They are considered Exotic Animals and some states may have laws regarding ownership. Vets treating Sugar Gliders hard to find, research, find one BEFORE desparately needed.

Baby Sugar Gliders are known as Joeys, Mom does have them in a pouch.This is what I think I read, could bew incorrect.

Not that I wouldn't want to, I just couldn't do it for the cost. But we have a vet who takes in strays and adopts them out so it's all good. One cat, one dog is good for us.

Sandy you are so wise to bring up this point. Caring for animals properly especially now that there are so many treatment options available is very expensive! While I wish everyone could have a houseful if they so desire it is more humane not to take on more than someone can afford.

Most shelters are in desperate need of volunteers if someone needs a puppy or kitty fix. Don't forget to spay and neuter. I had to slip in a public service announcement.

Thanks for that! It reminds me of the cat who adopted me in the eighties. I opened the apartment door and in she ran. I put up signs in neighborhood but she was a full on stray. She was SO skinny. When she put on weight, I was happy. Then she put on more weight. Then I realized she was PREGNANT. She had a litter of 7 kittens in my closet. I found homes for every single one of them but WHAT an adventure she turned out to be. I named her 'Thursday' (the day we met).

Sally, my New Year's resolution is to find the usb cable and start posting pictures . Aurra is doing well and eating like a pig! The other cats are ambivalent, except when she goes near 'their' food dishes! I have to feed her separately until she's big and brave enough to deal with them. I feel the same as you guys about pet care. If you can't properly take care of them do not have them. I spread kitty checkups out so I'm not hit with a giant bill all once. I love my cats like as is they're part of the family coz they are . I don't believe in putting my animals through torturous procedures for my own selfish reasons though. If one of my cats gets cancer there won't be surgery or kitty chemo. I'll have he or she put down and I'll be right there with them. I owe them that . I've had to do this in the past and it is unbelievably hard but I just feel that it's the right thing to do.

Do what I did. Go to Walmart and buy a $15 multi card reader. Then, you just put your memory card in the slot and plug it into the computer and you don't have to worry. They also work on lots of different memory cards, so you can use them for other cameras.

Bless you Joellelee for being such a kind, caring animal lover. Wish this world had more people like you in it. I've taken in a couple of feral cats, had all the appropriate Vet stuff done, but had to keep them in the garage due to my allergies. I would leave the back door open for them to come and go. One was poisened by a neighbor up the road and the other was a victim of the highway. I bawled like a baby, so DH said no more kitty's b/c I can't keep them safe indoors.

Even though they fell prey to the world, their lives were far better than they would have been... given your care, DM. I think it would have been hard (on everyone, you AND the cats) to keep them inside. They knew love. I hope I'd do the same if ever faced with the same situation.
