Seems I have more time on my hands...which means more time to think and reflect. I remember when I was teaching a little short vowel book called "Hal" to a Kindergarten reading class a few years ago. One sweet little boy got a very excited look on his face and appeared that he would just bust at the seams if he didn't tell me something. So I motioned him up to me. He came up and whispered in my ear...
"I know who Hal really is. We learned about him in church." When I encouraged the little boy to tell me more, he said... "You know, Our Father who art in heaven, Hal will be thy name!" That little boy is a senior in high school now... So I guess it's been more than a few years. Where does the time go?!?! DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A CUTE KID'S STORY? PLEASE SHARE!

Thats cute.
when i got remarried to Deb, my folks her folks, our kids my cousin Anita(like a sister to me) and her 2.5 yr old daughter Shannon, all went to the local county seat and got hitched via a JP. well when the JP asked if anyone had anything to say as to why us two should not be married Shannon the 2 yr old let all of us know SHE HAD TO GO POTTY, my poor cousin Anita was so embarrassed, the JP couldnt stop snickering I was giggling too my folks debs folks and then the potty dance began,,, by time I was allowed to kiss the bride, which is when we then got the announcement again in a much louder decibel. "IVE GOT TO GO POTTY NOW MOM" I've told my cousin Anita a few times since it was the best ceremony I had the pleasure of attending, her honesty and speaking the truth broke up the nervous tension we all had, with her one sentence she was able to break down the tension of 7 adults Including the JP

Ya gotta love 2 year olds! It's these little moments that make life fun! We don't live in a perfect world... but kids can sure make it seem worthwhile with 'perfect' moments such as this! Thanks for sharing!

Cute stories!
My little Granddaughter (about 3 years old) insisted I teach her how to play Chess. So I explained how the different pieces moved and we began a game. I tried to give her every opportunity to take one of my men when I took one of hers. But pretty soon it was obvious that there were more of her men lined up just off the edge of the board. When I removed another one, she said, "Grandma, let's play Nice!"

We went to my inlaws for Mother's Day when my kids were little...my second, Steven, was about 6 at the time.
He walked in, gave his Grandma a kiss, and said, "I think you'll love the red robe we got you." I think his 8 yr old brother wanted to strangle him...as usual...my MIL loves to tell that story...

Our whole family went to Yellowstone a few years ago, and we rented a big 5 Bedroom house to stay in. My bro and SIL had one son who was around 2 and another that was just a month or two old at the time.
The 2 year old was right at the point where they were trying to potty train him and he REALLY hated the idea of taking his training pants off for some reason. So it always devolved into a big fight between he and my bro or my SIL when it was time for him to go to the bathroom. All of us were sitting at the table playing cards one evening, and my brother had taken the 2 yr old into the bedroom right off the dining room to get him to use the bathroom and fight over his training pants. A few minutes later, my SIL took the newborn into the bedroom to breastfeed it. As she walked through the door and just before it closed, we heard the two year old call out "Woo hoo! Momma's gettin NAKED!" The entire family erupted with laughter for several minutes, and it was quite a while before my bro and SIL came back out to face us. I am sure my brother got quite the lecture from my SIL during that time about how he needed to watch what he said around the boys lest they repeat it in front of company... |

hehe -- that reminds me of another story about my grandson, also about age 3 or 4 at the time. He was with his Mom and I at WalMart. It was his Mom's b-day, so I took him to the jewelry counter and we picked out a wristwatch. It seemed the perfect gift because it had her favorite color (blue) and Tweety Bird on it. I explained to him how it was a secret. She was in the dressing room when he got on his little knees and peeked under the door. She said, "Chad, don't watch!" When he heard the word "watch" I guess he figured the cat was out of the bag. He got so excited and picked up where she left off, "...and it's blue and has Tweety Bird and it's shiny..."

In Remembrance
|
Just this past Christmas, My almost 4 yr old grandson came running in my house, with a present he purchased for me at a kiddie Santa shop......
Running all the way, while tearing open the present and hollering.."It's a little cutting board, Grandma".. ...I squeezed him of course..

these are so cool i like these type of stories I have one more too when I was still a solo parent of my two boys, my one son Sean has some medical issues autistic epileptic bi polar adhd anywho for him to make a choice sometimes was tough could not choose between a or B and it would get a bit tedious and stressful at times and i would say sean I just got home from work and it was a long day give me a few minutes and you try to decide on what you want, i just dont want to deal with this right now. give me a few minutes to change..... wellllll one day at a field trip after asking the lama hey lama was you mama a lama too, second grader, another shecky green, anywho during the field trip the other teacher from classroom next door asked my son for something or for him to do something else, and he in turn paraphrased me and said look ive had a long day and am not gonna deal with you right now. lol well I was freaked when barb his teach told me, so I explained to her what he took it from and was gonna go apologize to the other teach and Barb stops me and says dont you dare it was great to see her jaw drop by a second grader. she said they all laughed although the one teach was a bit taken back, barb said it was good she got some up and comings or something like that

I don't have a funny "my kid" story, but one of my nephews did a good one once.
I don't recall where they were for sure, but they were looking at a statue of David, and one of the nephews called out, "What a big penis"! My sister in law just about died of embarrassment!
