Wow, I wish I could keep records for work like that. I'm scraping about looking and sorting receipts for expenses. Although I didn't earn enough to worry about expenses.

I'm pretty sure my sister was going through like cases of beer. She didn't drink anything else but beer. Once in a blizzard she walked over my dads in two feet of snow around midnight to get a few bottles.

She did that experimental stuff too, donated playlets for RH factor and they helped with moms and babies with the issue. Then she got hemochondriosis. Too much iron so they blood phlebotomy to monitor it.
So there was more contributing things in the mix.

You are a good woman Bizi,

Today is the 5th day AF. I feel good about it, had a craving earlier then said that I was not going to drink so thought about something else.
jeff and I went for a walk around the neighborhood for about 40 minutes, at least 2 miles. I layered clothes on and my ears got cold until I warmed up. It was not cold, somewhere between 55 and 60 at 7pm.
Brewskis the bar that is 2 blocks from our house closed.
No more temptation there.

Not drinking seems easy when I sit on the computer chatting in a smart recovery chat room for 4 HOURS! Smart is Like AA but much more appealing in the sense that they don't label you an alcoholic you are a person.
There is no reference to god or a higher power...you are not powerless..basic assumptions in AA.
They hold on line meetings and count for meetings for probation people for dui's etc.
I avoided all paper work ...I am really behind, maybe I can hire a friend of mine to help me.
I want to be AF for a month or longer before I have my thyroid rechecked. to see if I am truly hypothyroidism or if it was messing with my tsh like I have read that consuming large amounts of alcohol could do that.
So I guess it is for health reasons and wanting to lose this extra 10 pounds of weight from the holidays and beyond.! To think that I was getting really close to my goal weight not that long ago. Scrub pants fit really tight and I refuse to go to the next size larger even though I already have them. the tightness I will endure as a reminder that I am on a diet and need to stay focused.

Bizi,

Reading your posts; reminds me of my trying to quit smoking. I would last around 17 days; don't know why 17 and then felt like the men with the "white coats" were about to come for me. I would enviably give in.

Sometimes it is still hard to believe I have been nicotine free for many years now; but the urge still comes back when I least expect it.

Glad you keep giving yourself breaks from drinking and don't give up. Tho different; in so many ways I can relate. It's not easy.

Gerry

thanks gerry.
Finally made it to the gym to walk on the tred mill 3.3 miles( a 5K) in an hour.
the bottoms of my feet are sore....I had bought new socks just for walking and forgot to wear them....sigh
my new shoes should be in next week.
I am thinking about going to a Doctor of Osteopathy.
Some one who thinks more holistically.
