hi donna and waves

Ok, I tried to convince you, and didn't do so good. Is your shower safe? Sometimes people fear the shower because of falling. I still think that the shower refreshing my mood as well as my body. It lifts you up and is also a good place to meditate. Get a shower stool, sit and let that water beat on you a bit, I still think it does wonders. ginnie

Dear Ginnie,

you made good suggestions, and i am sure they will be helpful to some (maybe even lurkers who don't post).

however, each of us is an individual with individual needs, difficulties, and situations, not to mention personal preferences. there is no "one right/best way" for everyone to do everything, no one size fits all. if we were all the same, the world would be pretty boring, wouldn't it?

wrt showers, they just aren't the preferred method for some of us to wash. some of us might feel awkward about it, but others of us do not see it as something needing "fixed." just as there are many ways to climb a mountain, there are many ways to keep clean, feel refreshed etc, besides showering.

p.s. i am glad you enjoy your showers. :)
p.p.s. my shower is perfectly safe. :)

Once I am in there I love the hot water so much so that I run out of it. IT takes me along time to shower and get everything clean and hair washed and then dried and styled, it probably takes an hour to do all of that.
It is just getting into it. I am lazy and don't want to make the effort.
Every thing is an effort. I am on the computer a lot. my bowels are still messed up, thinking about seeing a colorectal specialist. I am getting used to drinking my coffee black though I miss the french vanilla creamer so much but that has a lot of sugar in it.And I am trying to avoid sugar. dieting sucks.....
My work is terribly slow, I am getting depressed.

dunno what the deal is, but

i think i may have lost a couple pounds? that's what the scale says anyway. i've seen it vary up or down a smidgeon, but not a full kilo like this (2.2 lbs).

haven't been dieting or anything. in fact, i've been eating croissants (you know those buttery things?) on mornings i teach, with a double espresso and double sugar!

maybe just the "extra" movement going to teach, but i really don't have to move much to get there/back.... i only have the bus plus a subway ride. then the school is really close. i guess a few times i have done errands after class, that involved walking a good bit. that could add up, i supppose.

unless it is the bouts of anxiety that i keep getting. when i am anxious i sometimes lose weight. today i am anxious and agitated ... restless in fact, to the point of discomfort. :( i have even had less coffee the past couple days because of this being "too awake" (despite less sleep).

well hey, if this results in a couple more pounds melting off and staying off, i'll tolerate it... that sure would be a nice silver lining... no, golden!

To Bizi

Dear Bizi :heartthrob:

i am sorry you are starting to feel so down. :(

i wonder if you could talk to your pdoc about your lamictal dosage... that might help with depression if you have any margin for increase.

there is also still the possibility (i know, i know... you can shoot me) of accepting a small amount of Zoloft. In the US, it comes in 25's and they are divisible so you could start at 12.5... that is a real baby amount, and do it for like 10 days rather than a week. then up to 25, which is still a baby amount, then 37.5 (if you're ok) up to 50 and stop there see if it helps.

Prozac has a much longer half-life than Zoloft and it takes a few weeks to wash out. Zoloft has a 26 hour half life. If you are at a low dose (50mg or less), you can still suspend without tapering. washout is ~6 days, so it gives you the ability to fix things pretty quick, at the first suspicion of trouble.

just to let you know, you could do a pretty soft trial with Zoloft, between the dosages available and its specific pharmacokinetics. not saying you should do that. i respect your feelings about what you take and what you don't.

i really just hope you feel better soon, somehow. sending lots of good thoughts and (((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))

Yep you are right

I know you are right. Many ways to do a job, and all of them are good. I guess I am a water sign, as I have always love being in it. The ocean, a lake, a tub, a shower, heck as a toddler just two years old my mother said I would sit in the bucket whenever she cleaned the floors! When my mom got older however, her dislike of any cleaning or hygene got serious. Always an excuse, and my dad was somewhat like that too as he aged. I just tried to show them the good parts about it to make the experience fun. My son is an occupational physical therapist. I can't tell you how many times he tells me of patients, that use every kind of excuse in the book not to get in the water at all. It can get to be an issue with certain folks. A friend of mine up in Mo. got that skin infection called MARSA, as he didn't bathe enough and had the virus on him when he got hurt outside. I guess I have seen alot from the experiences I have had. I guess I really do find joy in the experience, and I hope I continue to do so. Water here I come! have a good day all, hope all of you are OK. ginnie

Often I go through that --- feeling agitated / anxious even though I am sleepy. It is beyond uncomfortable.
Sometimes sleepy helps it.

Maybe you get good restful sleep.

tuna rocks!

Thanks everyone! :)

i just hope that little bit of weight stays off... and maybe some more comes off? lol.

i just had a sandwich: tuna with half a red onion sliced thin, on wheat bread. YUMMMM!

i didn't add mayo or anything to the tuna, however i did leave in every single drop of the olive oil in which it was packed ... well, it makes a really good mash. :p:cool:

Oh dear i do so love food. it is amazing i can even stay the same weight the way i love food. probably it is that i don't eat unless i'm hungry. (that principle goes down the creek without a paddle when i am depressed - i then i eat for comfort... it is very hard not to gain then.)
