Ahhhhhhhhh its ok to rant and vent... what isn't ok is if you hold it inside... so isn't it good that you have somewhere safe that you can talk....

I think, first and foremost... you gotta love yourself.... that's what they say... and we know it isn't easy (especially when you're consumed with beat-me-up thoughts!) ...

so start simply... look at others around you... look at the world you live in... see how good you have things... see how beautiful things are...

once, a long time ago... I started a Gratitude Journal... it was really hard at first... I was so full of bitterness and low self-esteem that I could hardly think of anything to be grateful for...

But every day I stuck at it... (even though I really wanted to write all the things that were bothering me!!)... and wrote the simplest thing down....

and those simple things grew....

Today I a grateful that I saw a butterfly and took pictures of that butterfly...
Today I'm grateful that my upstairs neighbour gave me a cat collar (with a bell!) because my cat has caught and killed 2 little birds (a fine solution to warn the birds that Buddy the cat is on the prowl)...

So... tell me, my friend... what are you grateful for today...

Lets turn things around... k!!!!?

I'm grateful that a person in Mexico named Bluemajo decided to learn english so she could come to a forum and talk to me.

I'm also grateful that it's bedtime because I'm tired too.

I hope you feel less tired of everything in the morning.

Heart

Don't be sorry. It's good to vent.

to you Blue. Keep calm and carry on.

Hard to do that I know, but maybe write a huge note on your wall or your fridge or your mirror. Keep calm and carry on. Be strong. Look outside yourself despite what's going on. You must. I must. We all must.

Default yeah what they said

blue mayo i looked forward to reading your posts and i am thankful you are writing them again. i am grateful that my dad built a trellis to tie my leaning sunflowers to. i am also asking everyone to hold the farmers in the light, who are struggling with so far only 5 inches of rain where we should have had 25 inches so far. i am grateful that they continue to attempt to put food on my table. i am thankful for farmers.

((Blue)) I highly recommend Kristin Neff's book. I've bought it from Amazon and find a good read and helpful. http://www.self-compassion.org/self-...-the-book.html

Quote:
The relentless search for high self-esteem has become a virtual religion; and a tyrannical one at that. Our competitive culture tells us we need to be special and above average to feel good about ourselves, but we can't all be above average at the same time. There is always someone richer, more attractive, or successful than we are. And even when we do manage to feel self-esteem for one golden moment, we can't hold on to it. Our sense of self-worth bounces around like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lock-step with our latest success or failure.

Fortunately, there is an alternative to self-esteem that many psychologists believe is a better and more effective path to happiness: self-compassion. The research of Dr. Kristin Neff and others strongly suggests that people who are more self-compassionate lead healthier, more productive lives than those who are self-critical. And the feelings of security and self-worth provided by self-compassion are highly stable. Self-compassion steps in precisely when we fall down, allowing us to get up and try again.

Dr. Neff helps readers understand that compassion isn't only something that we should apply to others. Just as we'd have compassion for a good friend who was going through a hard time or felt inadequate in some way, why not for ourselves? Many people believe that they need to be self-critical to motivate themselves, but in fact they just end up feeling anxious, incompetent and depressed. Dr. Neff's research shows that far from encouraging self-indulgence, self-compassion helps us to see ourselves clearly and make needed changes because we care about ourselves and want to reach our full potential.

This groundbreaking book shows readers how to let go of their constant, debilitating self-judgment and finally learn to be kind to themselves. Using solid empirical research, personal stories, humor, and dozens of practical exercises, Dr. Neff—the world's leading experts on self-compassion—shows readers how to heal the wounds of the past so that they can be healthier, happier and more effective. Entertaining, highly readable and eminently accessible, this book has the power to change your life.
