I'm so glad Jack is feeling better. It's so hard to watch them suffer and not know what to do to make it better.

I was looking at the "views" for this thread and it was at 199.......this post should make it an even 200! I think that's a record for a thread about pets! Just shows what a bunch of animal lovers we all are.

Jack is now on every other day meds. I will do one more round of that, and then swap him to half dose every other day. he did well on his day off, and was even playing with his sister. His last drug holiday found him quiet, and painful. This time seems to be better.

Jack has been spotted in the basement a couple of times, and litterbox leavings have been spotted in the middle of the box. Lily uses the corners, Jack uses the middle. I have great hope that this will result in him returning once the upstairs box is removed.

He is currently laying in the sun, spawled out on his back, with his big pink feet sticking up in the air. he wanted to thank all for the well wishes.

Thats sooo cute sally! ty

Jack isnt feeling well today. for 3 times in a row, I gave his meds every other day, so for 6 days he has been transitioning off the stuff. Today he is in and out of the box, in and out of the box. Its clear just to watch him that he doesnt feel good. Poor thing. Daddy has wrapped him up in one of the forbidden blankets and he is napping on the floor. its a blanket that feels like a parachute from his Marine corp days. You know its bad when daddy coughs up the blankie.

Vet said to put him back on the meds everyday, and we may leave him there for another month. He HATES being medicated and is so upset when you try, but he was feeling so much better. I am sad to see him back slide. I was hoping there was a light at the end of the tunnel with this.

*sigh*

Awww, I'm so sorry Dej. I hope he feels better soon. You're a saint for taking such good care of him. And I know he appreciates it.

Maybe he needs to be on the meds daily? My Rick is on Amitriptyline daily for the rest of his life. $4 every two months at Walmart. He takes half a pill daily.

he will be on the amytripiline for at least a year. That stinks that I have to medicate him everyday, but we can get used to it. After a month more of being on the anti spasm stuff I will try to bump him off it. The vet said its not a big deal to keep him on it. He feels so much better today.

Thanks you guys!
