Default Helpful physical therapy

Hi everyone, I was looking for more PT in Australia this morning, and found this American site. Great guy with lots of tips, seems to be a regular blog, and he has had shoulder surgery so should understand from a personal perspective too. Be careful using the exercise video unless you know exactly what is causing your tos, but the sleeping video is excellent.

Hope it helps,
Love Ans

Sleep... Oh, now that sounds good.

Take care...

Oh no! I can't find the vid or link- I thought I copied it in. Will keep looking for it.

Just a PT that suggested
Back sleepers-sleeping with pillows under your arms to help release shoulders- never arms over head
Tummy sleepers tuck something into crook of neck to make more room and not squish down the neck to thoracic area
Side sleepers- place pillow between knees, but also put arms out to side away from you ate right angle, and lean back, not straight on, but opening up rib cage.

I hope that makes sense. I have been working on it and it helps. Also a memoryfoam travel pillow that I move around when restless.

Sorry I didn't post the actual vid!

Found it! This guy has some good things to say. Looks like he has come at it from a body building background.

thanks so much for posting this! I have been sleeping in positions that he says contribute to TOS so I am going to try to change.

I watched the video and it is very informative. I have found that a Sobakawa pillow, (the microbead type & comes in different sizes)) is a type of pillow that forms into the void that sometimes regular pillows create. Because I can not lay on my operative side at all, I hug a pillow & also try to "lay back against other pillows" but find I still will wake up in pain because, of course, the tendency to "fall forward" happens when asleep. Not having the variety of different sleeping positions is so awful.
