I need to get going this morning quickly to becoming this afternoon, as I sit herer in my jammies still. I have been posting on www.sparkpeople.com they have specific community support groups related to your interests. I have joined the low carb, 10 pounds or less, louisiana groups. The site is slow because it is such a large group and I think their server can't handle all of the users, just my thoughts. Even though I am reaching my goals albeit slowly but surely. I still have a lot of belly fat. When I regained all of my weight loss last/this year It seems to have concentrated on my belly. I look a bit pregnant....so starting today I am going to do some sit ups and try to do them every day....Still having fatigue in the evenings about 50% of the time. Have not been to the gym in forever, might just cancel my membership....I feel like a failure in that regard if I do that.
sigh
I am getting off this computer which I have been on for the past 2 hours.
and doing some situps I will post how many I was able to do.

did 40 crunches(strained neck a bit) and 10 knee push ups...it is a start!

I go to the site also, but I am slacking right now.

Just haven't figured out the food area to well.

I also seem to have trouble with it. Heehee, think its been
the headache. Need to return as soon as the headache goes away.

Bizi... weight loss & gym

Dear Bizi

are you sure the belly thing isn't flab (skin) from losing weight? if it is, time will help. Toning exercises will also help - esp crunches but please be careful of posture... straining neck will not improve or expedite abdominal toning! :o

you used to enjoy going to the gym. i bet you can pick that up again, but you don't have to go from zero to full throttle. since you're not feeling good, i think the idea of going 3-4 times a week might create too much pressure and feel overwhelming.

what if you made a date with yourself, to go there just once. see how you feel. then take it a day at a time. maybe make another date... but not on any particular schedule. it might give you some positive feedback - get you back into feeling like going. then picking up your routine again won't feel so hard.

Canceling the membership would not make you a failure! but i encourage you to keep the membership, and try to just take things one day at a time.

love

The site isn't going anywhere. it will be there when you feel better.

There is a time for everything. Now is the time for Donna to take it easy in every way possible. Since your meds aren't working, the only helpful thing i know of is rest, especially sleep. So get as much of those as you can. I know it's hard for you as a working mom andthensome, but... as much as you can. ;):hug::hug:

thanks waves, The thing about the gym is the showering aspect. When I was going I was showering after working out it was a great routine, now that I am not going I have not been showering regularly, it is awful, like this morning I should get going and take a shower I avoided it all weekend but really must this morning, my hair is greasy. I am torn because jeff and I have been going for walks in the evening after dinner, so this is activity with him that I am enjoying, normally I would be going to the gym 3 times a week and miss the interaction with him.I stopped going to the gym because of the extreme fatigue while there 8pm...could not do my regular stair masters. I would feel better if I went I know that. I only did 10 push ups yesterday and they were very hard to do. Can't believe how sore I was from doing them 2 days ago.
thanks for writing to me.

WEll showered and washed my hair in relatively short order. did 12 knee push ups and 60 sit ups, differently this time laid on my back and raised my legs straight up and then lifted my hips up off the floor sort of reverse crunches so I did not use my neck at all it stayed on the floor. My kitty cat hazel was all curious and friendly because I was on the floor funny! Rewarding myself with a second cup of coffee and more computer time. have a later client this morning so that is why I showered this morning instead of last night.
my drinking is not in control...don't like this. I feel like I am rebelling.

yeah, not so good, but what is good is your awareness of the situation and awareness of your feelings about it. you will get better. perhaps ask yourself about the rebellion... don't try to propose hypothetical answers... just keep a quizzical mind on it... something might "pop up" on its own. another thing is, try not to judge or berate yourself for this rebellion, nor for being out of control. limit yourself to seeing it. try to keep a quizzical and open mind about it... where am i going and why? my 2c although i think Kabat-Zinn had a hand in those 2c! ;)

you are a good person and i care about you. i see that you are making huge efforts to feel better and be healthier. that is wonderful, and no easy task for how you are feeling! Please give yourself lots of credit for that... and maybe some self-hugs ;) Here are some from me...:hug::hug:

Well that's good that you have been resting as much as possible. :) Hmmm. about the night thing, i that sometimes happens to me... night has less light... sometimes migraines let up then... it's a breather and i can do some stuff. But many times, i am so wiped out from my migraines (even if the headache part is not severe!) that i need to nap repeatedly during the day and then sleep at night all the same. :o

Soo.... i don't know what can work for you. Truly though, my inclination would be to say, sleep when you most need it and disregard the clock for now. if that means you sleep daytime and not nighttime, it does'nt matter for now. this is temporary. hopefully the docs will fix you up with some good meds on thursday. :o

thank you waves.
on my second blue moon right now....walked down with jeff to our local bar. It was closed...I wanted to see if they had fixed up the place at all. It has been open off and on for the past month. It is 2 1/2 blocks from our house so it is really convenient. Has such potential, when it is open very few people there.
anyway, we walked back home.
thank you for your support.
