From what I have read it seems quite likely it could. Its difficult to tell when you have multiple problems. The only way to tell is by treating it, and seeing if it gets any better. All too easier said than done.

so in pt today my ribs were raised on my right side and tight, trigger points in scalenes and levators. they wer NOT spasming tho just nervy. i just had a lot of pain there, festering pain, i couldnt really tell my rib was up.

anyways, point being, my nervous sytsem and my spine (think foam roller exercise gone wrong) was fired up FIRST and then my muscles react badly ribs creep up etc. i really dont think i mattered what i did, anything i did would've set it off..if that makes sense

Did this help you at all? Hot showers/baths help me temporarily. I've switched from epsom to Dr. Singha's mustard bath for soaks. They sell it at a day spa near me - http://www.drsingha.com/

I got some bulk bath sea salt mix from this place last winter, now they have free shipping, there's so many kinds to choose from... but maybe something will sound interesting..

hmm or maybe I got mine here ..

Amazon & other places have them also.

Those bath salts look great, Marc--how do they smell? I've been using a lot of mustard seed recently (been on an Indian vegetarian cooking spree, pre-surgery) and it's hard to imagine wanting so smell like it. Mustard has healing properties, too, doesn't it?

It actually smells pretty good, but I'm sure it is due to the Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Wintergreen, & Thyme that are part of the formula. I always follow my hot baths with a lukewarm shower and my wife has never complained.

What made you decide to switch? How is the experience between the two different?

Massage therapist suggested it. The mustard bath feels like it drains my energy a bit (and my body's ability to spasm)...kinda like I feel after acupuncture. A quick shower afterwards and I'm ready for bed. Its not a cure by any means and could just be placebo effect I'm feeling. I only use it once or twice a week at the most as I'd rather stand in the shower for 30 minutes than lay in a bath.

wow jomar those look like a good deal!! i hate having to carry the salt back and forth

i'm addicted to hot baths but because my hands and feet get really cold which would point to some kidn of hypothyroidsm or eds stuff.

if i'm flared up i dont like ANY HOT WATER near me, i use ice.

i do think the hot baths help though. anything to get the blood flowing. my hr at night gets freakishly low (in the 40s) which doesnt help any

this may sound obvious but comp tip

keep your arms at your side. dont reach for the mouse keyboard AT ALL or else with me i use my levator
