Over on the "My New Addition..." thread Sally, but here's a few more of Willy doing what he likes doing most of all in the winter; playing with his favorite ball in the snow.

Wheeeeeee..Funsies...LOL!!!

He's the love & joy of my life, especially when he plays like that :).

WOW Erika, he sure looks like he is made to play and even exist in that weather. What kind of dog is he? His coat is beautiful

He's a Chesapeake Bay Retriever-Border Collie Cross and yes, you have a good eye Doydie. He has a very thick, double, water-proof coat.

Here is our forecast for today and tonight: A 20 percent chance of snow showers before 8am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny and cold, with a temperature falling to around -8 by 5pm. Wind chill values as low as -25.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around -17. Wind chill values as low as -27. |
A little more snow, a lot more cold and an unhappy camper here in
Dreary Ohio, but still happy not to be in Cleveland..:D No one came to plow me out, so DD had to trudge through it, to bring my groceries, this morning. I will survive!!!!:grouphug: |
We have 6-8 inches of snow that have been shoveled by a service I subscribe to. I no longer can do it myself or even pretend to help DH2B. He also has his house and his Mom's. So I just write checks and watch out the window. Thing is- underneath it all is ice due to a brief time yesterday which got near 40.
The church parking lot- in my kitchen window view- is like an ice rink. People walk across it and then start skating in their boots or shoes. Many- mostly women and children- do pirouettes. It's fun to watch them. So far, no falls. It's 26 at the moment w a windchill of 11. That explains why both cats are on me.;) I'm thinking I will not go to the post office today. ANN (Smart Cookie) |
Thanks for the Chilly Willy pics! My own Rosie would be in the same place - off the shoveled path and digging in the snow. She hears critters under the snow and dives at them just like a fox, but she's a Lab mix.

Sally,
I wish that we lived closer to each other, because either I or my friend would gladly plow you out :). Yes, you are a smart cookie ANN. Icy walkways and a windchill are a bad mix for anyone, never mind those of us who have mobility issues. Can someone go to the post office for you? We get door to door mail delivery here now, but Canada Post just announced that within 5 years, we'll all have to get our mail from neighborhood community boxes or from post office boxes. Is that what you have to do? I'm concerned for those people up here that have mobility issues...especially in winter, having to get their mail like that. For shut-ins, the mail delivery person coming to their door is sometimes the only contact they have with a real person, so there is a lot of objection to Canada Post's announcement up here. Sparky, The friend that helps me has 2 9 year old labs and they do the same thing as Rosy :). What a joy it is to just stand back and watch them digging, frapping (when they dash and run around in tight circles), and leaping straight up to come down head and front paw first into the deep snow after mice or their beloved tennis balls. Willy plays, but the labs take it to another level...they seem to retain a more profound sense of playful "puppy-mind" throughout their lives. :D. We've had a bit more snow that came in horizontally on 25 MPH winds from the south. That means a lot more snow is on its way, as predicted. We're expecting 2-3 feet starting in a big way on Thursday. No doubt about it...we'll have a white Christmas up here :). With love, Erika |
