(((Twinks)))

I'm so very sorry - I don't come here much, but please know that you and your Dad will be in my prayers.

Friends, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Feeling so much better today. Your well-wishes and prayers mean so much. And yes, I did tell Dad that my NT friends are praying for him. He is doing pretty good today, as well.

Yes, I believe that I should abide by his request not to have chemo. I absolutely won't force him into that. My oldest brother is sending info on glyconutrients, whatever that is. Somebody took it and their cancer went away. *insert skeptical smiley here*

I promised him that I'll do my best to keep him at home, rather than opt for a nursing facility.

Thank goodness he is feeling good for the time being. Our family (17 of us) are scheduled for a photography sitting the day before Thanksgiving. If it's not unbearably cold, we will have it taken outside at a beautiful nearby place called Maple Grove (AMN and I had lunch there during her visit last year). I've purchased matching red shirts for the men and boys, and beautiful black velvet dresses for the 4 little girl cousins.

I desperately want to include Dad in this important family picture. Just wouldn't be the same w/o him.

Thanks again for your prayers and well-wishes.

It's a perfect spot, Twink. Do it now! Here's a roofcam pic from this time last year:

Twink , you're such a good daughter. I'm sure your Dad knows how very much you love him.

My Dad was very adamant about his wishes and I am so glad that he made them known to all of us. We all promised him we'd abide by them and we did. I don't think people realize what an enormous gift it is to your family to let them know what you want. It takes the burden off of any one individual to have to make hard decisions.

I'm so glad your Dad's in good spirits. He sounds amazing and he probably has the attitude to go with it! He's very fortunate to have you with him. Let us know how the gluconutrient therapy goes.

Twink and Dad

I hope your Dad gets the care he needs at this time. It's tough to go through. I went through it with my Dad and the best thing, as AMN said, is to respect his wishes.

(((Twink))) I'm so sorry to hear what your dad is facing. When I heard about the lump in the armpit...I wondered if it might possibly be hodgkins or non-hodgkins. 3 of my friends have had one or the other of those.

But, it sounds like both of you are feeling much better today and that's good to hear.

You're so special. Holding you and your dad close to my heart.

So sorry to hear about your dad, R.

I'm wishing him as much enjoyment as he can muster, and appreciate his decision to not undergo chemo. Prayers for him and hugs for you.

Cherie

Kelly, you are so right. Mom told me about 20 years ago that if the time came that she needed to be at a facility, to go ahead and put her there. Knowing that made all the difference when she required 24 hour care b/c of Alzheimers.

Dad's been alone for 2 years now since Mom's passing, and has no sign of dementia. He's not much of a complainer, or we might have known about this earlier. He says he's lived a good, long and interesting life, and that he's had more years than most. So he's being very philosophical about this disease that is going to take him down.

I can't thank you all enough. I know that many of you know exactly what I'm having to deal with. God bless you all.
