My outstanding symptoms revolve around inner and i think it's possible to have a Fistula in my right inner ear.
My symptoms are dim light brain fog (surreal feeling) and Tinnitus. All this I believe is tied to torn membranes in the inner ear. However prior to having surgery how would we be certain of Perilymph Fistula? Thanks. |

I think you need to find an ENT, maybe at a teaching hospital to do the diagnostics.
Keep in mind that there is no cure for common tinnitus. Unless you have some extremely rare condition, you may just need to learn to live with your tinnitus. My ears are ringing like a bell right now. I just ate and they will be this way for a hour or so before then settle down to a less intrusive level. What makes you think your symptoms are related to a perilymph fistula ? Have you had CSF leakage ? That is usually associated with head injury fistulas. http://american-hearing.org/disorder...ula/#diagnosed |

Its my belief it's torn membranes in the inner ear because of the sound sensitivity and dim light disorientation.
Most things would have healed by now on its on. I have also developed painful headaches if i lean over or tilt my head to the right on the exact site of impact. they go away after a few seconds however very painful. i don't know how much my recovery has been influenced by lack of sleep. However the insomnia has been horrendous the past 18 months. I'm lucky to get 4-5 hours of sleep...at best. My tinnitus is awful. As in so many different sounds and nothing can mask it. |

If you struggle with sounds, that does not mean an ear issue. It is a common neurological issue due an injury to how the brain processes sound. Tinnitus is similar.
The dim light issue is also a neurological issue. Based on what I have read about perilymph fistulas, none of your symptoms suggest one. I would be more concerned about your sleep. Lack of sleep will easily make the other symptoms much worse. What is you sleep hygiene like ? What do you do in the hours before sleep ? What is you sleep environment like ? What happens when you try to fall asleep ? Do you fall asleep but wake up early/frequently ? |
