Sarah, Nik had a vicious sore throat and on and off fevers. His sore throat was so bad they gave him T3 for the pain. He didn't have the fatigue too bad because his mono was mild but you definitely seem to have the symptoms of mono. If the titers were high it can cause mono so be careful. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is thought to also be associated with EBV but so far the CDC has not found a definite link with each other.
In other words, call your doctor tonight, the GP, neuro, whoever you have to. You can't work in the food areas for sure if it's mono. |
Sandy...the Olhipie felt bad that skiing will be out for Jim this year...he said that means that he will have to ski twice as hard one for him and one for Jim.
Gotta get going on the meat loaf. I'm making a big one. My son for a hobby has a friend who raises beef cattle. He mostly does it to show them. So he will after he get off work go to work the bulls...he has been in Reno with all those bulls at a huge cattle show and he will be getting back in about four hours and he will be hungry. Makeing at least a two pounder... http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j.../SnowFight.gif |
Tammy, I am really sorry we can't come. With the holidays and the cost of things we can't seem to get ahead this year. If Jim gets this lift we're trying for we'll have to finance the remainder and we don't even know how much yet. I need to get my van paid off, the beds paid off, and the house note down to a decent level. We lost over 30g's on our house so far.
BUT, if you come here you can ski in my back yard in about a month or so. Right Frank? lol |
so here I was trying to cover me with my daytime manager moving to AM for me...then covering her...but hadnt found afternoon coverage so never called her to switch..but then tonight got a call from store...that afternoon manager called in sick for tomorrow....:(...and my other two managers that are off...both are out of town tomorrow..one for a dr apt...one for overnight with family christmas shopping....
so I am having to head in from 7am-2pm..then my evening manager..my assistant...she is doing a longer one 2pm-11pm...I will call dr from work tomorrow and tell them what is up...see if they can fit me in tomorrow afternoon...hoping it is NOT mono...due to what you said Sandy....would hate to be working with something infectious...but hey I thought I read mono there arent meds to treat..other than treating sxs...so if mono can last for weeks how would you stay out of work that long??? anyhow....just snuggling with Maddie..and on way up to bed....Jasmine is going to read us some christmas bedtime stories...hugsss,sarah |
so far no fever though I dont think..so that is a plus ...Mikayla is starting to feel awful now too..my 13 year old....hoping this is a cold type viral thing...so we can all recover fast..hugss,sarah

Sarah, hope you feel better soon. I've had Mono...when I was 18 and I had a severe case of it. Lasted months and literally wiped me out. All I did was sleep. Right now, I have what I think is the flu. Sore throat, ear aches, fever....and I just cannot seem to shake it. I guess it does last a week or so - maybe I'm just impatient - but I am taking an antibiotic so if it's not viral it should help. I couldn't work with this, though. It just zaps my energy. Even posting wears me out. But I'm sure MS in the mix doesn't help matters, either. I hope the docs get on the ball and get something for you to take. You don't want to let an infection linger on. Have you tried Zicam?
Feel better soon!!! |
As you can see my username changed from "Herekitty" to just "Kitty". I left my avatar alone so everyone will know it's me. :)

Good morning everyone!
I'm off the computer for a few days and look what happens, a new thread and 5 pages to read and TRY to remember, and a lot of singing going on.:D For all of you who are not feeling well, I hope you start feeling better soon.:grouphug: Had a fun weekend at DBF's. Saturday I asked what he needed me to do and he asked me to rake the yard. (He forgets some of my limitations sometimes.:D) Well, I gave it try and quickly found that it wasn't working for me. So I cleaned out one of the flower beds that was full of weeds and river rock (I just threw them in the wheel barrel and he hauled them away). I was able to sit down and work on weeding and breaking up the soil. It was so wonderful to get my hands in the dirt and work with it. I love playing in the dirt; the feel and smell of the soil is so wonderful. The flower bed looks great and is now ready for plants. BTW - The weather was beautiful! Sunny and when working out in the sun like that I could have worn a tank top and shorts; just didn't have any with me. Then Sunday, the artist who lives across the street invited me over to play with clay. She has a kiln and tons of art stuff. It was so much fun. I made an abstract 3D tile to hang on the wall. I'll glaze it next weekend. Additionally, she saw the Christmas card (hand drawn Baby Jesus - real simple card, no frills) that I am working on and wanted to buy some from me. It was a great compliment to me as this woman is an awesome artist. Of course, despite the fact I need the money, I can't charge her for it as she bought me a huge thing of clay and is teaching me techniques for working with the clay, allowing me to use her studio and kiln. All in all it was a great weekend. I hope you all have a great day today! |
Good morning everyone!!!
tricia.........wow...sounds like a wonderful weekend. you really tuned in to your creative side.:) sarah...ebv does have something to do with CFS...its one of the things they checked me for when they were ruling out everything.:) kitty....like the new name...short and sweet. I hope you are feeling better today. Sandy, Frank, Kay, Barb, Holly, Wiz, Vonn, naenae, Deb, I missed you guys this weekend!!! MY UPDATE: very busy weekend with sports and I was a baking fool!!!:) Today more of the same....laundry and some cookie baking(I know Im pretty boring!!!lol) Then we have lots of activities for the kiddos this eve, so all in all a pretty busy day. Add in a few urinary symptoms rearing their heads and it should be a blast!!!!! Have a great day everyone!!!! |
Let's see if I can remember what I wanted to. So many posts since I last checked in. ;) If I forget anyone, not intentional. Just a bit of brain fog on my end. :grouphug::grouphug:
Sarah, hope the doc can help ya out with this. I've never had mono (at least that I know of). Hope you feel better soon. Kelly, Don't forget to drink your fluids. Hope this bug clears up for ya soon. Trish, I admire those who work with clay. My High School art teacher gave up on me. I always managed to get an air bubble and have my pieces explode in the kiln. :o Barb, the show was a little bit of both. They voted on which ones to show (there's over 100 artists participating so they had to limit it somehow), and the paintings they display are on sale. With the private viewings, some pieces could be sold before the final show (they will still be displayed). Hubby thinks the purple one will sell, and I think the cottage one will. But one never knows. I'm just happy I can show my work to more people. :) :Excited: Is that a sign of an artist that just showing one's work can be a joy? Sox, cookie making is never boring. :) Renee, sorry to hear Olivia is sick. Hope she feels better soon. |

Sarah - Sox made a good point. A few years ago both DDs had mono. DD18 ended up with CFS. It was pretty rough on her both physically as well as emotionally (she was a freshman in hs at the time). CFS can be depressing as well and we had to work through all of that with some counseling as well as some great tips and techniques from her pediatrician. She is doing much better now and has learned ways to cope with the fatigue. |

When is the show? You may have posted that but I have since forgotten. (Wonder why.:D) I hope they both sell and I really think they both will. BTW - I hope I don't have any air bubbles in my tile thing. I really tried to work them all out and any that I saw while rolling the clay, I crosshatched to get them out. Keeping my fingers crossed. I don't want my work exploding in this lady's kiln.:o |
Good Morning! I have to go to class in a few minutes to discuss the judicial selection process, but I thought I would quickly post.
Four Christmases was a huge disappointment! Pretty stupid stories even though it had a good cast. I just wanted add that Sandy and Frank have probably gotten alot of snow. We were supposed to get ice, but so far we have lucked out. It is south of here. Oh -- and the zicam thing for colds. My neuro told me to stay away from zinc -- not good for ms. Have to get to class now..... |

The 12th and 13th. Friday is really a preview party and they are selling tickets to get in (artists get in free). Then Saturday is the main show, free to the public. Got hubby involved since he's the master of the mechanical stuff, lol. He helped me by getting the paintings wired for hanging. |

morning all you snowed-in birds (except Tricia and Kelly!) - top o'the morning to yous too!!
well, seeing that the artists are collaborating this morning - I'll add my 2c .. my best friend called yesterday morning (we've been friends since the 9th grade .. uh, over 35 years!) .... and was calling to catch up with me - and about the snowman card I sent her ... she loves it - and is working on writing a children's book ..and asked me if I'd be interested in doing the illustrations ... it's a work in process - but, now to get my watercolor going . .. have things to do today - like everyday, but having fun along the way!! best to all today - make it a special day ... because wherever you go, there you are ... so you might as well have fun! |
Vonn - That's fantastic! What a fun project to do. Think of all the joy your illustrations would bring to kids as well as adults. You go, girl!
|
Wow, all of you are so creative...makes me think of that first draft of a novel I have in a file cabinet...
Sandy and Jim, and probably Wiz and Frank/Deb are probably going to get hit with a snow storm tonight and tomorrow. I'm just supposed to get rain to snow. It's been cold and snowy this month...it's not even winter yet, darn it! My son and DIL are having a great time bumming in Aruba...son found out he likes tropical drinks...great idea to put off your honeymoon until it's cold, rather than going in June, heh? It's been a distressing weekend. My eldest son has pretty much decided to end his marriage...and I got an email from his wife...broke my heart. Why can't we transpose all we've learned throughout our lives into their brains? Did a lot of crying last night...possibly partly due to the MS...now that the roids don't seem to be working anymore, out of my system. Such bad back and leg spasms...hard to breathe, and so painful, makes me cry. And I hate, hate hate giving myself shots...got a huge welt on my thigh after I injected last night. Don't know why... For all of you expecting snow, get your shopping done now...and be careful. For all of you in the sunny climes...:mad: Have a good day anyway... |
(((DebbieD))) Not a good weekend for you at all! I am so sorry about all of this and will certainly keep you all in my prayers. Try to take some time to rest and a mental vacation to . . .Aruba; sitting on the beach in the warm sunshine, drinking one of those tropical drinks you son now likes, listening to the waves, smelling that wonderful salty air, etc.

Morning everyone! I am up and having coffee getting ready for my visiters today. I am sure by now you all know who it is again. lol
Sarah, Nik was out of school for a week and went back. They told him to be careful, cover mouth, wash hands, all the usual universal precautions. Oh and no kissing. lmao Deb, I sure hope we don't get so much snow but they are stressing the west. Ugh On family matters, my brother is getting a divorce. I found out this past weekend that his wife lied to us about her part in the marriage fallout. It's so sad. My brother is taking responsibility for his actions but she didn't. My sister is also having problems in her marriage. They are arguing so much. I want to just grab them all and shake them and make them see that life is too short. Oh well, it's not my place and I can only be there to listen. Jenn, I hope you sell your work! Everyone have a good day and stay safe and warm. |
Well I am still waiting for a certain phone call. I guess I'll be making a call myself today and see what I can find out.
I baked 14 dozen chocolate chip cookies yesterday. Doing so is asking a little bit too much from my mixer so my arm takes over at the end. Arm still hurts but its colorful language is gone. Today's agenda- some decluttering, maybe some cleaning, some decoration hunting, school work supervising, piano practicing and supervising of, and on it goes... Hugs to those in need for whatever reason. Get well soon wishes too. |
who is this new person trying to copy off our Kelly? hmmm
good morning all see that thread the rumors thread was right sandy the cats are taking over at her house now it just says Kitty ok for the tease part, of my mess the coffee smells so dang good filling the house and i made 4 trips to the van with little surprises for someone special and i just put my double boiler away, do the math and you can figure one of the 5 surprises |

|

|
Mmmmmmmm, Jim and I will be very happy today. lol
|
Sandy, have a great time with your visitors today. :)
Vonn, that is awesome about helping with the illustrations for a kid's book! Too cool !!! Debbie D, Sorry to hear you've had a rough weekend. As to the thigh, not sure but you may have hit too close to the knee. I've learned the hard way that they really mean the two inch clearence they suggest. I always get a huge welt if I hit too close, so I inject 2 - 3 inches away from it. :( Frank, chocolate? fudge??? |
WHO?? MOI??? or is it whomoi?? or me??
famous Steve Erkel impression:: Did I do that??? |
Hiya Fin :Wave-Hello:
Frank, Deb, Sandy and Jim..........enjoy your visit together...it is so nice you live so close to each other.:hug: |

LOL. Just realized I forgot my update.
Finally heard from the GI doc and have an appointment wed. Part of the delay was the new girl doing referrals at my PCPs. She didn't send anything out until Thurs afternoon. I'm sure if she had my pain it would've been sooner. Ah well, at least they were able to squeeze me in. The next available appointment isn't until January. Got some running around to do today. Don't wanna since it's cold out there, but used up our last bit of coffee this morning. So that is a definite motivator. :D |
I got my sleigh all loaded up ho ho ho
i saw something on yahoo this morning they are bugging obama cause he smokes, i so hope he tells the press and media to step off and dont force their beliefs on others. egads, something has to be done about the media, and this blitzkrieg style of journalism |
good luck fin on the docs visit and mucho luck on the art show, and you guessed it fresh made fudge, got up made a double batch one for us today and my mom put in a subtle request for some too, think it went like this" hey when the heII you gonna make me some fudge", pretty subtle:Bang-head:

job update
Okay. I could not wait another second so I called. :o Turns out I was on the head librarian's to do list for the day.
I'm being hauled in front of the board on Thursday a little after 1PM. They will ask me a few questions then I think they will kick me out so they can vote before sending me home with a job or crushed dreams. Well at least now I know where things stand. I'm a nervous wreck and the board meeting is days away. I'll never make it. |
weave, you made the finals though. I'm crossing fingers that the final interview goes well.
|
Weave - Saying some prayers that this works for you. Hey, the good news is that you are still in the running for the job. Think of others that may have applied and won't be going in front of the board. You will do just fine. Have a little faith in yourself and your abilities. You are worth far more than you think.
Update: Just back from the neuro and dang it all, I have a date with the tube:( (and a script for lorazepam:D). Double checking the optic nerve as the blurry vision has lasted a while. |
