woke up at 8am. stayed awake until 1am. took ambien and Neurontin. fell asleep and woke up one hour later with internal tremors and those dreams I get where my mind seems like it's trying to solve a puzzle that cant be solved, like counting the wind. I know it sounds crazy but that's what happens. oh well. better luck tomorrow night.

I no longer take ambien. It just frustrates me. Its weird but my sleep seems worse when I take it. Aslo my tolerance to it goes up really fast.
valium helps but I feel really dopey the next day...also my memory definitely sucks more when I take it |

lexapro is helping me sleep more, and also be a walking zombie all day. hopefully the latter will wear off, but not the better sleep

April 11, 2014 Flipped in class 2 white water while kayaking, hit my forehead (was wearing a helmet). Lots of symptoms to begin with. Those remaining are fatigue, brain freezes/overstimulation, headaches, sensitivity to light and sound. Insomnia is getting better but still an issue, and appetite is ba-ack! Depression and anxiety are largely under control thanks to Lexapro, exercise, and a very distant light at the end of the tunnel. Drugs: Lexapro, occasional 2-5mgs ambien. Off amatryptaline. Taking about 453 supplements. Just started vision therapy, waiting on some blue-tinted prism glasses. "You will encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. I can certainly relate to the sleep issues. I also have the mind issues and i think the doctor thinks I am worrying all night when thats not it at all - I worry when I am awake. when sleeping my mind is like listening to a radio that is constantly changing channels all night - i dont fee I spend a lot of time in a deep sleep which is what your body needs - I always wake feeling tired and the cycle fluctuates up and down from there

Sleep, what the hell happens to it with PCS?! Some people have no problems and actually sleep more as a result, the luxury of 7 hours sleep is something I would dream about if I could!
I stopped taking OTC sleep meds (my doctor won't prescribe zopiclone etc) 7 weeks ago as I was on them for about 3 months, my sleep has not yet improved, I can't sleep for more than 3 hours max without waking up, then I have to get back to sleep again. This happens about 3 times during the night. I can't figure why I can't sleep through a whole 7 hours it's bizarre. Occasionally I get a decent amount of sleep, usually if I've had a good day and in a good frame of mind which suggests it's psychological. Maybe that's why PCS sufferers are prescribed AD's. Tinnitus doesn't help. |
