Is chinese food bad for you? I always thought if they left out the MSG that it wasn't so bad with all the veggies and all. Just curious.
Hope you are doing OK today. Still hurt today, where the injections were for dental. I do not know why I am so sensitive to this. It takes days before the pain goes away. I go get my MRI results this afternoon, and am having trouble not being nervous. Take care, ginnie |

Bobby,
Eat foods that you like --- that is the healthy thing. I guess it is only addictive to me. -- I used a poor choice of words. 'Sorry about that. Hubby and my girlfriend like Chinese food. I don't like it. But if I am with them I eat it anyway. Maybe that is what I meant to say. M |

Well I didn't get good news about the MRI. My condition is worse than I thought. I actually have a law suit if I had money I would. I have been left to suffer these past 7 years. My former foot and ankle specialist didn't know what was wrong, and this new doc. who did the MRI could not figure that out.
I have torn achellies tendon, torn post tibial tendon, this pushed the heel bone outward and colapsed the ankle. No wonder I have been in pain. I have major surgery on May 2nd, to re-build the foot structure. It isn't the leg bone, or the foot bone, it is the structures that support the foot that colapsed. After three weeks no weight bearing, he will fuse my toe joint. Can't replace that as the failure rate is too high. fusion is best option. then it is 4-6 weeks in a walking cast, followed by intense PT. My summer is shot. thats just for the one ankle. He doesn't want to investigate the other foot, until we finish fixing this one. To tell you all the truth, after going through the two cervial fusions, I am feeling sick to my stomach about this. Very queezy finding this out. I know I needed to know what was wrong, but I wish it wasn't this serious. Why can't I just get a cold or something, why is it with me everything has to be a major deal. Feeling overwhelmed, depressed and scared. I will need you all, no quesiton about that. Gotta get a hold of my emotions right now, maybe I need a good cry. ginnie ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

implants are very expensive and not maintenance free either. i don't want to worry you but it really depends how skilled the person planning/fitting them is, AND how skilled the technician is who molds the actual piece. the supports are fitted into your jaw bone and are permanent. if there is any issue with them - placement or whatever, they can't usually move it because they can't make too many holes in the bone. i mean they can remove a support if they must, but to my knowledge it is seldom possible to add one nearby to "replace it." they usually have to work with whatever they have got. everyone's mouth is different and so there is a a bit of design work each time, even though i am sure they have basic templates. then there are the actual molded teeth that go onto the supports. i know someone who had several implants done at different times - with mixed experiences. in the first one the fitting of the supports was fine, but the pieces were too large and it was uncomfortable. they eventually broke and required gluing... etc... specialist visits. in another experience, they set a support in at an angle... nothing to be done. it was suboptimal but had to be used that way. there can be need for more frequent cleanings too, often deep cleanings. i would definitely read up on implants before moving on that - and not just the costs. the dentures might be a bother in terms of adherence, but they are probably coming out with improved adhesives all the time - something to check into. i think they are less expensive in the long term, but i am not sure since i have no idea how frequently replacement is needed, how much cleaning fluids cost, etc.. but one sure-fire advantage of dentures is, even if you get a bad one, your mouth is intact. not so with implants. so, personally, implants rather scare me. Thank you for asking. Yes this new guy is a foot, ankle and leg reconstruction specialist. I had seen two other ankle specialists, and neithor one of them believed me when I told them how much pain there was. They never did the MRI to really find out. I found this doc. on my own by researching the best in the country on the internet, and found my doctors teacher up in Ohio, he referred me to his student, my current new reconstruction specialist. I was heading for a wheel chair and had to try. Glad I did, but now I have to do this surgery. Oh boy....I will be back tomorrow. I am actually going to bed now, emotionally I am wiped out. I sure will be needing all of you. I am so glad I found good friends here. ginnie

The good news is finally something will be done. You will just have to force yourself to take things easy. Prepare all you can do ahead of time so you will not be tempted to do things that are a no..no. Glad Nan will be there for you. You will just have to learn to take it easy; you may actually enjoy having a good reason to do so. I know easier said than done. But you can do it. Think of the positive....No Wheelchair for you!!! You will have many Guardian Angels protecting and comforting you. In fact, one of my Guardian Angel's is on the way. If you listen...you will hear the flutter of "wings" . As always, you are in my prayers. (Ger) Last edited by ger715; 04-13-2012 at 09:51 AM. |

Bobby,
The rent control issue could work out many different ways. I am going to be optimistic for you. For now, try to release your attention to what happens with the Supreme Court. When I pick up Chinese for hubby lately, I get something he likes (can;t spell it) and vegetable soup. Lately I get steamed vegetables and egg drop soup. I like the plain rice too. It is different from how hubby makes it so it feels like treat in a way. Other times I order the egg fu yung (sometimes with pork because we don't cook pork much). Without the gravy/sauce on the egg fu yung, it is relatvely low-ish calorie. M |
