I am having pain in right arm. It is located below and on the side of the bicep just above the elbow. I do have median, ulnar, brachial nerve damage in that arm. But pain is for three days now. Anyone else fell this area before?

At times I've had a tender spot on the outside of my arm/bicep and above my elbow. For awhile it was quite painful. The MD never did give it a name...I did get some PT about that time and they did a good job of pain reduction for me.
When it was most bothersome for me, I think it was due to tension/spasms pulling on everything, my wrist joints flared up at the same time so i think it all was related. There are insertion areas where the muscles/tendons attach to the bones those places can get irritated too. I hadn't noticed it for awhile - but i was pressing around to see if it was in the areas you described and I found it again, but only a slight tenderness with pressing on it.

I'm so sorry you're having pain in that area. I have done so many things for my arms. They hurt to the point of wanting to chew them off or shoot them off. I'm way beyond that nowadays. (MVA in 10-2000). NeuroTalk Communities - researching, communicating and reading from other TOSers has given me much insight, support and relief. "Elbows as straight as possible with palms up." Boy, that was a good morsel. Thanks so much for this site. Good and bad medical advice - I learned not to bug them with too many complaints, understanding now they're human, and not expect a quick fix and not to believe everything you're told. You are your best advocate. Put your thinking cap on. I've had lots of therapy. Yoga, exercise to tolerance and stretches helped. Meds, vitamins, injections, trigger point massage, drinking lots of water, aqua therapy, ultrasound (caused pain at shoulder joint), E-stim, Kinesio Tape (helped with ADLs and healing), spinal alignment board, balls, pillows (all kinds of pillows), traction, physical therapy ASTM (very painful physical therapy-wouldn't recommend it to anyone). TheraCane, LED and infrared therapy (helpd tremendously). I've worn arm socks because my arms were COOOOOLLLLLDDDDDDDD. Keeping them warm keeps pain down to a very low level. Hot showers. I used to use a heating pad to the point of getting burns, and burning them out. It's soothing, but heat causes swelling, on a microscopic basis. Using blankets, throws and warm clothing has replaced the need for a heating pad. Biofreeze, BenGay Extra... the red one. I'm sure there were other things. Oh, yeah. At one point, a short period of time, whiskey. cussing and praying in the same moment... I realized my arms were not going to fall off or explode. In a weird way, I found comfort in that. I think my case was extreme; in that, compounding my pain level was a combination of problem cervical discs, whiplash, back, TOS, scalenes, pecs, life and work . It has not been easy. You can PM me if you need more info about any of the above. I will tell you more in detail if you want to try any of the above. I pray you find relief soon. May take a little time, though. Hang in there.

i have gotten so used to having pain there that i don't even think of it anymore, but i get some pain there too.
funny how when you ignore something you don't even notice it after a while. but when i poke at it the thing still agrees that it's in pain. give it 10 yrs, maybe yours will "feel" better too. |

I always say this on the RSD forum and I wanted to say it here. We can't blame the TOS for everything. We tend to do that with these things.
I have had 2 right rotator cuff surgeries, ulner nerve surgery, and triggerfinger surgery on the right side along with the TOS surgery. I still have CTS, and ulner on the left side. It's trying to come out now but I just try and do too much. I am going to slow down in hopes to get it all to calm down to avoid surgeries on those for now. You might ask your Dr. about triggerpoint injections. I had them in my shoulder, elbow and hand before I got to the point where I needed surgery. My Dr. uses Lidocaine, no steriods and they do help for months, even years. Ada |

I also have had CTS surgeries and Ulnar, median, radial nerve damage, plus the brachail plexus in both arms. Plus frozen shoulders. Yes, I have trigger point injections. They help a lot. |
