Hey haveaheart!
I am kind of new here too. But I have had TN for 13 years and I had it for 2 years before I knew what it was. Once I found out what it was it was SO bad I had to have an MVD almost right away! MVD is a microvascular decompression of the nerve. They wrap teflon sponges around the nerve so the artery that is wrapped around my nerve can't touch it. That's what's wrong with me, I can't say what's touching your nerve. Anyway, I take Nortriptoline, topamax, depakote, lyrica, sometimes Baclifin, Tylonal 3 with codien, oxicodone and I think that's about it. When it's real bad I go to the ER and get a few shots of Diloted it doesn't help the pain but it helps me so I don't care and so I can just go to sleep. Oh I also have Valume so I can sleep when the pain is bad because I get so stressed out that I freak out and that just makes the pain worse. I pace around the house like a scared animal because I don't know when it's going to zap me again and it drives me crazy, Hope some of that was helpful to you. Oh My MVD lasted 10yrs and so I was pain free for those years and it just came back this sept. and sept - dec was pure hell! But now it is in remission again. YIPPIE Pam ![]() Quote:
