No, I don't think the cats are scratching the furniture because they are picking up on any of my stress/negative energy. We have been struggling with this issue for years. They scratched our last couch down to the wood frame. Dottie is the worst. Corey's ready to drown her in the lake. I would like to take her, really all of them, to get soft paws put on, but I can't carry any of them to the groomer's alone, and Corey doesn't like the idea. I don't know if I could get someone to come over here to do it, or how expensive it would be. I will look into it tho because this situation is untenable.

Since the last time I took the mag. citrate, I have been going to the BR on my own most days, which is unbelievable. But it's mostly diarrhea, and I've been having A LOT of abdominal pain. Yesterday when I went to clean the toilet, it looked like there were blood spots stuck all over the toilet bowl. I've been even more fatigued than usual, have been having constant headaches, and been having some shortness of breath, so that may be from anemia. I can never go to the BR without taking extraordinary measures, so I should have known that something was wrong. I don't have a fever. I've been watching that.

I didn't do anything about it yesterday. I've never seen my PCP before, and was afraid if I called his office, they would just tell me to go to the ER. The last thing I want to do is go to the ER. I have a good gastroenterologist, but didn't think about calling him. I think I will do that today tho. He and the NP are very busy, but at least the medical assistants can relay the info and get back to me to tell me what to do- because I obviously have to do something.

Just what I needed... :(:(:(
Seriously, WTF!!!

I am sorry for your feeling ill.
You poor thing, you need a break from your physical symptoms and from pain.
I hope you get a response from your gastro.

The gastro NP sent me to the ER because she didn't feel comfortable just ordering testing because there could be so many different things going on. It wasn't the worst trip to the ER I've ever had, but I never got a room and spent the whole time on a stretcher in the hallway.

I had a CAT scan, which showed abnormalities, but the gastro MD didn't think I had an infection. I was FOS, so the MD said the diarrhea was probably from "overflow constipation," which means it was just going around more formed stool in my colon. Because there was NO privacy, the MD couldn't do a digital rectal exam, but he thought the bleeding was probably from my hemorrhoids (they're bad). They gave me IV fluids for dehydration, but there's nothing they could give me in the ER for the constipation that I haven't already used/am using.

I have to follow-up with my gastro and get that colonoscopy (which was also suggested by the ER MD) to find out what's causing the inflammation in my colon, which I'm sure is contributing to my constipation. I'll have to buy some Mirilax today and do the colon cleanse tonight. That's all I can do.

I was scared. It was a lot of blood. It's hard to believe it was all from my hemorrhoids. I didn't want to go to the ER, but I'm very relieved to know that there is nothing serious going on. And I got some very good news... my eGFR is higher, which means my kidney function is better! Not good, but better! :)

I hope I feel a lot better after taking the Mirilax tonight because I'm not feeling any better today than I was yesterday.

that is great about your kidneys! miralax can take a few days.

Kay,

You describe a tough ER visit. Happy to hear that you feel good about the ER doc's assessment. Good luck with the Mirilax. I hope that you feel better.

And good news with the eGFR!:)

I was able to read the lab results from the ER this morning. There is a way to read the results of the eGFR wrong, and the ER doc did. Unfortunately, my eGFR is NO better, it is exactly the same as it was the last time it was tested. At least it wasn't worse. Other than mild dehydration, the rest of my lab tests came back fine.
I can't view the CAT scan results until tomorrow.

I called and got an appointment with an NP (who I've never seen) at my gastro's office Wednesday, but no guidance on what to do about my current problems until then, so I took the 14 doses of Mirilax last night. After 10hrs it's finally kicking in. I hope it starts working soon so I will feel better because right now I am f***ing miserable.
I'm supposed to see my PCP after going to the ER, but the best they could do was schedule me an appointment with an NP for Friday.
So, with the nephrologist's appointment on Monday, I have 3 appointments this week :mad::mad:

I had a lot of nausea after taking all that Mirilax/Gatorade last night, but I felt better after I smoked pot before bed, that improved considerably. I don't know why I never thought of doing that when I was taking the mag. citrate before.

I am so glad it is kicking in so fast. It took me three days. I even called the doctor.

Did you take the 14 doses of it all at once?
It took me about 24 hours once, and I thought THAT was bad.
