(((Wiz))) I am so sorry you were feeling so poorly last night. I get that way if I eat chicken or eggs. So I can totally relate. (Although, I can get away with eating a few bites of chicken and not have that problem but eggs - no way). Thank goodness for allergy meds, huh? I do hope you start feeling better soon.

Well, I finally got around to posting on the new thread. I'm home today with a sick 8 year old. It's been so long since one of my kids threw up that I kind of forgot how awful it is. I'm sitting here praying I won't get it, too. Even more praying that no one else gets it. I can't take being around puking too much. I am a wimp. Blood is no big deal to me but puke gets me every time. Luckily, he seems much better and hasn't thrown up in hours.
I have grand plans of getting a lot done with my extra day off but I'm so tired. I think I may have to scale back a bit. I hope I can get some projects cleared off of my to do list, though. Just a blanket apology - I'm afraid I may never be able to be one who can respond individually to everyone. It is so overwhelming to me that when I think about it, I usually opt to just not post at all. I do read everyone's posts and pray when needed. I care about each and every one of you. Don't ever think I don't just because my brain can't handle a long response. |
 Holly  that's what the "thanks" button is for.....I use it all the time when I just don't have the energy to post. Never feel like you have to respond individually......and never feel bad for not posting. We all know how it is. Sometimes it just takes too much energy to even log on. I felt like that just this past week. B2Y had a great suggestion for an automated post that lets everyone know you're OK just not up to posting. I think that's a great idea.
I hope your child gets better....I always hated it when mine were sick like that. There's not much you can do but wait it out...but it's not fun. I hope nobody else gets it. How's grandma doing? She's so lucky to have you and your family. Not too many people would opt to take on that sort of responsibility. |
Morning! Ok, too many pages to hit thanks for everyone. lol Know I read each and every one of your posts. Wiz, I am so sorry your sick. I am sorry hubby was scared too.
Today is laundry day and finish xmas cards. That's it. It's dark and dreary here and the snow is melting away. Frank, DebD, Wiz, I saw the weather channel say 47 this Sunday!!!! It will change I am sure but we can dream. Oh oh, just heard about our governor being arrested this morning! What a dumb ****. Did he really think he could buy senate seats for him and his wife so he could get a cushy job? Sheesh. Hope everyone starts feeling better soon. |
greetings from the snowbanks up nort ...
yep - snowed in .. and told to stay put according to the weather reports! I'm in a throw-away mood ... or donate ... will be making a couple of garbage runs (down the hallway) anyways ... hugs to those not feeling well ... and hugs to those that feel okay!! have a great day ever-body! |

Trish, Tux is adorable! She looks just like my tiger kitty.
Wiz, sorry to hear about the food allergy. I've got a couple of those. Hope you feel better today. Holly, sorry to hear your little one is sick. As to the posting, we understand. There are some days I just don't feel up to it (thanks button to the rescue - lol), there are some days even with "cheating" I still forget someone. :o Don't worry, we're all in a similar boat. :Sinking: Everyone, :grouphug: |
holly I am pretty sure none of us can remember everyones names, post when you can, hope you and the kiddos are feeling better and so is grams
wizbethcathy i am sorry you got so sick hope today is better lets see out of the two last governors we have had, both are in prison that just speaks well for politicians |
Holly - Sorry you have a sick little one. I can totally relate to not wanting to be around puke. I can tolerate a lot of unpleasantries, but puke is not one of them. That's a toughy for me.
Additionally, I too get the same way with posting as well as trying to remember it all. Don't even worry about it. Post when you can and whatever you want. It's all good, we understand. Sandy - Barb mentioned that (Governor in federal custody) on another thread! I'll have to look at the news later - after I am done fighting with Photoshop and/or give up on for the day. LOL. Vonn - OMGoodness! DDs hate, hate, hate it when I am in a throw away mood. LOL Good luck today being snowed in and with the cleaning out. Hi Fin! |
Hi Vonn..................
|
Holly so sorry about you sick little one. Hope she can get the puking under control. My daughter when sick like this will dehydrate so easily and she is 22... Hope both of you can get some rest. Don't worry about wondering if you are here...I forget names as well...just want to know how you are doing.
Got the tree up last night will be trimming it today.:D Busy day...bath day for my Olhipie and lots of people from home health care coming to visit my Mom...however I need to be here because of her memory. For the weather...got a few feet in the mountains for the ski resorts but just a skif her at the house. Almost melted. I guess I'm wishing we could get some of that snow that is dropping at your house Sandy...if its going to be cold me might as well have the snow that comes with the cold... Catching up on dishes...two nights in a row of family dinners. Still got to do more shopping. Doing some on the net which for me it is great. Hope you all have a great day and keep warm...be safe! |
Okay...
Hair colored young? Check! DD working on schoolwork? Check! To do list growing? Darn it! Need to go find some nutritious lunch so I can justify the fudge dessert afterwards. Also need to bake myself a loaf of GF bread. Healing hugs to those not feeling well and in the case of little ones their care givers too. |
woo hoo ... found my christmas videos!!!

But . . . since you are snowed in, watching all these movies would be much more fun than cleaning out and throwing away. ;) |

Frank - after 40 .. no one counts age when dating, right?? **cleaning and watching and writing .. multi-tasking ... and have pea soup cooking in the crockpot** |

Got the ceiling fan in our living room cleaned. Thank heavens. Two floor ceiling, dropped down fan - little woman with little arms, lol. We finally got a big step ladder/stool that's sturdy and tall enough for me to reach it. Taking a lunch break now. Seems like a good time since my feather duster has seemed to run off on me. Searched for awhile so will give up for a little bit. :grouphug: |

Well, bless our hearts. We're known as possibly one of the most corrupt states in the US.

Tk...are you sure the cat was laughing, or was it singing?:)
Holly...hope your child recovers quickly...always hated it when the kids were sick...felt so bad, wanted to take their illness on myself so that they'd feel better... Wiz...take care of yourself...it's so awful to get painful digestive troubles...feel better soon! I am so sad...and embarrassed to be from Illinois...our arrested governor wanted to sell Obama's senate seat to someone for $1 million, or for a job for the gov's wife...I knew he was a snake ever since I met him at a friend's house many, many years ago. I can't believe that the voters here elected him once, let alone twice. the voters here deserve what they get...since they don't do their homework before stepping into the ballot box. But once again Illinois looks bad.:( And now, because he has raped the teacher's pension fund, and not paid the state medicaid bills, our state is in very bad financial shape. Just goes to show, there are NO heroes...just very flawed humans roaming the planet. Okay, on a lighter note, I am glad we didn't get dumped on like Wis. and Mich... lots of rain, and now sleet. And yes, Sandy, I look forward to the warm weekend, but I'll believe it when I see it... |

Just a continuation of our chatty thread updating each other about what's going on and just having some fun. :) I'm not sure which version this is, but we've been requested to start a new one each time we get to about 1,000 posts. Hope that's what you were looking for. |
Faculty and students alike today were cheering at the news of Blago's arrest. We have been expecting one for a few years so this is long overdue. This is the same governor that requires all university employess including students to take an on line ethics test. You can't imagine how many bribes I have been offered by corporations, etc:rolleyes: I only hope they can get the state cleaned up. There may be other politicians running for cover in the state senate.
Maybe I will still get a pension someday! My update: Not feeling so great again today -- went to Wal Mart -- big mistake and had spasms in my foot and leg. Have more papers to read and grade, presents to wrap, etc. and all I want to do is lay and state at the ceiling. |

I am embarrassed that I did vote for him. :o I don't think anyone could do their homework enough to have expected this to happen. I don't care what he did to an adult as much as I care how he denied funding to Children's Hospital because the CEO wouldn't give him money. THAT is worse than selling Obama's senate seat in my opinion. That hospital relies on funding to give these children a chance to live. How dare he, shame on him. Anyhoo, who sent Ol' Man Winter to my house? :yikes: |
maybe he will get a chance to say hello to george ryan:yikes:
ok good news it stopped raining bad news we got 3 inches of snow already, and beneath the snow is ice .. Slip sliding away, slip sliding away You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away...... |
You only got three inches? We're already at about 4-5 with the winds. And stupid Rudolph decided to fall once again and I was out there staking him down and the wind blew up my coat and shivered me timbers! :yikes:
Whoah God only knows, God makes his plan The informations unavailable to the mortal man Were workin our jobs, collect our pay Believe were gliding down the highway, when in fact were slip sliding away |
hey all....coughing a lot more now...less sore throat..hoping it means it is working its way OUT!!
If terrible tomorrow I promise to call rigth away and get in..or if cant get in..>I will do the walkin clinic.... hugsss oh I also go to the eye dr for my yearly exam...I think she will be doing fields too....last year my right eye was borderline on that test whatever that meant..and she said yearly she will want fields done.. hugsss, sarah (who is going to make or watch Mikayla make a gingerbread house with the little ones...one of those kits...) |
You poor IL people. I hope the situation gets worked out and a new governor steps in.
Barb - I did think of you when I read about it. Hopefully, things will get straightened out quickly and you will not only get your pension but the insurance premiums will be paid and all caught up so you don't get stuck with the bills.:hug: Sandy - I had to read your "He double L to the double no!" post a few times to get that. LOL I thought, "He double L'd to the double?" What the heck is that? LOL. I finally got it. Glad you didn't have anything to do with it.:p Frank - Thanks for the weather update. LOL Even though it feels cold here today, I shouldn't complain. 3" of snow with ice underneath is not fun. Slip sliding away . . . How do you manage with your cane on that? Doesn't the cane slip too? That could be dangerous. . . . Oh dear, I sound like such an idiot. :D I mean I grew up in snow but never once thought of managing a cane in snow. The thought never crossed my mind. I was more focused on managing a sled in snow and my ice skates on ice. Update: As you can all probably tell, I am feeling so much better. Certainly not 100% but better than I have in a month. Of course, tomorrow is my date with the tube and lorazepam so I am sure by 1:30 tomorrow afternoon I will be feeling gooooodddd. LOL So if I don't post tomorrow afternoon, I'm sleeping and if I do well. . . it could be entertaining for you all.:D |

Glad to hear the throat is feeling better. Have fun with the gingerbread house. (Used to love making those when I was a kid). Give Mikayla a big hug for helping the little ones make it. That is sweet of her. |
Sandy,
didn't mean anything by my comments...people trust those who run for office to be ethical... but when Blago ran in his first primary against Paul Vallas, the head of the chicago public schools who did such a fine job in turning around that system, and was against the Daley machine, Vallas lost...he didn't have Daley's support, and therefore the contributions to his campaign dried up. Blago was a Daley underling for a long time...learned from the best crooks in the chicago area... so at a time when Illinois should be proud that our senator is about to be inaugurated as President, a stain has been put on us again... hope our past governor can move over in his jailhouse bunk to make room for Blago... |
hi guys !!
in stun-mode once again... too tired to think, to tired to move, too tired to decide whether or not I'm hungry for dinner... just sitting here... reading posts, and loving you guys... long day, wanna curl up with a good novel (reading Startide Rising, by David Brin, Hugo and Nebula Award winner, an excellent, thought-provoking story, part of a double trilogy, the Uplift Series) ahhhhhhhhhhh, dinner's ready, love you guys, gonna go watch some Criminal Minds, eat, then read myself to sweet SLEEP !! :grouphug: |
Quote:
I drove home in what seemed like a blizzard! DH said maybe Blago and Ryan can share a cell... :p What crooks! If Daley did similar things then I say throw the book at him too! Quote:
