Interesting article because he only has NTOS. Usually the Pitchers have ATOS.
He is going to Dr. Pearl in Dallas, who I have heard of recently. It mentions that he will be getting his first rib removed and 2 neck muscles removed which must be his scalenes. They say he will be able to pitch again next season. It will be interesting to watch what happens to a public figure. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...s_mlb&c_id=mlb This article is more detailed and says "release" of the scalene muscles: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseb...9bb30f31a.html |

We have posts/threads here about Hank Blalock, former texas ranger ball player that had TOS surgery. If I recall he was a top hitter for the rangers before the injury.
He played again afterward but was plagued with other misc injuries and was traded a couple of times then free agent.. Google still brings up his injury & history.

I think this is reasonable. High fitness often equals fast recovery.

Carpenter was first shut down with what was described as a nerve-related issue in March, when he began feeling weakness and numbness in his arm, shoulder and face following his throwing sessions.
Dumbness in the face? But, but, that isn't a TOS symptom. ![]() |

One of the symptoms I had post-surgery was Bell's Palsy. I've had it before during one pregnancy, and then various episodes of weirdness from cranial nerve regeneration. I mentioned that I have this thing called "Eagle Syndrome" which means my mastoid process is elongated, presumably in the cranial nerve area. I wish there were a way to know if this is related to TOS, which I'm now have no symptoms of.
