WEll the cheddar and almonds weren't quite enough so I was in a weak moment and had 4 thin mints girl scout cookies. I could have eaten the box so felt good at stopping at 4.
This morning I broke down and am having my french vanilla creamer with my coffee. I have missed it so....yum.
make it a good day.
They say we can make ourselves miserable by weighing every day. They suggest only once a week...I can't seem to do that myself...lol
bizi who goes up and down on the scale all month...don't have a clue what I really weigh. I need to drink more water!

mymorgy 03-27-2012 09:22 AM

i think i feel better when i weigh myself everyday because i am always afraid lately that i have gained a lot of weight in the interval. it is sort of torture getting back on the scale.

Dear Majo, that's great!

Dear Majo

Congratulations on the 4 kilos!!!! :excited:

no wait......... 8.8 lbs, yes! (I like pound numbers better... they're bigger. :D) and hey 8.8 is practically 9!!! :p:D

patience patience. try not to be mad. when it comes off slow it is healthier for you and more likely to stay off.

and............ :yikes:

*please* do not eat ZERO carbohydrates, or you will have ZERO energy....

... and go KERFLOOOOPP!!! :thud:

limit your ready-carbs, especially nutritionally "empty" ones as in sweetened drinks, candy, etc, sugar in tea or coffee, etc. even brown sugar is typically refined white sugar to which they've added just enough molasses to give it a beige tinge. "natural" cane sugar is still sucrose... double sugar which gives you a blood sugar spike followed by a rapid drop if taken alone. having zero sucrose is fine. ;)

However, simple sugars, even though they are ready carbs, are much healthier than sucrose... they do not produce the sudden insulin response that sucrose does. These sugars can be found in fruit and veggies.

another important thing is when you eat the healthy carbs, balance them with with protein, fat and fiber. this way your body gets some energy for now and some for later. some foods (like legumes and certain vegetables) already have such a combination.) other foods like potatoes or rice, have predominantly starch, so those need to be limited and combined with other foods.

Thank you waves for all the advices !!!

Im wondering about honey... for tea for example.... how is it considered ??

Hum... honey.... yummy... hehe

waves 03-27-2012 01:23 PM

Dear Majo,

honey is almost all sugars... but has traces of other nutrients that make it a healthy food in general. raw unfiltered honey is supposed to be the best - if you can't get unfiltered, at least raw is better.

it is mostly fructose and glucose singly. use it in moderation. combine it with other foods.

caloriewise i seem to remember it is a little denser than sucrose...

from www.honey.com, here is an article with everything you ever wanted to know about honey :D :

http://www.honey.com//images/downloads/refguide.pdf

it goes great with peanut butter btw. if you can get say a sprouted multigrain bread (low on starch), chunky peanut butter mmmm... with a little honey..... that's yummy. :)

Majo,

Our brains need carbohydrates.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/41...n-in-the-body/

Quote:

Organ Function
Because all organs are made up of cells, and all metabolically active body cells need fuel, carbohydrates are important to the function of all your organs.
The brain, in particular, depends upon carbohydrates.
While most cells can burn carbohydrates, protein or fat for energy, the brain preferentially burns glucose. Your muscles also burn glucose preferentially during periods of particularly intense effort, such as during a sprint or if you're lifting a very heavy weight.

congratulations on the weight loss!!!!! that is great!!!!!!!!
(that is almost 36 sticks of butter!!!!)
keep up the good work. You can lose weight eating 100 carbs a day. Just comes off really slowly which is better.
way to go!
