Don't worry about sounding shallow or petty; you are going through a very difficult issue and it's natural to be frustrated, especially when you see someone else get better care. I have the same feelings a lot when reading people's posts here; I can't imagine finding half of the resources I have read about here, and I know as long as I am controlled by work comp nothing like them will get approved. So yeah, I get jealous too; don't sweat it. Just focus on your recovery.

Dolfinwolf,
Wait and see how his neuro does when he does not improve as fast as the neuro expects. When it comes to concussion and neuros, there are generic neuros (clueless), good neuros (good listeners), great neuros (good listeners and help the patient understand what is happening) and outstanding neuros (good listeners who help the patient understand what is happening and how to reduce or tolerate the symptoms). It would be interesting to hear what advice he is being given.

I think another important quality among neuros is their willingness to advocate for their patient's best interests (subtly or directly) in their medical correspondence to employers, insurance companies, etc.
And of course their degree of sophistication and knowledge when it comes to what PCS actually is (as opposed to the stereotypical versions out there). |
