never feel like I over did it. Not so this weekend. I spend Saturday SLOWLY cleaning the motorhome taking lots of 15 to 30 minute breaks as well as an hour nap. Sunday, my legs were screaming at me. What the heck? I don't get it they've never rebelled like that when I have taken things slowly. Does anyone notice that some days you do things and your body is just fine with it and other days it is not? I think that is why I have a tough time learning to pace myself and not overdo it. Going from limited memory here . . . Renee - I want all of that this year too! LOL That was cute and very sweet. Kay - Have fun with your visitor. She and I were going to try to meet up before she left but it won't work out as I won't be able to make that trip to her DDs. I hope your wrist feels better by then. Kelly - So, what did you read? Huh? We want details. LOL It's no wonder you didn't sleep well that night, silly girl. Barb - Have a safe trip back home. Sandy - Hope Jim starts feeling better and the tests come back with specific sensitivities so that he can be on an antibiotic that will get the little buggers out of him.:hug: Frank - I am not so sure wastewater management and sewer patrol would fit within your limitations. LOL Silly boy. What were you thinking? OK, I know what you were thinking and it actually was very thoughtful of you to do that for all of your neighbors. Maybe next time you can get them to help out a bit. Well wishes for all that I missed. I am thinking of you as well.:grouphug: |
Quote:
YES!!! I never know when my body is going to rebel against me.....that's why it's so hard to know when "enough is enough"! I guess I should learn to do about 1/2 of what I think I can get away with...then I should be OK. And it wasn't what I read....it was the pics I came across!!! Let's just say they weren't topics for dinner conversation! |
hello all howdy preevert girl
sorry I appreciate yall worries, but I got MS and not doing anything will not make my MS any better so I might as well do stuff, while I still can, I rested the past few days as much as I could, considering all the holidays carpadm speaking of which where is the pixie dust girl she gonna swing her tail feathers in here and say howdy????? |
amazing how a song can just pop in your head and now that I have Debbie singing I thought I would see how many others I could get sing
sugar ah honey honey you are my candy girl and you got me wanting you...... |
Kell, my mom studied profiling and forensics in an amateur fashion, taking a few community college classes, after I was grown.
she used to pass on crates of books on criminal profiling, serial killers, spree killers, and just garden-variety murderers. normally, I'd just send them on to the thrift store (ugh!), but when I was on enforced bedrest, and there was nothing *else* to read, well... put it this way, I know FAR more than I want to, about the subject !! later, a stepdaughter joined our family, bringing with her a taste for horror flicks, and Elvira's late-night show... I didn't watch, just endured the soundtracks from the next room. fast-forward to today, my DH has a prediliction for shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, and DEXTER... so. for our nightly hour of "Jungle TV" (watching downloaded shows on the computer, lol!) since HE's the one with the pirate-skills, he chooses the shows (although I do submit lists of NICE movies), that's what we often end up watching. this weekend's movies (his choice) were The Alphabet Killer (HORRID MOVIE, do NOT go see it!) and MR73 (an EVEN SCARIER MOVIE, it gave me nightmares !!) Alphabet Killer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alphabet_Killer MR 73: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0920470/ Kell, I don't envy you, having seen those crime scene photos, it's difficult to erase those images from one's brain............. I suggest playing some soothing symphonic music, or reading a NICE novel... that's what helps me do the Brain-Etch-a-Sketch thing. |
Hi all. :) Won't reply to all the posts, but did read through them. :grouphug::grouphug:
Was offline the last two days 'cuz we went to visit the in-law's. MIL is doing so-so. She seems to be recovering slowly from the surgery, and is having some issues. She sees the doc again in Feb. - hopefully they'll get her into some PT if everything is looking ok. My family got us a Wii Fit for Christmas. (my dad has the amazing luck of being one of the first in line after a truck comes in with hard to find items ). The little thing is a little insulting by making your Mii chubby if you're overweight :D, but it's a blast to exercise on. I might actually get into a regular exercise routine with this. :) Now sipping coffee and hoping to wake up. Which reminds me - the coffee my dad got us is great! We like strong coffee, and we loved it. Hope everyone has a good day today. :grouphug: |

:D it's just a leetle bit achy today, not shrieking pain any more... YAY !! |

that's what I crave most days... just communing with the animals, doing my chores, or curling up with a book. I think it's because I spend so much energy *screening OUT* all the false MS messages... like tingling, burning, parathesias, leg spazzes, trigeminal neuralgia, headaches, blabetty blah blah blah... that there's just simply not the energy to converse for very long. Quote:
with my jungle-DSL (with a speed almost as slow as dial-up) I might get VERY frustrated while I wait, and wait, and wait for pages to load. but with my leetle trick, I always have something to do or read on *another* page, underneath. and travel safely back home, Barb !! |

I have to admit, I'm guilty more times than not of also being stubborn. Seems to be a prerequisite, lol. :D |
not me lol

also, your avatar helps remind me of your gorgeous little girl. your leetle ChezKay duck-update: Mermaid is now happily mating with several drakes, and wandering around the property, seeking succulent greens and bugs to dine upon. and Cinderfella, well, I gotta tell ya, it must be the Boy-Named-Sue stigma, as he's quite the aggressor in HOT pursuit of anything that moves... :D by the way, Lady Olivia is now an adult, and yesterday, I saw her examining the new nestboxes. she poked her head into each of the boxes, fiddled with the straw bedding, and rearranged a few pieces... she even spent about ten minutes trying one on for size... YAY !!! I took pictures (of Olivia, for Olivia), but I can't get them to upload, my laptop can't "SEE" that the camera's hooked up, and won't upload... SIGH !! also, I think I already told you, Olivia has now become an expert flyer, swooping gracefully between the mango trees in the orchard, and doing TEN-POINT perfect splash-landings in the pond. she's become the most lovely little lady, and I can't WAIT to see who she chooses for her mate, and also, am waiting very excitedly to see her babies !! :grouphug: |

I do believe I detect the odor of pants burning... :D |
Just a quick pop in. I am sick today. My stomach has an alien in it and it's moaning bad. If I don't see you guys later know that I am thinking of you. I read all your replies but am not up to posting. I know you understand if I just lurk for now.
|
Rest and relax today Sandy take care and lurk all you want, take it easy today, hope you feel better real soon:hug:

Howdy folks! I wasn't supposed to be here today. This was my day to take the kids to my parent's house and veg there all day. Unfortunately I got sick yesterday (Sandy ) and decided to postpone my plans. I wasn't sure if I was contagious or not. I think a bit of expired food did me in. :o Anyway I am doing much better today but taking it easy so I can work the next two days.
Speaking of work I picked up my first paycheck today. :D I went shopping after that and spent 90 cents. :p I'm trying to decide if I'm gonna go after an online certificate now (Last chance! Act now before the price goes up!) or wait. If I could pay it all now I would but I have to use a payment plan that will take me 1.5 years to pay off a few months of education. Will have to crunch some numbers now that I know what my paycheck will be a decide soon. Time to get some ginger ale and curl up with a good book or something equally nice. :grouphug: Hugs all around. |
hey all,
Well, please say prayers for my family, well my daddy!! We all did have colonoscopys, back years ago when sister found her cancer. All were clear. My dad did have polyps back then but cleared and no problems. We all are suppose to do the test every 5 years, and parents every 3 years! So my dad, I guess had his colonoscopy once again today, since been 3 years or a bit more. Well, yes you guessed it, he not only had polyps that were removed, but a spot, (I dont have info size of the spot) anyhow, he said, that they took sample to biopsy it, but that he warned them that by the looks of the spot..it looks malignant!!! :( Well, then my mom asked if it does end up malignant what is the next step...they mentioned Mayo. Not sure if just cause we are in small town...as many around here have done cancer stuff closer...or I am thinking with his age being what it is! He is now, 76!! Healthy mostly otherwise. He has been so quiet, ever since losing Madeline, and for month or more after she passed away I know my dad wasnt sleeping much! mom was worried..you know some men...quiet when dealing with sadness.... anyhow, guess they will hear in few days! i happened to call over there after they had just gotten home with the news. She mentioned (as I was driving home from work as we talked) that she will call me back later, she wanted to talk but not when I am on the road....I knew what that meant..just didnt know who was the bad news about. So I said NO, Mom it is ok tell me now. So, here we go with Cancer most likely in the family!! |
Now that I got that off my chest!! had needed to share, since just told bit ago!!
Otherwise, things are ok, work is work!! Lets just leave that as that!! trying at home to forget about work :( trying anyhow.. Kids or one of the kids, is buggin me to take them to movies...since we havent in so very long...I might just suprise them and take a few to Marley and ME! maybe, as I am tired out...as always!! luv and hugss to all, sarah |
Quote:
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, Sarah. I'll think positive thoughts....maybe the news will be good or better than you expected. I'd love to go see a movie....haven't been in years. I just cannot sit that long. Have to move around or I get so stiff I walk like a zombie for quite a while after I finally get moving! I miss going to movies. We used to go on rainy weekend days. Such fun! |
Just popping in again to let you guys know Jim doesn't need to go in the hospital. The culture showed mixed flora meaning it is OK for now. That is a big relief for us.
