Anyone have and fid out what caused their double vision?
I started some time ago, lateral double and triple vision. Sometimes it reduced to a ghosting effect to looking like three redlights on top of each other. When I found 3 of my valiium last week they were the first days I was without this sympton since I ran out. I got a new neuro but he reduced my dose to .5 mg. That is not helping more then reducing the triple back to a double lateral (above each other, and above and below the objects). So I took two of the .5 mg and today I had relieve again. I have a lot of cervical spasms, traps, shoulder. I had all kinds of exams, MRI MRA, Optical, Opthamalogist, and carotid MRA. EEG, so far no reason other then the spasms. The triple vision keeps me limited. I can't drive, read, type, light chores as I can;t tell the counters, and floors distance and make huge messes. Di

The most I get is the really watery right eye and the blurry close up vision.
So I'm not much help for double vision... ![]() ![]()

Hi Jo,
Thanks anyway Jo. My double vision must have created a double post. do you think you can delete one for the jar opener? it was a can opener too...my eyes are so whacky at times. ![]() But they are the two most helpful items in the kitchen right now. di

Sounds like a trapped optic nerve or pressure on the optic nerve....have you been to an opthamologist to have your eyes checked out just in case????
just a thought!! love and hugs, Victoria ![]()

But it was night and day when I got the valium for the spasms refilled. But he only filled .05 not the 10 mg I need to aliviate the symptoms. But the nerves to the muscles are intact from the exam, it has to be compression from spasms in the traps, neck and head.... Scary though when you can't see right. Blessings ![]() di

No double vision here, but I've got blind four times. Apparently it was an occular migraine. So, something like pressure on a nerve or vessel somewhere. I imagine it's the same for double vision, right?

Well with help of Valium the souble vision reduced, but not gone. If I take two it is much better. But a symptom; twitch that is so slight in the out corner of my upper lid.
This is driving me crazy. I have new symptoms of late to; hump on the left shoulder, spasms up the left side of the neck. My head seems pulled down toward the left shoulder. Feeling like my eyelashes are stuck together, like I have to open my eye more. If I close tight or open wide the twitching goes nuts. My medical coverage runs out the 31st unless we can get Cobra. My dh job is gone. He was there for 42 years since highschool. I was laid off last June. This is crazy, I never expected the plant to go bankrupt and close up. I have no idea what we will do without medical or afford the Cobra even with the gov help. Maybe a month. but by the end of the month we would be short for the mortgage. DH is 61 in May and not even a GED. I am going to try and see if the doc can fit me in fast for trigger points. Maybe that will help. Blessings all di ![]()

![]() Sorry about the bad news... I've been on Cobra... sucks big goose eggs. Aren't you on SS, with Medicare? There's SSI if you can qualify for that. Restrictive but some coverage. Sometimes you go in to apply and are told you don't qualify but later you find out there's exceptions to their rules, like medical necessity, medical expenses, meds. You may qualify for other services like home health services. Aids who come to your home to clean, shop for you, take care of your personal needs. They can be a Godsend for people around here. Can hubby qualify and apply for disability - pays more than early (age 62) retirement. I had bilateral Botox injections (X3) into my scalenes (ins didn't pay) and my right eye developed a twitch (found out later that was a side effect with Botox to the scalene.) Mild and rarely bothersome. So even though it's your eye twitching it could be coming from somewhere else. We're wired up that way, you know. While you're at it, try to get your annual gyno things too, dental, eye. not a doc, but sounds like torticollis happening with your neck, the fixed pulling effect. A PT can stretch that out and show you home exercises to correct and prevent worsening. Hang in there. ![]() |

Di- i'm sorry to hear about the double vision.....things about sight tend to scare the daylights out of me. I hope that you and your docs get that figured out asap.
i'm also sorry to hear about the job situation- cobra premiums do suck. have you talked to your TOS doc (i forget his name.... up in PA I think) about pricing services without insurance? My pain mgmt doc wrote off 3 or 4 series of botox injections when insurance rejected them, and then we agreed on what I would pay going forward if insurance denied my appeal. Thankfully, insurance not only reversed their decision and paid, they paid for the treatments my doc didn't think he'd get paid for. I hope and pray that you can reach a solution.
