Dear Donna,
The pharmacies like to pretend that any generic is as good as the brand when it is not true.
I hope buying the drug from your local pharmacy helps him.

Dear Donna

i hope you can get it worked out so whoever is filling your prescriptions respects the instructions and this doesn't have to keep happening. Folks don't deserve this treatment.

Dear Mari

it isn't just the pharmacies pretending. the generics have to follow national regulations for equivalence. FDA in US, i don't know in mine, but there are regulations. but clearly those regulations are not good enough. and i don't know why but i think the AEDs are particularly problematic. even though i don't have seizures i took lamictal as an adjunctive antidepressant. when the generic came out i had to switch... my eyes went berserk - had nystagmus almost constantly. it was awful. (but doesn't even compare to having seizures all the time!) i cannot afford brand and had to stop taking it. i could not have got another script to try another generic for 2 months... and no assurance that it would be any better, either.

Dear Waves,

Even my Verapamil can be problematic. This happened only once but it was bad enough.
When I picked it up and saw that it was a different color pill, the pharmacist brushed off my concerns and said something awful like if I experience anything because of the new manufacturer, it will only be in my head.
It was in my head. Two days into the new Verpamil, I got anxiety.
I had extras thank goodness and threw the rest away. I found another pharmacy until that one switched back to the manufacturer I liked.

I've seen the flood of people on the internet discussing problems from generic Lamictal.
I cannot imagine what it is like for people who take the AEDs.

What bothers the most is that when it holds your life in its hands.

It seems to not matter. And it holds Derrick's. I don't seem to have
a choice what I think about it. I will be though. Somehow.

Even if Zonegran itself has to go.

Dear Donna,
With some insurance plans the doc can write a letter insisting that the Name Brand of the drug is medically necessary.

Does Derrick's plan let the doctor do that?

Gosh its so funny. Ive been in Indy all week. Or at least till today.

But so glad you had a good week so far. Enjoy the rest of the
week.

If you are leaving Indy. Make sure you wait till the race starts
on Sunday. Otherwise you will not be able to move much till
the traffic goes down.
