Enjoyed Amazing Race tonight. I like all the teams left. I was sorry the twins had to leave but they left on a good note. They really got to enjoy their last leg. Not many all American blondes enjoy elephants as much as they do!!!! I was kind of glad to see the snowboarders not have a great leg and let another team come in first. I don't have a favorite yet but I do like the grandparents I guess because I'm one!
|
I like the football guy and his wife. I also like the older couple. I was beginning to think the snowboarders were going to win each time. I am glad the football guy won. I am not a fan of the adventurers, the dad is an egomaniac.

Hi: talent
[All those wonderful shows that show talent are great. I admire all those who compete on dancing and in singing. Sometimes someone comes along who really Wow's the place. Hope you all get to watch some of them. ginnie
|
I'm really not sure how much longer Chad can stay on the show. He has come a long way and he really works through his pain. And I'm in love with JR
|
Re: chaz
[I can't help but admire Chaz for dancing his heart out. That takes courage and determination. I don't care how long he lasts on the show, I admire his fortitude and willingness to get out there in public and try. I love all the dancers who give it their best shot. ginnie

I always love those feel good shows on Amazing Race. When they go to the schools and make things for them it makes for a good episode or good editing, I'm not sue which. I wish the teams would learn to read the instructions though. But that is part of the drama and it let my boys get in first place for this leg!

I wanted to cry 'crybabie' at the guy that was so upset at his team for voting off his girlfriend on TBL. She had the better chance at home and Bonnie was just getting into the routine and loosing some weight. Bonnie needed to stay, Jessica was the only logical one to go and she showed what she could do at home. I still don't understand how some one at 185 pounds can be in a size 10 though. But shw sure looked good. Her face was wonderful. I hope her man get a haircut before he goes home. Although it was very traumatic for them to switch up teams they all benefited from it. Now Bob is going to be hopping mad that his precious black team didn't win the weigh in. Over ll they all put up some fantastic weights. It was like they were all in the first week again. I think the guys that ended up on Annas team saw they way she coddled the old ladies and thought it would be the same way with them. She kicked thier butt! And it showed.
I was so sure that Hope would leave in DWTS but she is still in. |
Doydie, Sizes are made bigger today, but that's still stretching it. Long ago, she'd wear a size 16 to 20, depending how tall
When I modeled, many many years ago:eek:, the perfect model size was 12 (todays is a 6) and I weighed 128 5' 6" .. In the prehistoric days, you didn't have to be as skinny as a bone, though. I think the fashion industry changed the sizes, because the 2nd generation is bigger, and they didn't want to insult everyone..lol |
Quote:
I wonder how tall she is, because I am 5'9 and if I weighed 185lbs I don't think I would be able to grease up and slide into anything sized 10. I don't care if I was all muscle. I have never weighed that much but after I gained the freshman 30, I wore a size 12-14 and I was 165lbs.:) |
Re: what we wear
You are right sally, the clothes are made larger so people don't feel so bad. I was an 18 or a mans 38. I now am a size 10-12 and weigh 130. I admire all those on the weight loss show who give it their all. Even the ones who are sent home, go back with a better attitude. I wish all of them good luck as they try to change their lives. Some of them are absolutely wonderfull in how they look after the show is over. It takes courage. That is truely something to admire. ginnie

@Sally. You modeled? Fashion magazine, catwalk, catalog? Details!
DWTS - I was surprised it was not Nancy Grace. Then again, I still think her partner is very cute. Still have not watched TBL. |

Now I weight 145, 5'4" and wear size 12. I still see myself as thinner than this. Only photographs remind me of my real weight.:) |

Although I had watched some of the auditions tonight I watched a DVR'd show of the X Factor. I had always wondered what the format was.Simon is a much nicer man in this show.
|
Somebody wrapped up the win tonight on DWTS.
Nancy Grace should have gone home last week or the week before that.. |
I just love JR and his whole spirit! I'm so glad he got his two 30's. I agree about Nancy Grace. We will be saying goodby to her tomorrow night.
|
Nancy grace does not seem to be dancing well, her motions are not as crisp as all the other contestants.
Maks is miserable. And I love that he wears his emotions on his face. Derek always gets a good partner. I think Maks thought Hope Solo would be like most of the athletes on this show. I would love to see Derek get a bottom dancer and see how he does with that sort of challenge. Maks may have gotten good partners but Derek always seems to get the cream of the crop. I hope Tristan comes back next year. I like him! Not sure if Maks will be back.:( |
As expected Nancy Grace left. Now we are down to the good ones and they will be heart breakers to see them go. Hope Solo has just now broken into her time and is doing well. Just as a side note but I don't know if it is a requirement of hers or not but her dresses are beautiful and not as sexy.
Biggest loser goes to singles next week. Felt sorry for the trainers tonight for them having to pick the contestant that would have their weight count for the entire team. Anna chose the wrong one. But as always they look so good at home. I was so heart warming to see him finally bale to get on a roller coaster with his daughter. I know exactly how he feels. I didn't ride one this year but last year was getting tight. |
Re: last ones
The last ones are there, with dancing with the stars. all of them are soooo good. Nancy should have been off before, but she did her best. Now there will be a winner. They all are in my eyes, just for getting out there and doing the boogie for all of us. I wish I could dance like any of them! ginnie

Hi Aarcyn
The closest I got to that kind of dancing was in 7th and 8th grade where I had dancing class. Boys on one side, girls on the other. I don't remember if I got picked very often. It was fun though I remember that. I wasn't shy about asking the boys eithor.....ginnie

Then I remember some sort of dancing lesson thing for proper girls and boys. We were paired to dance a primitive box trot. I got to dance with arguably the cutest boy in the room, Angus McClure. A handsome redhead. It was a tag-your-out dance and we were the last couple standing. Ah that took me way back with two wonderful memories. No wonder I enjoy watching DWTS. |
Me too...8th grade....so painful, lol!
|
Dear Aarcyn
Wow, some good memories yes? I am glad you have those dance memories like I do. I am glad you got picked by a nice handsome boy. Do you remember the flutters in your tummy? I sure do. those were some of the fun parts of my youth, and yours too. glad to hear from you. ginnie:)

Hi sally
[I was kinda an unusual child. Not real popular, and only a small circle of friends. I was the eighth grade class wall flower, me and my friend Chris were always hanging out, as the boys teased us both. Most of my memories were of wanting to be popular, but just wasn't. I wore the same wrap around skirt, a few too many times, and got teased about it. Such are the lives of young ones. Todays kids can be alot crueler than what we had to endure. At least the bullying didn't go on in my school, like I hear about in todays schools. Those memories stick, and I am glad schools are taking notice. thanks for posting, ginnie:)

I really liked all the challenges tonight on AR. Usually when they have dancing of some kind they just have to put on an outfit. This time they really got dressed up in period piece dance outfits. Then the butter churning and bunny races were just so cute. I am surprised that more people didn't choose the bunny race though. It was able to diffuse some tempers. I was so glad the football player and his wife got through. I was glad to see that dad gone. He was just to smartalic to his son.

I am afraid unless there is a huge surprise that Hope will be the one to go tomorrow night on DWTS. The way the judges are acting with Max I think they have given him a severe talking down. Hope tried to sat something good about why he was smiling and he put his hand over her mouth. I really feel bad that JR injured his ankle. I would had loved to see him at his best again tonight. He is just great to watch. I know when they stop and they are in front of the judges you then see his scars and just the one ear but when he is dancing his is just so happy.
|
Re: scars
On DWTS I never even saw his scars. He is so happy while dancing, that they all but disapear. What a roll model for those of us who have disfiguring problems. I'm not sure I could go out there with my bald head without being super self concious. He is brave and a great dancer. ginnie

Amazing Race has another one of those episodes where Phil hands them a clue when they get to the pit stop. My snowboarders looked so funny tonight. They finally found something that they could not be the best at. I love my football player and his wife! she really showed her strengths tonight.
|
DWTS was great tonight. I am torn. All three deserve it. Rickie and JR have been so consistent throughout the season and Rob has just now found his dance step. They are all deserving. I guess I am going to have to watch NCIS in the family room tomorrow night so I can DVR both DWTS and BL. I didn't realize until tonight that they will have to dance some more tomorrow night which I would assume will be judges vote only. I am always suspicious of that kind of vote. It's kind of like they don 't agree with what the final judge+viewer vote is tonight so they can adjust their votes accordingly tomorrow night.
|
Was very happy with the results on DWTS tonight!!!!! I also really enjoyed watching the eliminated contestants cope back and dance. Carson was hilarious having the guys carry him out over their heads and then playing the woman in the routine many times. And for China it was very important that she redo the dance that she froze on early in the season and she did it beautifully.
I watched part of BL but I had to switch TVs which meant unplugging my laptop and settling myself downstairs, finding a plug in that was close enough that I could be comfortable in the recliner. Plus put a load in the washer and take one out of the dryer! Wish my laptop battery worked. I depend on plugging it in now. |
Amazing Race was so sad tonight:(. My guys are gone. But they had a good time and always seemed like they were good sports when they had a set back. But now I will will root for my football player and his wife.
|
Biggest Loser was a tear jerker tonight. They all looked so good! I hope the three guys that will compete for the Biggest Loser will do it safely because they came out with their fighting game on. I was glad to see Dr. H at the marathon pulling out people he didn't think could do it.
|
I haven't watched Americas next top model in a couple of years but I was watching a news video clip on it tonight. It seems as if the winner twittered to her family about her win before the finale witch made her inelligble to win! Karma happens when you don't follow the rules.
|
Sorry Doydie, I'm not watching any of these shows. Only survivor for now. I do like the cooking shows but haven't seen any on lately.
|
I so wanted the football player and his wife to win AR :(. But he was not meant to fly a plane. Good luck to the couple who did. i hope they meant it when they said that being on the race was a good pre-marriage counseling.
|
I was so proud of all the contestants on Biggest Loser tonight. The only one who really didn't lose much was one that was eliminated in either the 1st or 2nd week. She only lost 33 pounds. But even Bonnie who was the older lady with all the knee problems lost 77 pounds. And the middle aged lady who had her knee in a brace for so long won the at home prize! I wanted the football player to win. He looked so good. Interesting switch for next season, witch starts in 3 weeks!!!!! You go as a couple but then are seperated and are trained by different trainers.

The Biggest Loser starts tomorrow, Tuesday, night
