1. My mother divorced my father when I was just 5 weeks old. I had never even seen a photo of him until last year when my Grandma moved in and I found their wedding photo in her pictures.
2. My mother divorced my father because she found out he was married to another woman, too. Someday, I hope to get up the nerve to find him and ask a few questions.... 3. I left college and moved across the country with a guy when I was just 19. I dumped him a few months later, but I ended up staying in the city I moved to, met my DH and got married when I was 22. Been married now for 17 years. 4. I was the only girl on the high school debate team. I kicked butt, too. 5. Like Sarah, I love football and hate shopping. |
Great thread - thanks for starting!!!!!:)
OK, i'll try and write 5 things about me... 1. I live in the UK (England) about 3 hours away from London with my parents and my adorable pets!!!! 2. I dont have any siblings. I've never really been bothered for a brother or sister although I sometimes wished that I had a big brother when things were not going well at school. I dont mind being an only child though - I get spoilt a lot and dont have to share things with my other siblings!!!!:D 3. I love card making and scrapbooking!!! I started making cards with my grandad about 3 years ago before he passd away when he had a major heart attack to try and raise money for the hospital that treated him and have been addicted ever since!!! Boy do I wish I could go and make some cards with him now - he would always share great tips and I think that is one of the things I miss the most about him!:( I cant make cards as much as I want to now that my arms are bad but I still really enjoy it when I can as I find it takes my mind off other daily stresses and pain. If anyone would like a handmade card from me, please PM me your address and i'll try and send you one - I have got permission from my mum by the way!! 4. I am a huge animal lover!!! At the moment we have a Springer Spaniel puppy, Chameleon, African Grey Parrot, Chinchilla, Hamster and 4 fish!!! Whenever I go to the pet stores, I always want to adopt another animal but my mum wont let me unfortunately as she says we have enough already - she's always joking saying that we should open our house as a mini zoo!!:D 5. When I am older, I want to be either a Psychologist or Physical Therapist!! I have learnt a lot since I have been ill and want to try and help others who are in a similar position to me. I am hoping to get onto a Health and Social Care course at College from September that lasts for 2 years. I go for an interview on the 22nd of April about it!! |
woohooo Holly, partners haha
|
Ooh, I forgot one.
#6 - I have had the same best friend for 30 years. We met in 3rd grade and we are still as close (or even closer) after all these years even though we live on opposite sides of the country. We e-mail, text message or talk on the phone as much as we can. I am so blessed!! |
OK, 5 things about me:
1. My mom & dad married when she was 17 and he was 35 (he was just a couple of years younger than my grandparents. They were married for 49 years when my dad passed away. 2. My Grandfather (Mom's dad) came from Syria when he was 5 and ended up in Louisiana where he met my grandmother who was 1/2 Syrian and 1/2 French. 3. I used to coach my youngest daughter's softball team, did this for about 5 years. I also used to play. 4. When I was between the ages of 7-10 I bowled on a tournament team, my average was 135. Surprisingly when I bowled later in life my average was 135! 5. I have been married for almost 33 years to my wonderful, caring husband. This is really unusual because he is a Police Officer and Law Enforcement has the highest divorce rate. |

5 things -
1. I never knew my French father - married in 43 during the war - he shipped out and back to France in 44 - year I was born - never knew the man and I too just came across a letter from his parents to my mom and am trying to trace the family - I might be aa American surprise - 2. Have had a dog every year of my 65 years 3. So far - have 10 ancestors that fought in the American Revolution - 4. I used to be a great speller - won every spelling bee - the operative words there were used to be - used to be on the tennis team too - used to 5. I dreamed about the man I would marry when I was about ten - and I was right ! Knew him when I saw him walking down the street in 63 - |
*Although my father was a police officer, my ancestors were criminals! My great, great and some more greats grandfather, stole a whole heap of things in England and for his crimes was deported to Van Dieman's Land. The name Van Dieman's Land was later changed to Australia. I grew up in the state of Tasmania (the island state at the bottom of Oz) and when hubby and I moved to a different state where we'd never been before, the lady next door turned out to be my second cousin. It took 2 years of friendship to find this out, and only then because her mother and my aunt started talking about the same people!
*A girl I met on the first day of high school has now been my best friend for 45 years..... yes I am that old. :( * I also was a 10-pin bowler. My highest score was just over 250. I don't remember the number but I have a 250 pin to prove it. :D One year I beat an Australian Women's Champion to take out the top female bowler of the year award. *I failed all five of the subjects I took at college. The lowest mark I got was 7% and the highest was 23%. I went on to get a Science Degree at university. * I also hate to shop! |
Five facts about me........
1. My husband and I have raised my nephew since he was 7 years old (He's 19 now & in college), and I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity!
2. I believe in Karma 3. I was a "victim" to my sister's drug addiction for 28 years of my life, and once I decided that enough was enough, I became a "Victor" and now my sister is almost 9 months sober from drugs and alcohol! Who'da thunk? 4. I love eating burnt rye toast with creamy peanut butter. 5. I am the "dog catcher" of my neighborhood. If there is ever a dog running loose, my neighbors call me to catch them and bring them home... whether they are pit bulls or poodles. The dogs seem to come right to me when I call for them, but will not go to anyone else....it is very strange. |
