Hi, Brain MRI
though I know no one here is a Doctor, anyone who might be able to suggest what this means would be grateful. It's nerve racking enough to have this kind of MRI let alone not understanding it.

Mild to moderate burden of nonspecific white matter T2 prolongation, and
significant T2 signal hyperintensity within the pons and brainstem. These
findings may be secondary to early manifestations of chronic small vessel
ischemia and brainstem ischemic gliosis. Demyelinating disease and other
etiologies are also considerations, in the appropriate clinical setting.

Your neurologist should be able to tell you exactly what this all means. I hope you have an appointment scheduled with them ASAP? They should absolutely spend time with you so that you completely understand what this means and take time to answer any questions you end up thinking of then and later about this.

I am absolutely not a Dr. or a medical professional but it sounds like the radiologist who interpreted this MRI believes there to be some damage visible.

You may want to get a second opinion for peace of mind.

I see DDD and spinal issues on your profile page, do you have Concussion, TBI or PCS also?

If no TBI/PCS etc , you might post this question & MRI on our Spinal forum or another forum here that might fit better for your question.
