Default My friends stink, my DH rocks, and Billy Joel is still hot!

I admit it, I was totally feeling sorry for myself yesterday. I was in a pissy mood. Not because my DH had to go out to sea and miss the Billy Joel concert I'd bought tickets for months ago. But because not one of my sucky friends wanted to go with me. Friend #1: I don't like Billy Joel, Friend #2: I've seen him before, Friend#3: I don't really do concerts anymore.

Now this was a FREE ticket. Row G (as in right up front can see the sweat!). Noone would go with me so I was feeling like a big loser and that my friends sucked donkeys. I'm still ******. They can all kiss my tookus for now.

Then suddenly, I got a call....DH's flight out to the ship was cancelled and he was coming home (bless those pilots!).

It was so wonderful. Last time I saw him was about 18 years ago. I sang every song and got a bit misty eyed. He's just as wonderful as I remembered. (billy joel....not my DH!) I was so happy my DH got to go with me. It made it all the better. I'm not sure what it is about him, but I just love Billy Joel. He's such an excellent story teller.

I LOVE Billy Joel, and I'm really enjoying the music his daughter has been writing and playing lately too. Which of his "old" songs did he sing?

I love Billy Joel, too. I wouldn't have turned down an invitation, but maybe your friends weren't sucky. Maybe you and DH were meant to go together.

Glad you had a good time!

I got free tickets to see him late last year, through the MSS. I took my kids (11 and 15 at the time), and even they loved him. He's still got it, eh?

Did he do "Highway to He!!" by ACDC?

Oh man! No way would I have turned that down! Thanks a lot, Gretata.

You love Billy 'cuz he plays a harmonica, that's why.

How cool that you got to see him, I haven't seen one of his concerts since right after high school, so we're talking at least ten years.
