i felt i was honest with him. I forgot to mention the binging but i did tell him i was all over the place. does topamax affect you? I am have been thinking about going back on it but maybe at a lower dosage. It really interfered with my memory and slowed down my thoughts. I felt i was out of prison once i went off it.

ps i bought two pairs of shoes yesterday on ebay and bidding on another. i have two wonderful bruno magli shoes but afraid to walk more than a block and a half and start ruining them. they are the softest leather possible and can stretch. another pair of shoes i wear all the time and the heel is beginning to go.

I took Topamax for a week. It was not right for me.

Maybe you could take it for four or six weeks and then taper off. (Kind of as a "reset.")

Cool Smirk

I take Topiramate (Topamax), 100mg x 2 daily to cut down my Cluster Headache Attacks. It also helps with Neuropathic Facial Pain, but has some very rough side effects.

i was on it for about ten years and i think at 150. I am binge eating and at my heaviest since i lost a lot of weight. I am binge spending. all to fight depression.
I saw it today when i lost a bid and crashed for a while. I didn't even think the shoes would be comfortable. I am diabetic with high blood pressure. I am wondering if i should change my appt for an earlier one with my psychiatrist whom i just saw this past thursday. I am very uncomfortable.

Yes bobby, binge eating and Diabetes do not mix, but Depression causes us to act irrationally in our search for satisfaction. I just have severe, lifelong, Clinical Depression - no Mania. Even my latest AD has fuelled overeating (Mirtazapine) up until 9 months ago when I fell so badly my weight broke my ribs. I had piled on about 60lbs in 3 years, now I have lost 45lbs of it.

I do hope you can get a balance back soon. Normally I would suggest more interaction with the furry family member, but I know that your kitty is cause of increased worry at this time. You are dealing with a prolonged period of stress, do not be too hard on yourself, just concentrate on easing your Mood.

Dave.

oh wow...you are doing a great job. i initially gained about 100 pounds from all the medication and over eating and under exercising. then i lost sixty but now i have gained back 14 and am so scared.
I am bipolar II and mostly depressed. when i get manic it becomes painful. I hope your antidepressant is working for you now. Is it? How are you losing the weight? Where do you get your willpower from? Pudge has been hanging out close to me since she was given a lion cut. I think abby is jealous. for the past few days she isn't constantly seeking my attention. she is so thin. Seeing my nephew after twenty years or more unhinged me a bit.
do you have anxiety too? or just painful depression.

Hi bobby,

An increase to my AD has settled me a little, but on a lower level than I was. I am no longer spiralling downwards.

I am dieting by writing down everything I eat and counting calories. It has been a difficult time over the Holidays and since, Mirtazapine makes me crave food overnight and I am always waking up due to the pain. Cereal bars at 3am do not help, but are better than the chocolate I used to eat. I draw my willpower from bizi and the rest of my friends on the Weight Loss Forum and just from knowing I cannot continue as I was, what with Diabetes and heart problems.

Your furry companions do sound like real characters. I used to love the interactions between all of mine in the various combinations. I am too ill to care for any now and I miss the company.

I do suffer terribly with Anxiety and Panic Attacks. I am being Triggered at the moment trying to pick the phone up and return to Therapy, as I promised my GP. I was damaged by my last 2 Therapists and am scared to go back.

Dave.

You are going through so much yet in spite all, you are being quite successful. congratulations. I am sorry you can't have any furry creatures to give you comfort. I live for mine. They are the center of my universe. I wonder if i should join the forum. when i have the urge to binge now it is overwhelming. I try to have hardly anything in the apartment. right now i have broccoli and yams.
I almost broke down again yesterday and called up for chinese food. I had turkey hotdogs instead...the whole package.
I am glad you are taking good care of yourself. I don't blame you about the therapist. there are so few good ones and the others can wind up being so painful. Post here more. This helps me big time. are you taking anything for your anxiety? I take klonopin but it doesn't work that well now after all these years.
take care

My nephew alex kept his word. I got pictures of the boys skiing and attending a rodeo this weekend. Alex is such a good father! His wife had her arm around one of the boys which i thought was sweet. He signed it love
