I am exhausted. I am itchy. My eyes are itchy, My arms and legs are itchy and my face and head are itchy. I am so depressed and i can't read. I think the medication is making me itchy. I am having such negative thoughts
|
Great advice from Donna...
Especially taking your cellphone with you. I don't go anywhere without mine. Bobby, how often are you bathing? If you are not bathing often enough or too often it can make you itchy  |
every other day. even my eyes are itchy
|
Bobby
Are you sure its not an either allergic reaction. Or that its not an sinus or something like that reaction. If it was your meds. THis would have been already happening. I'd work on seeing if you changed laundry detergent, soaps and things like that first. I think you need to get it looked at if it continues. Because it doesn't sound right. Donna :grouphug: |
I think it is the new medication.
|
I does sound like something that could be caused by medication.
Call your pdoc on Monday if it does not clear up. If it is bad, skip the Sunday dose until you talk to the pdoc. M |
I looked up the side effects of Cymbalta, and itching IS a side effect. Some side effects can occur at any time you take a medication.
I'm sure you are very uncomfortable :hug::hug: I don't remember if Benadryl works for you or not... If the Benadryl doesn't work, and the itching is really bad, I would try skipping a dose and calling your pdoc as Mari suggested :hug::hug: I know that you don't feel like the med is helping you anyway... |
I am just skipping it and waiting for my next appt.
|
yesterday I couldn't walk after sitting for 3 1.2 hours last week in a restaurant. I wound up sitting on the sidewalk on 86th st trying to meet zeynep
|
I am sorry you are having troubles with walking.
((((HUGS))))) bizi |
thanks. I walked in the hall today after putting on blue emu. talk about friendly new yorkers. three new yorkers ,two young ones and one middle aged one came to the rescue and then Zeynep spotted me on the ground and two were able to get me in a cab. my doorman and zeynep got me into the building. after resting the doorman helped me up the elevator onto the floor into my apartment with Zeynep. Cecilia came over later twice.
|
I am sorry you are struggling.
((((HUGS)))) bizi |
I hope my doctor is in tomorrow -I am so itchy. both cymbalta and xanax can make you really itchy. I want off both. I can;t stand it. One gives me tremors.Cecilia gave me a cariton d =that did nothing
|
did you try benadryl?
That is very effective with itching. bizi |
yes I tried it
|
I changed my allt and will see him at 10;30 ON WED
|
Bobby,
I don't blame you for wanting to stop both meds. If I remember correctly, you were on the Xanax before you were on the Cymbalta, and you weren't itchy then? You have to taper off the Xanax unless you are on a very low dose, or you will go through withdrawals unless you have some Klonopin left and are going right back on that... You have to be on something for anxiety anyway. I would call your pdoc if you don't have enough Klonopin left to last you until your next appointment if you are stopping the Xanax. I hope the itching goes away... You may want to try Aveeno's Skin Relief Body Wash. It's worked really well for me in the past, and I haven't needed lotion afterwards, but I've used it anyway. They have a bath soak, but it makes the bottom of the tub really slippery (I remember that from when I could take a bath). I hope the itching goes away soon :hug::hug: |

the itchiness is awful. It got progressively worse. it is even in my nose and eyes and behind my ears. It could be from both meds. I have klonopin but I did some reading and don;t want to mess around without the doctor's instructions. I don't want to stop because it mentioned positible seizures. I just wnt to 60 xanax. at first I was going to go back to klonopin and zoloft but then when I saw seizures I decided to wait for the doctor.
|
I think that is safe and sound thinking, Bobby :hug::hug:
I hope that things get straightened out at your appointment tomorrow, and the itchiness stops!!!:hug::hug: |
I bought some antacid and now my stomach feels better.
|
I am glad that your tummy feels better.
bizi |
I'm so glad that the antacid helped :)
|
my doctor prescribed BELSOMRA for sleep and a lower dose of cymbalta before he takes me off and klonopin before making too many changes
|
Sounds good Bobby
Because you can't just go cold turkey with cymbalta. It causes other issues when you try. Keep us updated on how it goes. How is the itching though. Donna:hug::grouphug: |
the itching is still bad. thanks for asking
|
what did your doctor say about the itching?specifically?
bizi |
just as a side effect
|
I think your pdoc came up with a good transition plan. And I hope the new sleep med works for you :hug::hug:
What things have you tried for the itching so far? Because it's an internal thing, I think only things like Benadryl or Claritin would work... I hope that by reducing the Cymbalta the itching at least lets up a little :hug::hug: |
I tried Benadryl or Claritin d and neither helped. I am so depressed. yesterday when I went to the doctor's I couldn;t open the door. other people had trouble but they could open it. I feel so weak.
|
Bobby
I can totally understand the being depressed because you couldn't open the door. I hate to tell you this, because it makes me look weak too. But I can't open many doors. I've just decided its my right to have the help. Now when it comes to the itching, how about an lotion such as calamine or something like that. Have you tried that. Also you didn't change laundry or any other soaps right. If you did maybe check the new kind see if that might be some of the problem. Also just for me, there is an time some falls, and springs thanks to the allergies for me. That I get itchy all over. I've learned in my case I just have to wait it out. And keep an scratch thingy handy. Its the only thing that works. If I put an lotion on its good for maybe 15 minutes or sometimes I get lucky longer. But its not the answer except for the immediate time. Calamine is the only thing that works for up to one hour for me. Donna:hug::grouphug: |
since I stopped with the xanax my itching has decreased. I have calamine but haven't used it. my eyes are itchy and the inside of my nose. legs aren't so itchy now. i hate feeling weak! and helpless-grwwwl
|
I am still itchy. the sleeping pill worked a little
|
I HATE asking for help partly because it makes me feel weak, but with doors, I definitely will accept help if offered. Two of my doctors' office doors are f'ing impossible to open myself.
I'm so sorry that you have to always deal with this depression :hug::hug: I'm glad that the itching is starting to subside, and that the sleeping pill offered some help. I hope that it helps more in the future :hug::hug: |
Sorry about the itching that the Xanax has been doing.
I would not imagine that Calamine lotion would help but it would not hurt. M |
I am feeling so depressed not even the cats are helping
|
I am sorry you are so depressed.
Wish I could help. could you read the bible for comfort? bizi |
I have tried but I can;t concentrate
|
(((((((HUGS))))))
bizi |
Depression makes it hard to concentrate :hug::hug:
I think that the Bible can be hard to read. Do you have less difficult books at home that will make for easier reading? I wish your depression would lift. I know that your pdoc's plan is temporary so that you don't get side effects from dropping the Cymbalta... when do you see him again?:hug:  |
