TRIGGER WARNING!!!!!










this evening a couple of hours ago, a gunman shot and wounded 6 people in a movie theater 2miles from our house. He killed one and then himself. no other reports are available at this time.

Sorry to have to intrude here, but I just want to mention that it makes things much harder for us when posts are reported and then quoted in replies....... as then having to edit or add trigger icons multiplies and that in itself can be even more triggering than the original post :o

I am going to leave posts and let posters decide if they want to edit or delete as it is still in in the default time for member edits.

I wanted to share what was happening and knew that the trigger warning was controversial. Did not want to upset anyone if they were sensitive. don't know how else to share this. I want this to be a safe place to share....what did I do wrong?

bizi, you did not do anything wrong in sharing something on your own thread that was distressing to you. :hug:

You also correctly mentioned that you were sharing something triggering.

I was referring to us mods being careful about adding trigger icons to posts, as that can sometimes upset members.

I do hope that this thread will just settle now :grouphug:

I was thinking , maybe mention if it is a news story that might be triggering , or a personal story- something to let readers know what the possible triggering post might contain without saying details..

Perhaps-
Trigger-- news story w/violence /death
Or
Trigger - personal story may be upsetting

It is so difficult to guess what might be a trigger for some , but not a trigger for all...:grouphug:
