Bobby

Wow, Not just one, or two things to try and help yourself.

1. More water to drink. Maybe some flavoring in it even.
Derrick likes the things with lemonade(pink), cherry flavor.
2. Cocoa Cream, I'm hoping it works.
3. Trying to not buy clothes on line. If you definitely need
to buy something online in the clothes area. I have an suggestion.
Try buying a piece of clothing for Cecelia's dog.
4. I love the fact that you are walking in the hall. I also loved
that you and Robert walked to the vet. Maybe see if Robert would
come walk once a week with you. Maybe what your back needs is
to walk some each day.

I am so proud that you are taking control again.

Now the big two.
You went to reading a book, you know you like author. So stick with
her. Find more author's like her. Ask around with others as to if they
know others like her.
Second, I love that you called your doctor. What a big step for
you. Not one you usually take on your own.

You are so special to us. And this is a wonderful start to the new year.
For you

Regarding stomach issues,

My mdoc gave me these instructions:

1) One tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with a glass of water in the a.m.

2) A good probiotic -- one pill at night. Here is what I use:
Garden of Life Ultra Probiotic Formula.

3. Also a prescription: Dicyclomine.
I have used the prescription pills for about a year. I do not have to use them
much now.

4. Instead of oatmeal, I eat white rice -- I think it is the same idea.

Feel better.

thanks so much. I will try the apple cider vinegar but it doesn't make sense to me. I I have been taking a few probiotics. I just started on the oatmeal.

If the probiotics aren't helping, stop them. They don't work for everyone/make any difference, and they are expensive. That is the advice I was given by my gastroenterologist and the surgeon, so I don't bother with them anymore.

Like Mari, I think white rice is very soothing to the stomach, too. Anything on the BRAT diet would be good... Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast.

For more immediate relief, Gaviscon is awesome. And Zantac is a very good drug to start out with. It doesn't have the same potential side effects and med interactions as the proton pump inhibitors like Prilosec. And it's cheap.

My acid reflux is horrible, so I take 40mg of prescription Protonix every morning and it's been a Godsend.

If you keep having stomach discomfort that over the counter meds can't soothe, you should contact your PCP.

I hope some of our ideas help, and you start feeling better (((HUGS)))
