yippie! I made it to the gym and lifted some weights, 10 push ups, walked on the stair masters for 30 minutes sweat, then SHOWERED!!!!
And even met a woman my age that I talked to and gave her my cell number. Felt great to have the energy and motivation to work out. I got back on the scale and it is as bad as I thought...but oh well, tomorrow is a new day. bizi:) |
Bizi
You did the things you needed to start. Yippeee is so right. I am doing okay with my diet issues. I am eating salads. And doing pretty good eating diet foods. had steak one night. with baked potatoes. next night had sloppy joes. And then had other things. Donna:grouphug: |
Bizi,
I am glad that you went to the gym. You are doing great. M |
By the way I have a new set of scales finally. I am between 212 and 215.
But I am working to get to 200 soon. Hoping it happens. But for some reason people think I have lost weight. We will see. But it looks good, because I have been able to get in a smaller size and its been years since I've been in this size. Donna:grouphug::hug: |
Bizi - losing weight/keeping it off is hard with mood swings
Dear BiziI'm sorry about the regained weight. I know just how it is... been fighting what I gained on Zyprexa ever since my first time on it.... in 2004!!! :( i've lost, gained, lost, gained, etc etc. :( I'm still just about maxed out. had lost about 4 lbs during the course - gained some if not all of it back already... comfort eating i think.
I am glad you feel well enough to go to the gym at this point... and that you WENT! That's wonderful. Hopefully the scales will tip in your favor again soon. :) (((hugs))) ~ waves ~ |
Donna - BMI change?
Hi Donna
If you look slimmer... and fitting into smaller clothes confirms that you are slimmer, then perhaps even if there has not been a weight change there has been a change in Body Mass Index... perhaps you lost some fat but put on some muscle - this could happen if you were more active for a time or doing any sort of weight-bearing - more than your usual. it's the only explanation i can think of if your actual weight hasn't changed... unless i misunderstood. anyway, good luck on reaching your goal of 200, and i'm glad you are fitting into more clothes... that has got to feel great! :):hug::hug: ~ waves ~ |
Hi Dmom
Dear Dmom, this is to send encouragement. I was at your weight for most of my life. You can do this If I can. I got down to 127 which was too thin, and now balance between 135 and 140. a far cry from what I was. Just keep trying, don't give up. I never was able to do it before either, tried all my life. I kinda eat like Bizi does, some good points from waves too. Try all the time to eat fresh, and little meat. I just want you to know, that all your goals can be met. You are in my thoughts and prayers. ginnie

still on my go-easy-on esophagus/stomach diet - 2 lunches
hi.
i have been eating pretty well. i miss the spices. i am going to have to shuffle my way through my own posts to figure out what the heck day i started that... to know when i can start reintroducing spice again. for now i wanted to share some lunches i have been doing: -- today it was tuna in oil with half a raw bell pepper (or other veg). clean the pepper cut lengthwise strips, about 1in wide. set on plate. open tuna can. grab a teaspoon and mash tuna still in can. holding a piece of pepper over tunacan (so as not to dirty the plate!) spoon a bit of tuna onto end of pepper piece and bite in... repeat until one is finished and consume whatever is left alone. washup is only 1 spoon, unless you have to store recyclables in which case you have stupid stinky tuna can too... :(. plate and knife used to cut pepper just need rinsed. alternative veggies i eat are cucumber or fennel. Failing that wasa krisps - which don't even need washed LOL. This is extremely fast food. the big drawback is having to wash that darn tunacan... :o -- i also discovered cream-cheese mashed potato with broccoli. last time we were out of cream cheese so i used yogurt. cream cheese is tastier but (whole) yogurt is ok. first i nuke the potato. then i put the broccoli in the microwave in a big enough bowl to hold everything. while it cooks, i peel the potato under cold water, then wrap it in a paper towel and bash it around in my hands 3-4 times. the potato gets mashed fast that way. i take the broccoli out and cut it into smaller pieces (only coz i like to eat everything with a teaspoon). add the cream cheese and potato, mix it all up and VOILA. lunch. this one takes about 10 minutes including cooking time and the only dirty dishes are 1 bowl and 1 spoon. the knife doesn't count - i just rinse that lol! the potato peel comes off mostly using fingers once it is nuked. ~ waves ~ p.s. i would ordinarily mix powdered garlic and cayenne into the tuna while i mash it up... currently have to forgo that, due to "bland" diet i am on.... sigh. :o |
maybe you can see to really tasting your bland food to appreciate its subtle flavors...I find that sometimes I use so much hot sauce it masks the food.
sorry you are having to eat a bland diet for now. bizi |
still enjoying food
hi Bizi :) yes, i am still enjoying my food... it's not that. i can enjoy plain food. (if you look in the grateful thread, you'll probably see half my posts are food-related :o:rolleyes: - and nothing fancy either!)
i just miss that whole range of things i can't have that is "normal" for me, plus those i might use less frequently "for a change of pace" or when i'm not cooking for parents... i really love the creamcheese mashed-potatoes - recommend it even without broccoli... i don't even put salt or pepper in it!!! i imagine you can use light cream cheese if worried about calories but really it doesn't take much creamcheese anyway - about 2 tbsp. ~ waves ~ |
