agitation / anxiety / sleep / migraines / caffeine
Dear Mari
Quote:
i think probably all aspects are signals of needing sleep. so yeah, probably sleep would help. when it is not an option i usually have extra caffeine to stay coherent, especially if the anxiety is high enough to take lorazepam which makes me even sleepier, because i don't use it frequently. my sleep has been variable. with migraines i need tons of sleep... early this week i got ~10-12 hours a night + day naps d/t midcycle migraines (only 1.5 days this time, not 3! yippee!). then, ~wednesday, i started sleeping ~5 hours and having agitation on top of the anxiety, but less daytime somnolence apart from initial morning grogginess. the fact that i am addicted to caffeine, had less sleep, yet had to reduce it, really speaks to the change in my energy level. i think when i do sleep - whether a lot or a little - it is pretty good quality sleep, except when i have that sobbing stuff happen. ~ waves ~ |
stress / energy levels etc / lessons
Dear Bizi
Quote:
most likely the baseline factor is stress, but the timing of the energy & mood changes may not be so arbitrary after all. i am going to see what happens next month. i am starting to think this is not rapid cycling and that these changes are more hormone/migraine-related than Zoloft-related. the lessons are going pretty well... but it is still a lot of work, and still stressful. it will be for the duration of this course and the next if she chooses to continue... since i am prepping all the materials. My student has some issues including a poor/non-existent grammatical understanding of her own language, so my lessons/materials are very much tailored so she can "deal" with them. She has other limitations including but not limited to health. It all rather sheds new light on her "confusion" and inability to cope with the previous two beginner classes she attempted. |
It is good that you are helping her...she has a lot to learn it sounds like.
((((HUGS)))) bizi |

Yes, that is much of what happens in these classes. When students are not good at thinking through the grammar in their first language, their second language learning is hard. Quote:

crazy scale or ... wut the???
ok. now the scale is telling me i have lost another kilo (2.2) lbs!!! that would be 4.4 lbs total! i am incredulous. :thud:
ok now i'm not manic, and have not done a lot of errands lately, so am guessing the nerves are burning calories. my appetite is up there - and i do not deprive myself believe me. oh, i am somewhat cautious with ready carbs but not totally off them either (sugar in coffee, 1 or two candies per day). but for the rest.... i mean... when we have chicken breast or turkey i totally slather it in olive oil... at least a tablespoon, probably more... today, lunch was another tuna sandwich. tuna packed in oil... i didn't use all the oil today, but a good bit. we are low on red onions, so i put garlic powder and cayenne on it instead. YUMMMMM! :D Yes, i am a tuna fanatic! I like it on salad too rather than bread, but there hasn't been any available for lunch lately. ~ waves ~ dying to see that needle drop some more... it's magic, you know! (never believe it's not soooo...) |
congratulations on the weight loss! that is great!
I am watching my carbs too but I had the most delicious purple sweet potato today for lunch. lots of carbs but they don't effect your blood sugars as much so a lower glycemic index than a regular white potato. dinner tonight was a frozen entree with little shrimps and lots of water chest nuts and carrots and sugar snap peas in a ginger sauce. good easy 10 minutes. quick salad voila...dinner. bizi |
hey bizi
Hi! who puts out that good sounding dinner with the shrimp?. That sounded yummy. I had a BLT tonight and two small tangernes. Yum. let me know. ginnie

pf chang and it was expensive with 20 smallish shrimp
to split between the 2 of us. I am already hungry! I just ate a piece of cheese and am about ready to snack on some almonds. bizi |
waves that is so great about more weight loss. I got on the scale today afraid i had gained a few pounds but i didn't gain any. I heard that if you have more sleep you are more likely to lose weight. lol..also grapefruits...i looked up drug interaction and grapefruits don't seem to interact with the drugs i am taking.
