Hello everyone. I was just curious if anyone has ever experienced problems with the first three fingers related to TOS. I know problems with the pinky and ring fingers are common. Thanks.

Yes, I have problems with all of the fingers on my right hand. The index finger gets especially stiff and painful sometimes.

I was diagnosed with TOS last year. The only positive test I had was the arterial doppler that shows my pulse diminished when my arms are in certain positions. My problems are mainly with the first three fingers (radial nerve). My neurologist said it's not as common, but still possible. I recently was looking into something called Triangular interval syndrome that is more specific to the radial nerve. Not a lot of info on the web, so I was thinking I might be making another Dr. appointment.

Hello, possibly ask your physician if you can get a Nerve Conduction Study and the other study that gets done with it. If you haven't already had one. It may help to have more information regarding your nerves. Good Luck.

Trigger points and muscle tension can affect the nerves quite a bit, if those are present try some various therapies to resolve those before looking deeper into any kind of surgical option..
TrP info- sticky thread http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread125577.html I'd hate for to to have a surgery and then find it was not the fix. Unless the dr can show & prove that surgery is required of course.. There is also double & triple "crush" syndromes where you have TOS and carpal or cubital tunnel or all 3..

Forgot I had saved a web article that goes into great detail about TOS.
From the article: Symptoms’ location most frequently reported in patients with TOS include paresthesia in the upper limb (98%), neck pain (88%), trapezius pain (92%), shoulder and/or arm pain (88%), supraclavicular pain (76%), chest pain (72%), occipital headache (76%), and parasthesias in all five fingers (58%), the fourth and fifth fingers only (26%) or the first–third fingers (14%) ![]() |

It uses a lot of medical terms that not everyone will understand, but if you want to read the whole thing:

It is possible but these symptoms are more commonly attributed to the cervical spine, carpal or cubital tunnel. Have you had a cervical MRI and EMG/NCV test?

To this day I have the same sx, but the pain in outside hand and last fingers is worse. I'm slowly increasing dose of neurotin 2x day for past 2mos. Getting little relief at nite, but using kindle seems to make it worse. There's some really good websites u can find on this forum for tos sx |
