Frank, you need to stop while you can still think straight! You've lived without whatever it is you're buying today for the whole year.....one more day isn't going to hurt! Take care of yourself!

weegot5kiz 12-26-2008 01:42 PM

I am taking it easy now:rolleyes:

none of these jokes... oh never mind I will get banned just asking about a snow blower:yikes:

SandyC 12-26-2008 03:20 PM

weegot5kiz 12-26-2008 03:36 PM

Is Nik ok I imagine he feels bad, I know he spoke so highly of both of you the other night, he is such a talker too lol he is a good kid, Hope Jim is feeling better

SandyC 12-26-2008 03:44 PM

Wait, why does Nik feel bad? lol

SandyC 12-26-2008 03:46 PM

Oh and all of my outside decs are down! Whoohoo! I broke a few things due to the frozen crap but oh well. Next year nothing but the porch is getting done if that. My electric bill this month was $198!

weegot5kiz 12-26-2008 03:47 PM

wasnt it Nik who was helping you transfer Jim?

SandyC 12-26-2008 03:53 PM

Oh yea! I forgot about that!

Hey, look at Christmasdepot.com for lights. I am not sure how many lights per string but they have lights there.

CayoKay 12-26-2008 06:52 PM

I'm not sure... possibly, maybe, perhaps?

:D

got the bed all made, everyone fed and put to sleep, took my shower, and now about to eat dinner...

today was a lovely perfect day, sold half a dozen chickens, and had 9 visitors for the holiday...

and I never got my nappy, whoops !!

I'm probably going to fall ASLEEP, face-first in my dinner, lol.

:p

Momma's Kids 12-26-2008 10:17 PM

That's ok if you fall asleep in your dinner...when you wake up, your face will just be closer to the plate. lol

Enjoy your guest.

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

so just home a bit ago from work!! YES you read that right....ugggg

I worked 7-3, then as the 5-11 guy manager called in stuck somewhere due to car troubles... since getting to this store realizing I have too many managers that dont really care a hoot... you know resposibility... hmmm if my car doesnt work...I gotta find some way of getting to work . he was out of town an hour away but he called so early in day!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyhow sorry, had to vent. I didnt come home between shifts, as the weather is terrible.... so why drive home and back. sat there resting my legs.

feel good while working, but then once slow down body...stiffness is starting. I will take some ibuprophen but dont think it will touch what I am in for overnight....

hugsss all, sarah

sabimax 12-26-2008 11:53 PM

oh good part, I went ahead and covered tomorrow shift of mine, I would rather that then overtime..gotta listen to my body first!! hugggs, sarah

SandyC 12-27-2008 12:36 AM

Sarah, sorry about having to work a double. You know what I used to do when someone called in? I said "Oh that's too bad about your car. Why don't I come and get you and you call for a rental or ride to get home?" lol

Trish, I am so sorry I didn't call you back the other day. Please forgive me. I just listened to your message and remembered you called. I was so busy getting ready for the party it slipped my mind.

Blessings2You 12-27-2008 06:38 AM

Hugs to you, Sarah, I hope you're snoozing soundly right now, or at least snuggling in bed with sweet little offspring.

That was the big disadvantage of my job. Bob would say, "I wish you didn't have to work tomorrow, you're already exhausted." And I would say, "Nobody else can, and I'm the boss. I have no choice. It's part of my job."

Even when I had the day off, it was always in the back of my mind that the phone might ring, and someone say "I'm sick and have to go home" or "there's a problem with the equipment" or such. I was never really "off". Many's the time I was in my jammies, feeling lousy, and I'd get "the call" and start suiting up.

Now I'm off.

Hope you get rested today.

Kitty 12-27-2008 09:19 AM

Kay, I love your new avatar!! So cute!! :D

weegot5kiz 12-27-2008 11:12 AM

Blessings2You 12-27-2008 12:04 PM

It's Saturday? :eek::confused::eek:

weegot5kiz 12-27-2008 12:15 PM

BTY it took me some time to get the day thingy correct and dont even ask me the date:yikes:, without working everyday it gets to me too

SandyC 12-27-2008 12:31 PM

I am good with days, it's the date I mess up.

Nothing going on here today except laundry. Jim may have another uti so we're on bladder watch. I doubled up his dose of macrobid and the doctor said he would have done that too. We'll drop off a specimen today or tomorrow if he doesn't show improvement. I think all the xmas activities may have taken their toll on his body so the relaxing after should help. He's sore and tired but in good spirits.

If he doesn't go in the hospital we're planning a low key new years eve as usual. We've done that for years after our bodies stopped being able to handle the all night parties. It's gives us time to reflect on the upcoming year and what has passed and just enjoy each other. We always kiss on the strike of midnight and tease we made out for two years! lol

What does everyone here plan to do on new years eve? :D

And now for our joke of the day and last one of the year:

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...men-cigars.jpg

weegot5kiz 12-27-2008 12:37 PM

I hope Jim gets to feeling better and its not a UTI, I will try later to ring him on the telly, we got company coming over in a few, although calling Jim can be good for me to get out of dealing with company:rolleyes:

soxmom 12-27-2008 12:47 PM

Good Afternoon Everybody!

B2Y,

This is Saturday? Thanks for the reminder, lol. :D

Sarah,

Get rested up and enjoy those little ones Sweetie!

Frank,

Isn't this crazy weather? I hope the trailer park in Sycamore doesn't flood, it's bad enough when it happens in the spring or summer.

Sandy,

I hope Jim will feel better soon,:hug:hugs to both of you. BTW, we celebrate New Year's like you do, but we do have a bottle of champagne too. Yum. :)

Kay,

I like your new avatar too, how cute is that? :)

Soxmom,

Try not to overdo it!

Kitty, Momma, Weave, Renee, Fin, Frank's Deb, Tricia, DebbieD, Tamiloo, Vonn... Anybody else I might have missed.... :grouphug:

My update:

I'm still in my robe, having my lunch at the computer. I did play with Rocky today so... so far, so good. :) He got a new toy for Christmas, a stick with a snakelike thing attached with a fuzzy ball at the end and feathers. :D Also, DH fished all of his sparkly pom poms out of the sump pump hole. The little stinker was shoving them down through a little hole in the cover. There were 15 down there. DH is keeping busy with little jobs around the house, and not saying anything about me sitting here and just vegging, lol.

I have a back injury that's a few years old. I overdid it the past week and it woke me up during the night throbbing with pain. I'm taking ibuprofen to get the inflammation down. I need to see a back doctor for that sometime in the new year if for nothing else than to know it's not something bad.

I have a mountain of laundry to start today and I need to pay bills. We go to church tonight and there's nothing else I really need to do for the rest of the weekend.

Next week is end of the year closing at work. It should be hectic (or crazy). I wish I was alone in the office if you know what I mean, lol.

See you all later... :grouphug:

sabimax 12-27-2008 03:18 PM

hey all, is it Saturday and already 3pm!!??? still in jammies...

I woke late yeahhh, stiff and in pain, then after being up and about a while..hubby and I played bowling on the WII that is soo fun. Also later did the fitness challenge to see what age it rates you on balance, strength and stamina...well lets say I dont have stamina or much strength but do ok with balance...today it rated me at age 68... (although how can we go with that, when part of it was a homerun derby, and I cant play baseball in real life either lol...

fun the Wii bowled then with Tony and hubby, we had some fun. Hubby now is sleeping, I had gotten a call that the closer crew person is sick..thought he would be I tried to send him ealry last night as he was red cheeked and feeling blah. Anyhow, I was like ugggg gotta maybe go in...but I told her to call main store and see if any interested in closing...as it is crew...and someone took at least the last part of it. Then the owners son who works for me while he has been off for vacation time, he is staying a few hours later to cover yeahhhhhhhhh

Well gotta go shower, my 13 year old is hoping I will take her to the mall to use a gift certificate she has to bath and body works! hugssss, sarah

oh weahter...uggg raining!!! on top of much snow we got yesterday morning...hugssss

Debbie D 12-27-2008 03:18 PM

Hello everyone!
So sorry I haven't been in touch...busy with the holiday and all. I've been having some difficulty with my digestive system the last few days...don't think it's the increased dose in the IVSM from Tuesday, but maybe all of the stress, etc haven't helped.
I've been a crying machine the last few days...I had so much trouble on xmas day, crying off and on all day...didn't want to deal with the inlaws, didn't want to do anything except go to bed...DD sat and talked with me, we cried together about my dx last month, and she and I talked about all that is going on...helps so much to have her home.
Anyway, got through the day, and then yesterday, my DIL and DD and I went to look at wedding dresses for my DD...my DIL was such a help...she said, "When I found my dress, I knew it was the one because when my mom saw me in it she cried." I thought hmmm...I don't think that'll happen here.
So my DD tried a couple of dresses on...then walked out in one that transformed her...and of course I cried like a baby...she looked like a princess...she tried on a few more, but agreed that that is the dress...
so wish my mom could see her...:(

this rain/flooding is driving me crazy...my pond was overflowing today...poor fish...and my DH had to replace the sump pump (could have done it when it wasn't flooding, but why do that?). I am always so afraid of flooding...must have drown in a past life...
Well, hope all of you deal with the weird weather as best as you can...I'll try to catch up on all your posts later...need to go rest my stomach while all are out bowling...
take care!

sabimax 12-27-2008 03:21 PM

hugss debbie..hope tummy stops figiting so you can rest..hugsss,sarah

weegot5kiz 12-27-2008 05:24 PM

ok time to rest grandkids are gone, kids are at work spent about 40 minutes going down our whole block cleaning out the sewers, yes I am soaked,so our yards dont flood, our drainage system is the back yards, so the sewers need to be cleared and for some odd reason everyone on this block dont feel a need for civic obligation to help and make sure their community is ok, self serving shallow skanks

so how the heck yall doing this wet day I went out three times wearing shorts, I mean how many times, in chicago area on dec 27th, can you say you were outside in shorts:yahoo:

I am gonna sleep till tues I think, but first I am gonna give my bday gift a good workout, I might even exhale:yikes:

peacehttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/char038.gif

SandyC 12-27-2008 06:59 PM

Frank, I am telling you if you do not slow down it will catch up with you. I seen it happen to Jim and you don't want to go there you hear me? Were you out there alone doing that?

My brother is coming over tomorrow to watch the game with Jim. Ugh, I didn't expect company so soon after the holiday but he didn't make it to the party so I must be gracious. My new New Years resolution is to learn how to say no more often. It's no wonder I have an ulcer.

CayoKay 12-27-2008 07:23 PM

Sarah, I *wince* every time I read your posts, because you remind me of ME.

I was so dedicated and responsible, that I went back to work a week after a hysterectomy, (as the manager of a small manufacturing plant), because things were going to Helena Handbasket, packages mis-delivered, machinery not maintained or cleaned properly, nobody knew how to issue UPS call tags, there were frantic customers, the payroll was done wrong, and worse, a side DOOR was left unlocked overnight, oh, it was a mess.

all the bazillions of details that need to be remembered and followed through on, well... people don't take real responsibility unless they're trained to.

when I finally collapsed, it took TWO people to replace me.

so, I worry worry worry about you, doing too much, and pushing yourself too hard... especially with kids at home, (I only had 3, and one step-daughter to tend.)

what I want to do is give you a BIG OL' HUG, and urge you, from the bottom of my heart, to start training somebody RESPONSIBLE to help you cover those extra shifts.

you shouldn't HAVE to be pulling doubles, honey, or going in on your days off !!

and the OWNERS of your store should be hiring another assistant manager, to back you UP there, it's maybe starting to verge on employee abuse, how much you're over-working..... I sure hope they appreciate you.

I understand that the income is desperately needed, really, I get that, that's why I worked so much longer than I should have, before being *forced* to retire on disability... because my mate's work was seasonal, and we'd have nothing during the winter if I stopped.

oh, my heart aches for you Sarah, and I wish there was some way we could help you figure out a way out of this......

:grouphug::hug::grouphug:

sabimax 12-27-2008 08:51 PM

Thanks Cayo,
I do have an assistant manager, and three other managers, and all can do the shifts I covered all trained!! the assistant is good at taking on extras, she was just off few days for family reasons...and so I didnt bug her. the others though dont care enough as some care enough some dont....

I even that other day called the other two stores, owned by our owner to check on managers that could cover..no one wanted it.

anyhow, tonight it was crew shift called in sick, but I had the manager that called me...call the other store and some crew person wanted some of the shift.

Anyhow, you can train them to know the info, and the work. but cant train them to care enough!!

Oh well,
I will maybe have to sometime figure out some other way for income, but nothing will make around here as much as I have built to. But my body yes I have to listen to it as well. Thanks for your concern and hugss back.

I am aching due to the double, but also the humid weather, wreaking havoc on me, ugggg

but anyhow...about to snuggle little Maddie a bit, and then maybe play a bit more bowling on the Wii....it is fun.hugsss, sarah

weegot5kiz 12-27-2008 09:05 PM

Sandy Umm umm umm no i mean yes, I mean no, oh oh she gonna hit me, hmm ok explain the downside to that lol :p:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:Im being as good as I can possibly be, thanks still:hug:

it had to be done so my garage didnt flood, last time (edited: two times ago not last time)we flooded I was in the hospital and no one listened to me and took care of it and our backyard filled up and then our garage, I rested this afternoon Sandy I am not trying to be self destructive, I am getting what has to be done when it has to be done. Hey did Chris get down there safely? right Chris was going to the NIU game?

DebD hope the fishes are ok hope no damage from the pump being down, hope you are feeling better

so whats tomorrows weather report locust plague frogs????????????????????????

Momma's Kids 12-27-2008 09:11 PM

Sandy...if you don't take care of that ulcer now, it will get more serious.

My endoscopy showed an ulcer, hiatus hernia, erosive esophagus, and mild antritis...guess stress was more than I realized. My new resolution is to shape em up or ship em out.:p

Christmas, I didn't want to do any cooking, just have family over and open presents. I had about 15 people here for a low country boil. My DD got here and nothing was done like it should be...as if nobody but her has ever done one. By the time everyone left around 10pm, I was so stressed, tired and in pain I went straight to bed.

Today, I wasn't planning on doing anything but rest...my DH tells my sister we will come over for dinner. I'm so stressed right now, He loses his DL, I give him the number I wrote down and guess what...he loses this!! If it was a one time thing I might be more tolerant...he loses his wallet constantly and this time he didn't get it back.

Where is my deserted island when I need it?

you're right...

I guess that's what I meant by taking responsibility...

caring enough to make sure the job gets done, and gets done correctly.

smarty-pants !!

I guess, to be a farmer, one has to turn off some switch that separates cute fuzzy baby animals (which I adore) from the grown-up version, when it later appears on the dinner plate.

:o  :o

alas, I haven't succeeded yet, but I am working on it.
