So, just an update...decided to go to a new neurologist, one that specializes in sports injuries/concussions...
I don't know if it will even help, but I figure something is better than nothing. It will help me at work, if nothing else, since i "fired" my other neuro. (Work wants me to participate in an outdoor event in the heat of August, and I know I cannot do it without passing out with my symptoms) So, anyway the appt is at 330 today and I am guardedly excited...

Good for you, hope this one is understanding and is also prepared to be assertive with your employers on your behalf x

Life as I knew it came to a shuddering halt that day. 20 year history of depression and anxiety now coupled with memory issues, personality change, speech and communication problems, ringing ears, impulsivity etc etc etc. Damaged people are dangerous.....they know they can survive! |

thank you all for your support!!! My appointment went really well, actually. I like this neuro a lot. He was very understanding about concussions and is going to see me again in 4 weeks. I really honestly didn't get any more answers, (I learned most of what I know from the forum here)
But it was SO wonderful to have a doctor who FINALLY didn't look at me and use the exact words "you have a fantastic story but nothing is wrong with you." (which is what I got in the past) Now that i have a doc, I feel like i have the ammo to tell people where to stick it when they don't believe me. HA HA HA! Now to just deal with the depression of still not being the same person with the same cognitive function. But...still happy with my results. I am going to do the Omega 3 fish oil thing like Mark has suggested in other threads, but I have a question: what is the difference with DHA and EPA and should I just do a DHA fish oil as opposed to a DHA/EPA blend? An appreciative thanks to anyone who can answer that! ![]()

I'm so glad to hear it went well, even if you didn't get any new answers. Sometimes its more important to be heard and get validation than anything. (What I wouldn't GIVE?!)
Understand about the depression about not being the same person, I am really struggling with that right now... no magic answers, but I wish. No idea about the fish oil, but I'm sure someone will have the answer for you! Starr |

You want to use a fish oil rich in Omega 3 and also Omega 6 and 9 if you can find it. If you have the Omega 3, 6, and 9, you have covered the bases. B-12, magnesium, and calcium are also very important.
I just picked up some fish oil at Costco that has Omega 3, 6, and 9. I take 24 total pieces each morning. Only 2 are meds. The rest are supplements/vitamins.
