Default Boise State Smurf Turf

That would be Boise Smurf Turf to you! And we are very proud of our blue turf. Shows up very nicely on TV!!!

Boise is nice and dry, 3500' elevation, great fishing, we get about 11 inches of rain a year, we are in the Columbia Basin. Mountains surround us, with the Boise River running through town, Snake River south of town and the Columbia River west of us. Tourism is one of our main industries - white water rafting, fly fishing, and skiing.

What's to do here? Well, we have Boise State Broncos for football, basketball. We have hockey - Steelheads. We have Basketball, indoor football. We also have minor league baseball, farm league for the Cubs.

We even have Opera, Broadway plays, and College Football - Boise State Broncos.

Did I mention that the Boise State Broncos are here?

Hells Canyon is on our western border and Yellowstone National Park is on our eastern border. Frank Church National Park, and in case I forgot to mention it, Boise State football team plays here in Boise.

Getting back to the earthquake threat........

I have a long time "on line" friend who lives in Sacramento. Would this area be classified in the threatened area, or can I assume that for now she'll be safe?

I live so far away that it worries me sick when one of my "on line" buddies is threatened by storms, tornadoes, earthquakes and the like.

Anne, here's a map you can click and drag a box to zoom in on a particular area.

Thanks AMN but I can't seem to work that one out. I tried the click and drag thing, but I'm obviously not doing it right.

Can some-one please make it easy for me, and just tell me if my friend is at risk?

Thank you, but I'm really worried about her now.

It looks right nice up there, Anne. 70°s and sunny all week. Slight chance of rain but nothing too serious.

Most of the ugly stuff is much farther south, from about L.A. down to San Diego. Your friend is fine, I'm sure.

Thank you Cindy. The threat of a major earthqauke is super scary. Thank you heaps.
